Calzague in his prime had the exact same style but he was also a fukin HARD hitter the thing is that his hands are all messed up thats why he has to slap, he was able to win every round but the first with no power imagine if he didnt fucked up his hands

I've been watching boxing for quite some time now. I've never seen someone as fast a RJJ. His speed was just sick. In fact, that's why he was so unorthodox. He didn't have to rely on all the fundamentals of boxing. He was just so fast, his God-given ability is what won fights. Unfortunately, after moving up to fight Ruiz, and then cutting the weight to fight Tarver, plus his age, he just wasn't the same fighter. Of course it's my opinion, but I believe RJJ beats Calzaghe easily in Jones' prime.

If you think his work rate was high in the RJJ fight(985 punches thrown to RJJ's 475). You should have seen him 10years ago. YES his ability may not have been as great as RJJ but he would out worked him and recover from knock downs.

RJJ's flash and power was the greatest I've ever seen. I have seen JC in his prime. I do have to admit that JC didn't get a lot of credit. Everybody was saying for Jones to fight Darius. And then DM lost to a Jones leftover. My point is this...JC is a very good fighter....but do I see him beating Jones in Jones' prime..no. Unfortunately, great fighters will always battle it out in the world of "what might have been." Jones' speed and power was nothing I'd ever seen.

Great footwork (never heavy on his feet)

Tremendous stamina (can fight any round like he has just started fighting)

Good recovery (can get knocked down and still win a fight).

Accurate puncher (might not knock you out but hits the spot).

Personally RJJ is good but you can't write off Calzaghe. Knock him down and he only comes back stronger (as he has shown).

roy had great footwork calzaghe doesnt really have footwork..he rushes in & backs out..footwork equals rhythm & lateral movement not forward & backward..does have tremendous stamina..most of his knockdowns have come by has-beens..hopkins isnt even a hard puncher..eubank was washed up..so was roy..even chris eubank openly admitted he wouldnt fight roy jones..accurate? roy was..calzaghe isnt..he throws punches n bunches 2 make up for his non-accuracy..roy's punches were like lasers.

Tito Trinidad will get his ass owned in January when he meets Roy. Roy looked good in his last 3 tune-up fights. He fights a lil differently now. More on the defensive end than in the past. Either way, Roy Jones at 75% is still better than 95% of the fighters out there. Best P4P All Time!

I meant to push 2 instead of 3. Anyways, Roy's assistant told me they will fight at 170. 5lbs less than hanshaw,and 10 lbs heavier than tito's ever fought. Roy hasnt fought at that weight in over a decade, so it will be a test for him also. Either way, it would be nice to see the Roy of old in January, but i think he has no choice but to evolve as a fighter. That's why he used the rope-a-dope technique the last fight against Hanshaw. He can't rely on his speed and athleticism alone anymore.
