Dolphins swim an average of 10 miles, 16 kms a day. You have place them in a 400 meters wide port. it is like been tied to a bath tub for them. It is a mean way of making money. Many dolphins have committed suicide, the last one at Sea World in Miami he drowned himself to the bottom of the pool and stopped breathing.Touching the dolphins, how would you like people touching you on the streets as you walk

I would very much love to swim with dolphins .... BUT in the wild. I agree with jordanunicorn77 you people need to watch "The Cove". The dolphins in the sea-aquariums are taken by force & the ones that aren't suitable are slaughtered. Please until you watch "The Cove" don't bother to comment because you have no idea what you're talking about !!!

boycott all such abusement parks. if you love dolphins DO NOT DO THIS! You are supporting all kinds of animal abuse that you are not aware of. please see the movie called The Cove. Look it up on google. Also don't grab a dolphins skin or especially ride on their fins, they are sensitive and not made for your entertainment.

@nikkicraft Interesting how you're defending dolphins since their males have been shown to work together to 'keep' a female to use as their slave. What about their murder of young so that the mother will go gravid again and they have a better opportunity to pass their genes on? The small percentage of dolphins that are in captivity are cared for to the best of the keepers abilities, which is more than can be said for a larger percentage of human children. It's nice to see your priorities though.

@bynemobs Actually, the person is right. Captive dolphins do die early, much earlier than they would in their natural habitat. Many of them actually just commit suicide because they are depressed. You think that just because they are fed and taken care of makes them happy and keeps them interested?

I hope you all drown when you realise your 'dream', animals should not be kept in captivity and the argument that they are safe is just ludicrous. Take responsibility for your actions. Because of your desire to do that a dolphin is taken from it's natural habitat, that's a fact. When you leave, that animal stays in a small tank for the rest of it's life rather than swimming with it's family group in the oceans and seas. You are causing pain and being cruel, deal with it.

How would you like to have to live in a bathtub turning only in circles in highly chlorinated so it causes constant dryness and infection swimming and doing tricks for dead fish to keep you safe from societal violence? you wouldn't. They do everything voluntarily, which suggests that they must enjoy it. Many dolphins in parks and aquariums were born there, not all were captured from the wild. There are several dolphins in captivity in their 40's or 50's, while dolphins in the wild are lucky to make it to 25 or 30. And they are NOT endangered.

Bottlenose dolphins are listed as "depleated" - 2 categories under Endangered. JUST in the pacific ocean there is estimated to be ~240,000 and all around the globe at about 945,000 dolphins. They are protected under the marine mammal protection act and no longer are "cought in the wild and foced to live in those places for all their lives" in the US. In the wild they starve, get caught in fishermen's nets, battle for food, are attacked by predators, and also have to cope with pollution.
