I just cannot watch since Mary Jo Foley became a regular. Paul is a die hard Windows user, but he is realistic about his views and I respect that. Foley is blind in her admiration and half the time does not get the jokes that Leo and Paul make. I unsubscribed for the time being.
I'll also ask you this simple question. Why would you buy a Windows 8 tablet if you wanted something other than Windows. That's one question you Linux fools refuse to answer, because it renders your entire argument moot. There are tons of tablets that you could buy.
The truth is nobody wants Linux, especially on a tablet, outside of a few tech nerds like you.
Nice "facts" but if you do some research few android tablets have locked boot loaders, and the ones that do have a way to unlock them by using tools provided by the manufacturer. But of course you know all the "facts" and Microsoft would never do anything to try and ensure a monopoly or crush competition right? It's not like they have a history of doing that or something.....
@adept7me You are dead wrong on Android tablets. As for Microsoft's monopoly, I'll challenge you to show me where Microsoft has a monopoly in tablets and smart phones? I'm waiting.
The truth is you're just a Microsoft hating idiot who doesn't really care about this shit. All you and your fellow Linux loving, Microsoft hating brethren care about is attacking Microsoft in the hopes that they will be forced to play by different rules than everyone else does, thereby hurting them.
Picking up from where I left off in response to adept7me, if you want Linux on a tablet, go buy an Intel Windows 8 tablet. Then you can put whatever you want on it. This whole nonsense is from Linux idiots who simply want to damage Microsoft. If they truly cared about this issue, they would be hammering Apple and Google for the very same thing. They're hypocrites and idiots who should be ignored.
I try to enjoy the show, but this one got under my skin, Paul and Mary Jo are acting very childish and short sighted in their comments about not being able to install Linux. It's obvious the world is moving towards a tablet / arm based era and the reason why people are upset is because not allowing another os would cause even more of a monopoly or duopoly between Microsoft and apple. If Microsoft made a tablet like the Xbox I would understand if they locked the boot loader but to force this on
@adept7me Your comment makes no sense. Here are the facts. iPads and Android tablets are locked down, meaning you can't install another OS on them without jailbreaking them. But I don't see you and other Linux idiots whining about that. Here's fact two. Microsoft has no market share in tablets, so spare me the duopoly crap. Here's fact three. If you want something other than Windows 8, why buy a Windows 8 tablet. Buy something else. Fact four. This is only for ARM tablets.
And wtf Acre product placement at the end?? Leo is not a good actor. Sure TWiT needs sponsors but this was done so heavyhanded, I'm embarrassed watching this... :/
Amazing these guys think that anyone who dislikes Microsoft's locking down hardware is "crazy." Apple sells bricks, why can't Microsoft? At least Leo counters them.

@HTHAMMACK1 Loads of people use GNU/Linux despite it neither being preinstalled on computers nor readily available on computer stores.
The great bulk of people who use WIndows don't even realize it and could use GNU/Linux just as well.
Facebook and Google based their technology fully on open source and GNU/Linux, ever wondered why they avoided MS solutions?

Beta is not really beta today, it's a demo. Instead of a demo, you get the beta.
Same thing with games, the beta has turned into a demo.
