I don't know who fed you that shit, but Romanians are thrown together AK's for the US market that have some of the most horrible triggers imaginable as well as finish. Are'nt pre-ban AKs are called MAK-90 I amsuming US would only allow import of a semi auto ak-47 in the US since a Fully auto AK-47 is more of a machine gun. US is not very favorable of civilians with fully auto military weapons. I was told they made the ak-47 semi automatic and change the pistol grip then changed the name to stamped the name MAK-90 on it.

No, the MAK-90 rifles are post-ban rifles. Meaning that they complide to the "sporting" rifle rules after the 1989 assault rifle ban (biggest loud of bullshit ever thought up). The US use to allow the import of 100% made foriegn AK's, but now all the ones that are new production are either sporter rifles that are converted over to the more "evil" features.

VEPR is the best Russian AK available, Robinson Armament imports them. One a side note, the man dumping the 75-round drum in this video does a fantastic job.

Also, machine guns were regulated by the 1986 National Firearm Act. All the legal full-auto AK's that are over here were converted before the act and registered to be legal for civilian transfer with alot of paperwork.
