  • @RobGwisdala Absolutely horrible. They have all these *sensors* now which will probably not last long, the agitation is not as strong as it used to be and, the tub indexes? I thought we did away with that long ago. and why they make the water come out so weak now is beyond me. I also do not like that they did away with the transmissions. There was nothing wrong with them, this one is 21 years old and is still working perfect.

And, getting rid of the mechanical control dial was not smart.

  • @RobGwisdala hmm, that is a very good question! I have never owned the older belt drives but I have seen just how well they indeed last. For the direct drives, I LOVE them. This machine in particular has done an awesome job getting stuff washed properly. Comparing the Kenmore DD to the Whirlpool DD, I like the whirlpool more because the agitator is taller and the upper agitator moves clockwise better than the Kenmore does.

  • @RobGwisdala To be honest, i'm not totally sure, I think it is just the difference between the Kenmore and the Whirlpool agitator. Ya know what, look up the user dualactionsurgilator, he may know the difference. :)

  • @Sharkie626 As a matter of fact I do. The Dual Action plus has a curved auger fin and the xtra roll does not. The Whirlpool also has a ornate top which houses the softener dispenser. The Kenmore has a clip on dispenser. Mechanically these agitators are the same as they use the same base and ratcheting mechanism.

  • @RobGwisdala Then keep it! :)

  • @RobGwisdala Ah, why not just replace them? they are very cheap and easy to replace! :)

  • @RobGwisdala Though also, is there something wrong with your DA agitator?

  • @RobGwisdala Wouldn't be as good, I think there is a vid of it somewhere on here. But if ya do have a DA agitator, keep it, rollover is better with it. ;)

  • @RobGwisdala I would keep the Dual Action, with large loads, turnover will not be very good.

  • I had this exact same machine .It was my moms ,one she bought new around 1993 I guess and she passed it down to me .It finally died today but it was an awesome machine ..I went today and bought another whirlpool

  • @redwolf754 Ahh, very good move!

  • You should just have changed the agitator dogs

  • Yep, that is the only part that we had to replace.

  • can you mack a video of the dryer working.

  • Sure, I can do that! I'm at college right now though so it will have to wait until around thanksgiving when I am home. ;)

  • Alright thank you. Your washer looks like a 1988/1989 because I have a 1989 Whirlpool washer but win its spinning the washer moves slowley I don't know way I just found a Maytag wringer washer yesterday so I might use the wringer washer so I dont have to move my Whirlpool washer back win I use it. But I don,t know if the wringer washer works of not so win I get a chance I will test to see if the wringer waser work.

  • Ok the Maytag wringer washer did not work so I had to by a 1985 Maytag washer of a Gregslist.

  • is the '85 the one with the green straight-vane agitator?

  • No the agitator is white.

  • ahh, alrighty then ;)

  • I also got a free 2007 whirlpool dryer but it tacks a long time for it to heat up so I wish I did'not throw my old dryer away because it works better then my old one.

  • I'm sorry if I'm being pushey but it is almost Christmas and you don't have my Dryer video I was looking for but if you are busy I understand I can wate.

  • I'm trying man, right now I am looking to see if I can get that lower front panel off so I can show the burner.

  • Ok calm down I can wate it is the holodays and you might be busy so take your time.

  • Yeah, dont worry, I will get to it :)

  • Alright thank you marry Christmas.

  • Well know I have a par of 1994 Maytags that I got from my cosun.

  • that sounds cool :)

  • T in the model number makes it a 1988 model year. The serial number indicates the exact year and week of manufacture .. but you have to know the code.

  • That washing machine is as old as me.

  • You both may be related! :O lol ;)
