Thanks for the info, saved me a ton of money!!! All new pads and rotors on the front cost me about $60. Midas wanted to charge me $99 just for the pads.
@minchy87 It sounds like maybe you've added fluid at one time since fluid poured out of the resevoir. If that's the case, you could had a leak and more than likely it would be at the caliper/ I would pull off the wheel and make sure the caliper pins are allow the brake to move freely and see if there is any signs of leakage from the caliper. It could also be frozen. If it's leaking or frozen you can get a new caliper or rebuild kit.
@minchy87 No need to bleed, only if replacing a brake line, caliper, etc.. You don't need to take the cap off unless it's too full. If you haven't added fluid you should be fine. You can add a little WD40 to the studs. You don't want to oil the back of the pads, they sell a anti noise grease that comes in a little packet for less than a $1. Use that. You can just wipe them off but you I would get the cleaner. You don't want to get any of the oil on the pads.
@anthonygarcia1979 No. The bearings are sealed (older cars you could just regrease). There is no way to clean and regrease on this vehicle. You have to purchase a new hub when they go bad.
hi, after u take the aliper and the pads of, is there more bolts to take the rotor off, or does the rotor just slide off after u take off the caliper thxx
Should just slide off. It may be rusted onto the hub. Most of the ones I've done have been are there pretty well. Spray them with some PB Blaster and whack em pretty good with a rubber mallet if you want to keep the rotors. If you are installing new rotors, pound the crap out of them with a sledge..
Nice job Johnny. Looks like you have a Harbor Freight C clamp ;) just like mine hehe. Mine works great. I usually take any kind of sliding pins up to a wire wheel to get all the corrosion off and then lube it up. Thank god you got new rotors because they were toast. Nice garage, Id love to have a nice space like that to have a little project car or something. Even better if you had a car lift!
Actually the C clamp was from Lowes (older one). LOL.. Yeah, I would love to have a lift! The ceilings aren't real high so I wouldn't be able to lift too high. Thanks!

brucekirk89 2 months ago
@brucekirk89 No, not unless you're changing the calipers (ABS sensor more than likely connects there).
