If ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN would not cover the Van Jones rumors, then I suspect there was nothing to report. All of these network news divisions are made of competitive journalist with at least a few ounces of integrity. If there was anything to the rumors, they would want to beat the others to the exclusive outing.

It might follow that a state run media would settle things down, but somehow that doesn't seem to be the answer. Certainly skillful, intentional disinformation can discredit the current freedom of speech and expression. These guys want to be the public's final word, and to focus discussion on their narrow band. Their selection of issues and weight of importance attached thereto is old guard.

In fact, most of the recent misinformation and spin that i've seen does not come from the internet - it comes from the main stream media - deciding what's important and what's not.

Fact is with internet you are in charge not some partisan biased and sometime ignorant journalist trying hard to make name and money.
