what an incomplete lesson... hands on the knees??? you don't need to wait until the pitcher to move towards the plate... if he's a righty just wait for his left foot to move... if he's lefty watch his right foot... if it moves in any direction different than 1st base and throws to 1st is a balk
and make sure not to lean over too much ... you have to keep your center of gravity, so you can optimize your reaction time ... but other than that, good job coach.

resting your hands on your knees make it a lot harder to get back to the base on a pick-off attempt
