@jamienelson10 Im a beauty therapist who has done many fake tans. The reason it says that on the bottle is because it needs time to set. Showering before the tan has set actually causes it to wash off. Kandee is talking about putting on your make up..after the tan has set. so she means..put tan on...let set for couple of hours..then apply make up.

I think tanning/Whitning on the intent to Whiten/darken the skin in order to fit an image of beauty given to someone by somebody else is unnatractive and a bit disgusting. Doing anything to appeal to someone else is a crime against yourself.

I always put another layer of tanner on my neck and chest 12 hours later. This way I don't get that too-much-makeup look when my face appears darker than my neck. I find I need to do this even when I use a lighter shade of self tanner on my face. Also, with Retin-A I skip the face all together and put more layers on the neck. My face is red enough!

Being blonde and pale I NEVER put self tanner around my eyes. It looks muddy and dirty. It doesn't look uneven without it, but if you think you need it try rubbing only the excess from your fingers on your eyes once your done with the rest of your skin.
