The USSR divided Ossetia between Russia & Georgia just to make it more comfortable to run the territory separated by the mountains. And S.ossetians always wanted to be with Russia and N.Ossetia. The Russians did what the Japs did during WWII and they CONFRONTED the UN after they attacked Georgia. Yeah...you need to learn history ... Ossetia was a part of Russian Empire as well as Georgia. The USSR divided Ossetia between Russia & Georgia just to make it more comfortable to run the territory separated by the mountains. And S.ossetians always wanted to be with Russia and N.Ossetia. When Georgia declared independence, Ossetians didn't want to leave the USSR. Georgians wanted to keep them and removed their autonomy ,then georgians massacred some 18000 of ossetians. There was a war in 1992.

S, Ossetia and Abkhazia is INSIDE the Georgian borders. Georgians lived here and were cleansed from the region by Russians, Seperatists. Now if you can point me to an article where it says that then I will read it but the only thing I have found on this in 1992 is when the the above happened. Personally I say let Russia have the friggin mountains let them suck snow...Screw'em. Then I would talk to the president Bush about buy M60A3 with the upgraded armor package and dump the Commie crap.

Yes, Georgia has always controlled S. Ossetia. But the Russians in their infinite wisdom decided upon their selves to post Peacekeepers in Georgia. If you look at Current Russian maps you will see S. Ossetia is in Georgia...as well you will find the boundries on Google Earth as well.
