its necessary because if you dont use it you will just get oxygen gas and maybe some foam but with the detergent it gets soapy and stays together like toothpaste.

H2O2 ( HYDROGEN PEROXIDE )

DETERGENT

AND

KL ( POTTASIUM CHLORIDE )

Well the last day of my cem class i drilled a hole into a Styrofoam ball then poured in potassium permanganate then tricked a kid into putting glysrine in it it made huge fire ball it was pretty funny

add some acetone, a little bit of yeast , and some fire and u will get real fun, lol

for every1 whos wanting to try this: you also need to add a very small amount of yeast to the solution to make it work

It was a while ago now, but I think there was some kind of catalyst too - Potassium Dichromate springs to mind.
