  • These pathetic status quo seekers.

  • Yes, Investment banking is great. You have absolutely no life, boyfriend, or family. On top of that, sometimes weekly all-nighters and sucking up to do. Playing hard in a boys club as a girl is sexy and working 100% for money from the very early morning to midnight every day as deals come closer to deadlines is super fun. Maybe is time for a career change. Love it.

  • loves everything about her job? huh

  • ROFTLMAO, Seriously if I was investing money... I would never invest with her.

  • To those who say we don't need investment bankers: This is just like saying we don't need banks to accept deposits for people & people can just 'loan' portions of their savings out to other people who want loans. It's wrong in every fundamental way. And I couldn't even get into Investment Banking.

  • Can someone who comes from poverty become an Investment Banker ?

If you have one, did you ever ask about their socio-economic background ?

  • @wgamador

yes. I do. I belong to a lower middle class background in India. And I have a job offer in investment banking, though its a back end work for first 2-3 years. And all of it is purely based on merit & performance. So if you are poor or rich, that shouldnt matter

  • private equity is nothing without a stable credit environment, on the other hand, you can trade and literally make a fortune during the worst credit crisis in credit default swaps or related securities that take a bearish position on the credit markets. Meanwhile, deals have plummeted for the past year.

  • Trading is where the money is at :0).

  • Private Equity is where the money is at.

  • No, Hedge Funds is where the money is at.

  • when the days of easy credit is gone, investment banking bonus is likely to be limited
