No, not refinance the existing debt.. That's not how I would do it.. The debt would get much worst, that is not refinancing at all.. That is extreme spending. I would not raise taxes due to an increasing debt, I would freeze tax increase and for varying years the debt would increase drastically. Then the new addon system will start paying for the accounted tax freeze (recorded extras). In other words, you pay 13% tax, but they are really 15 or 20, etc. What happens to the other percentage is it is tracked separately, and paid back by the new system. The new system will pay itself off, for the constructions and local/national debts. Yes, all that.

The Scandinavian model does not reach the same standard of health care as American, there are problems with regulating costs and lately politicians have been cutting down on it's funding. It's not unusual that hospitals simply run out of beds time to time.

There`s not a single scandinavian that would have wanted to replace their health care system with the current U.S. system. Raising taxes is not enough. The federal government has been living on deficits for many decades. They're borrowing money and live well beyond their standard even without health care. The dollar is fairly close to a collapse and without the entire western world is going to have troubles with financing anything. The wealth of England and Canada is largely dependent on American trade so they really aren't any better of.
The only guarantee to avoid a finicial crizis from happening again is to vote for democrats. When Clinton left office he`d reduced the national debt with 50% and left a record high surplus. There's a lot going into this financial breakdown, national debt is not the only debt we need to be concerned of, the entire banking system creates more debt the more it grows and it's all supported by the government and it has been for many decades. It's going to get worse before it gets better, health care is a secondary concern for now.

I would not raise taxes due to an increasing debt, I would freeze tax increase and for varying years the debt would increase drastically. Then the new addon system will start paying for the accounted tax freeze (recorded extras). In other words, you pay 13% tax, but they are really 15 or 20, etc. What happens to the other percentage is it is tracked separately, and paid back by the new system. The new system will pay itself off, for the constructions and local/national debts. Yes, all that.

The Scandinavian model does not reach the same standard of health care as American, there are problems with regulating costs and lately politicians have been cutting down on it's funding. It's not unusual that hospitals simply run out of beds time to time.

The problem with Obama's plan is that the availability of health care, while it may take care of the threat posed by Medicare and Medicaid, won't save them since the US' financial issues are faaaar worse than that.

Raising taxes is not enough. The federal government has been living on deficits for many decades. They're borrowing money and live well beyond their standard even without health care. The dollar is fairly close to a collapse and without the entire western world is going to have troubles with financing anything. The wealth of England and Canada is largely dependent on American trade so they really aren't any better of.

There's a lot going into this financial breakdown, national debt is not the only debt we need to be concerned of, the entire banking system creates more debt the more it grows and it's all supported by the government and it has been for many decades. It's going to get worse before it gets better, health care is a secondary concern for now.

Also, he is not considering both sides. He is going to pass a "fairness doctrine" which will remove people who oppose him on talk radio and replace them with people who supports him.
He is going to go against the constitution and take away our freedom of speech because we oppose him.
That certainly does not sound like taking both sides' views into account.

Also, every spending bill that Bush passed during his last years in the administration was approved and written by a DEMOCRATIC congress. Pelosi, Reed, Frank, etc put these bills in Bush's hands. Bush was wrong for signing their proposals but it was the DEMOCRATS who approved them before Bush could even sign them. THE EXACT SAME PEOPLE IN CHARGE NOW. When things went wrong, they blamed Bush instead of taking responsibility.

For one, how is it that I am a racist because I don't agree with his policies which contradict everything this country is founded on. He is trying to take this country from a capitalistic society to a socialistic society which always fails. There are plenty of African Americans who disagree with his socialistic policies. Are they racist too? Come on, let's have some common sense.

You know there is only so much 1 man can do. The economy is in a major crisis and it will take years maybe more to clean up this mess. I do believe, however that Pres. Barack Obama will take a load off of the issue. And to everyone that blames HIM for the recession you are totally NAIVE. The last president , President George W. Bush was the cause of this. Newsflash: Government doesn't invest money. It spends money. If health care spending is too high, why isn't he cutting Medicare and Medicaid to lower costs? He's going to destroy Medicare with these deficits. We'll end up having to shut half the government just to pay the debt and interest.

About that "WE ARE OUT OF MONEY NOW" remark at 13:34, Obama meant what it means literally: 1. U.S. has run out of money as a whole; and 2. the government has run out of the TARP fund to (supposedly) stimulate the economy.
Also, check out 18:40 where he was going to say "Well, you know, what can [you do for (that hopeless) GM? We have no choice but to nationalize it at least temporarily.]"

Historians have been kind to FCR and JFK. It's very easy to idolize the dead. Even Bush would have fared better if hes been killed. Look at the turnaround after 9/11 he went from a buffoon to a speaker on par with Lincoln. Someone actually told me that!
