I've been trying to learn this piece. I have the same music you mentioned, but am having a hard time getting my pull offs to sound like yours. How do you do it? Is it another technique besides a regular pull off?
Hi! As far as I know, it's just a regular pull off. I find that pull offs sound best when you sort of push your finger into the neck and at the same time pull down towards the ground. Sort of like if you're trying to pinch the string against the neck, but then your finger slips off. So if you're performing a pull off on the B string, at the end off the pull off your finger should be pressed down into the space between the B and the E string. It's kinda hard to describe, but hopefully that helps!
ur play all your piece very well compare to others people in you tube.do you think Rode NT 4 is better than shure SM57 mic. the sound of your guitar so very good. that is estevez 1gr3e (CEDAR TOP/LAMINATED MONGOY?OVANKOL?.)the guitar has the look and sound of expensive guitar.how do you like the guitar?
Very nicely played. I think it shows through how much you like the piece. What collection or where did you purchase this music in standard notation? I have tried to find it, but when I got this piece called "Maria" by Tarrega, it was not the tango.
Thanks for your comment! The book that I found this piece in is called "The Francisco Tarrega Collection," published by Hal Leonard. I bought it at a local music store, but it appears to be available on Amazon.
Thanks! I only have this piece in standard notation, but I just checked Classtab[dot]org, and it looks like they have some tabs uploaded. I'll PM you the link.
I am going to stop now, 'cos three comments is enough for anyone in one night.
Beautiful tone again, lovely phrasing and after seeing your later posts, I bet you play it at a dancing tempo now too. Again thanks for the inspiration and for helping me interpret the music.
Thanks for listening! And thank you for all of your comments, I appreciate them! Unfortunately I just got my hair a couple months ago, but only because I'm starting a dietetic internship soon, and I don't think employers take too kindly to long, stinky hair. It's a shame, really, but whaddya gonna do?
Hi, thanks for your comment! The microphone I'm using is a Rode NT-4, which I have connected to an M-Audio MobilePre USB preamp. Then I just use a free program called Audacity to record everything. The guitar is an Esteve 1GR3E, which I bought a few years ago when I first started playing. Turned out to be a pretty darned good guitar considering how much I paid for it.
Bravissimo!
