  • THIS SONG GOES FUCKING HAMBONE IN THE CARMEL-APPLE BULLETPROOF BUGATTI

  • wikipedia has a whole diagram which visually explains the various offshoots and incarnations of this band which makes them look like the psychedelic mafia. I'm confused, but I can definately say that I like their early space rock stuff best.

  • Yes... Take on a Fusion FM please (in cab) :)

  • Loving That Bassline !!!!

  • GONG CANTERBURY BEST BAND WITH SOFT MACHINE

  • For a minute, I was expecting Joe Walsh to start singing, since the groove is similar to that on James Gang's "Walk Away".

  • mp3 anyone?

  • @airsoft66 Download to Realplayer and convert it into an MP3 or go to vidtomp3(.)com

  • amor

  • epic sound, who made this.

  • @jijweethetookniet It was written by drummer / master percussionist Pierre Moerlen - RIP

Btw, this jazz fusion orientated incarnation of Gong is known as 'Pierre Moerlen's Gong'

  • Compared to the world class playing and composing on previous "Gazeuse" (esp.: Esnuria, Shadows of, Expresso, Night illusion),

I find this track simply boring.

  • @Miwof That's nice- I guess we can all go to hell for digging this nice little groove. And you will be the only one left on earth with no one to shred for.

  • @Miwof You're simple. And boring :D

@DaDa2Phlux ...exactly what I was GOING to say.

  • rock heavy, hipnotic, dark, simplemente genial

  • Man, this is a heavy tune. Me love.

  • That base at the start of the song is awesome

  • Fussion fm is really addictive

  • my bass tabs are ready! go to bassmasta and search for gong - heavy tune!

  • Tomorrow my bass tabs are ready. Ill post the link soon

  • @420PeeJay NO WAY!! GONG HAVE BEEN A BAND SINCE 1968 !!!! THIS IS PIERRE MOERLEN'S GONG,CIRCA 1978 .

  • tabs/chords?

  • thanks man brings back fond memories!! & yes Mick Taylor Played On expresso 1 & 2 I think. But know He's on this.. Rockin!!

  • Omg the legend himself, Allan Holdsworth is featured in Grand Theft Auto IV!?

I can now die a happy man. My life is complete.

  • This is Pierre Moerlen's Gong right? I've been a fan of the early (60's) Gong stuff when Daevid Allen was the main man (Camembert Electrique is one of my fav albums EVER), and didn't really follow Moerlen's 70's stuff particularly. However, whilst playing GTA IV I heard this tune and liked it, and used the ZiT number in game to find out who it was by. I was incredibly surprised (and happy!) to find out it was a Gong song =) Totally made my day.

  • I love this song and some of the other songs in GTA IV, if not if has the best soundtrack of any game that Rockstar made

  • @420PeeJay "for the win", or sometimes its "fuck the world"

  • Hansford Rowe on bass as I recall.Nice one.

  • Allan Holdsworth ftw!

  • God if it wasn't for GTA4 i would have never discovered my all time favorite song.

  • @YewLogs026 me too. thanks to rockstar games......all the gta's have great music on it.....no matter what genre

  • This is one of the best jazz rock songs, I think, I like it as much as "Hazard Profile".

  • "Expresso II" is the best of Moulin leading Gong's albums.

  • Fusion FM is awesome it's got some great music even though i normally listen to the beat 102.7 and the classics

  • i luv this track i first heard it on gta real funky hot track

  • These guys are awesome...for more of their stuff check out "gongzilla" they changed their name...THEY ROCKKKKKKKK

  • :O awesome

    <3 it!

  • the very underrated mick taylor, formerly of the stones & mayall's bluesbreakers, is the guest guitarist on this track.

  • Didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

  • @grEzyRyd3r hey, i was wonderin if i could download this song from u somhow? really enjoyed it, cheers

  • @grEzyRyd3r Mick Taylor's stint with the Stones was something of a mixed blessing, I think. It made him v famous but did little to let the world know just how good a player he is.

  • There are in fact two guitarrists in this track: Mick Taylor ( guest ) and Allan Holdswortth which to me is the best jazz-rock fusion guitarrist in the world.

  • @sauerix holdsworth doesn't play on this track, but i agree he is the best

  • @geoffwhat As far as I know Allan plays the rythm guitar (the first you hear at the beginning of the tune) and Mick Taylor plays the solo one.

  • that's where i heard it (GTA). this song has a funky sound that only artist from back in the day could bring. enough said.....

  • haha wicked lol . . . good game

  • this is the first time iv heard this song. . . prety wicked gota say : )

where are these guys and dolls from? . .

  • I don't know much about them myself. The first time I heard this song was when I was playing Grand Theft Auto IV.

  • Me Too.

  • this song is on the soundtrack for grant theft auto?

    you're kidding me, man!!!??????

  • @grEzyRyd3r Gong are an amazing band who have gone through many changes during their time. I have seen Gong play Manchester Apollo a few times in the past and their gigs are always something unique and very special.

As well as seeing Gong live, I have also seen the man himself Daevid Allen live at the Apollo too. The guy is in his 70's or 80's now and still going strong, I think he still runs Banana Moon studios somewhere in the Canary Islands, he's one whacky guy!!

  • @grEzyRyd3r Witch radio station whas it?

  • @gommpie

    Fusion FM

  • French group, originally weird and very varied psychedelic rock, peaking with the "Radio Gnome" record trilogy in mid-70's. But then the original leaders left and it turned it into a jazz-fusion band, fairly close to Mike Oldfield style. The first records in that style were good (like this) but then (80's) it went downhill. Nowadays, original Gong has reunited and plays space-phychedelia again.

So you may find "Gong" music in two different styles. (And which one you like best is up to you.)

  • france .. i think

  • @robbienicoll They were a 70's english Art Rock band.

  • @robbienicoll Originally, they were a group of musicians of different nationalities led by Daevid Allen. They used to live together in a cabin somewhere in the french woods. There they tripped balls 24/7 and wrote awesome music about a planet called Gong. Check out their "Flying Teapot"- album

  • @robbienicoll Probably the most commercial attempt by the English band, Gong, from 1977

  • @Beadbud5000 ...and some frogs..:)

  • @robbienicoll French psycheledic group, related to Soft Machine. Broke up after success with their "Radio Gnome Trilogy", then rebuilt under Pierre Moerlen, and became a fusion group. It is a famous group, it is easy to find out more (although the full story is very confusing).

  • @robbienicoll - The're from France.

  • @robbienicoll Yes, very wicked. Gong originally formed in Paris in the late 60's.

  • Finally! Someone with a decent taste in music and the ability to post stuff on Youtube!

Thanks Man, i been looking for this song for ages!

  • I'm glad to know you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to comment. : )

  • My pleasure.
