They actually removed it because the coaster was to low to the ground in spots. Some idiot lost his hat and hopped the fence going to look for it and got his head sliced off. You can still see the cement foundation for the poles though. Have you noticed how all the other BG roller coasters are high flyers now? This is why.
@NoBlackOpsStuffHere thats not why it was removed, it was dismantled because the type of coaster is very rare nowadays. In fact in the USA all that are really left are Iron Dragon (Cedar Point), Ninja (SFMM), and Flight Deck (Kings Island). Being that the primary creator of these coasters (Arrow Dynamics) closed, the manufacturing percentage for the coaster parts has gone down significantly, resulting in high costs for parts, labor, and general upkeep.
This was my first roller coaster and my sisters too! It jerks a little, but its a nice ride. Dont Wear a HAT!! My Dad lost his in the water on this ride
The Big Bad Wolf was the first major Rollercoaster I ever rode! I was too scared of the other coasters before riding it. That coaster was great for small kids and begginer riders who were too scared (Or short) to ride the more extreme coasters! I was so miserable when I heard it was closing!
Kurlybobhotpants has clearly done more research on the grounds of Busch Gardens than the engineers did when making a $4 Million investment in Drachen Fire. If the ground is not stable then why is it that BBW stood for 25 years and Drachen Fire had no issues regarding it's foundation? Why haven't the Drachen Fire buildings failed after 17 years? Do you have any actual proof of your claim? I'd actually be very interested to see it.
That still doesn't address the fact that Drachen Fire didn't have any issues with it's foundation. The coaster didn't come crashing to the ground, so why would the supposed sinkholes have any effect on future construction on the site? I'm somewhat familiar with the supervisory structure at the park and I know that Area's are as susceptible to conjecture and rumor as most other employees. But again, I'd actually really like to see solid proof that this is true.
Oh, good info, I was at the last ride of big bad wolf last night and the VP's were saying that they weren't ready to make an announcement yet, now I don't need to wait on the park to make an official announcement though, thanks for breaking the news. 7 years puts it at 2002, when DF was removed, is the rumor that DF was removed because of sinkholes? Or is it just coincidence that the purported rumor began then?
Yeah, I know it was removed because it constantly failed g-force tests, it just seems to me that I would have heard about sinkholes large enough to prevent construction in that area, but I guess it's possible that it's true, I have no proof that it's not.
That roller coaster has been there forever. I remember that ride being there when I went back in 1995. I whole lot has changed there at Busch Gardens since I was there. Griffin is now there and some other new insane coaster.
You must have gotten kicked out of the park for being yourself..."A Douche" that shows his ass, like your comments here about a fun family park that kids & adults Love alike!
@wheezy006 Agree nigga. Fuck lameass family retarded busch gardens. Fuck the whole goddamn piece of shit "amusement" park. The only thing amusing bout it is that the ridiculous retards to laugh @ there.
This seems very similar to what Busch did to the Python at Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa, FL. The Python turned 30 in 2007 and Busch did nothing for it's first coaster at that park, and then it closed one month after is 30th anniversary. Then they turned the whole area into Jungala. Here's the parallel. BBW just celebrated it's 25th anniversary this year with no big celebration as BGE did for the 30th anniversary of Nessie. Might they turn that area into an area similar to Jungala?
It's a good pattern, but I doubt it. They just opened Sesame Street at BGW and it's pointless to make another land targeted at the same demographic. I can see them putting in a coaster, or something for the adults.
Probably won't have any animals like Jungala does, but it probably will be a new country to connect Festa Italia and Oktoberfest. There are also rumors of a new flying coaster to dive down over the rhine river. BBW's being taken down before the season even ends, so clearly BG has something in mind for that spot already with an aggressive timeline.
This ride needs to stay! its def my fav at BGE! it holds a special place in my heart and its just crazy that they would remove it. plus its like the closest thing to a family coaster at the park
I found out they don't have this ride anymore nooooo that was favorite ride.

So the reason Drachen Fire was removed is because large sinkholes were discovered? Just trying to work out exactly what you're saying.
