  • tony rice unit comes to the watseka theatre watseka illinois on may 7, 2011

  • Makes absolutely no sense for anybody to play that good. He's hittin' some bad ass chords. Wow...

  • OMG! That's the Down Home in Johnson City. I've played on that stage.

  • Hahaha, weird filming....nice guitar player! First time I hear him, like the mixing between chord progressions Jazz/blues/bluegrass...Nice. Me like!

  • sideways doesn't matter...Tony is so cool.. glad u shared this vid

  • My neck is sore now.

  • fk me , how good is he

  • oh the Down Home. The greatest Music venue that exists. :)

I had the privledge of seeing Tony there in 93, the last shows he was singing , and he had the Unit with him . Wow

  • TONY IS THE MAN, still may favorite flat picker. Hes the Rolls Royce of bluegrass guitar, Guys like Grier and Sutton are like Corvettes

  • No problems - could have been worse; at least you pressed 'record' :-)

  • too be able to play like this....and even sing like he used to before his health problems....is a true gift to the world. thank you, Tony.

  • You are absolutely correct! When you think about the impact he's had on an entire genre of music it's mind boggling!

  • my brain turns to pudding when i hear this stuff. I start talking like mushmouth.

  • Wow, that needs skill to play sideways

  • Classic Tony greatness!!

  • I am actually currently working on a cd with Tony, and Richard Bennett, done all in Wyatt's home.

  • Tony has the best tone of anybody I've ever met or played with. I had the honor of jamming with him after the "Blue Grass Classic" in a motor home for several hours after his performance back in 2001. What a lot of people don't realize is that he loves to jam to everything.

  • Thanks for posting. Awesome!

  • Ummmmm wow?

  • It's a medley of tunes. The first part is "Barbara Allen." It's an old Scottish/Irish tune from centuries ago. The next part is "Summertime." Tony doesn't really consider himself a jazz player as such, however, to my ears, this is some of the finest jazz playing I've ever heard.

  • thats definatly summertime

  • This is awesome, I think I hear a little of "Summertime" in there or "Unknown Emotion/Hidden Place".
