  • During tests the Garand action was proven able to take up to 120,000 psi, at which point the left lug showed signs of cracking.

  • could you do a review on the m1910 ross mark lll can i take the bolt apart and clean it?

  • Excuse me I ment on the left side of the reviver

  • I am sorry the recoil lug recess on the right of the receiver is very strong. Mr Garand did a test proof with a 124K pressure load. The only damage was a cracked lug on the bolt. To say that part of the receive is week is wrong. The garand is probably the strongest semi auto receiver ever made.

  • Your gunsmith needs to pick up a copy of Hatchers notebook.

  • Clip. haha Had to bring that up...

  • well technically when the clip is inserted into the rifle the rounds are now in the magazine. so the magazine loads the rounds into the rifle. the clip loads the rounds into the magazine.

  • His use of clip is appropriate. The garand is one of the few times where a "clip" is actually used, aside from weapons which employ stripper clips. In the modern sense, I cannot think of a weapon which doesn't employ magazines unless you count the M1 or SKS.

  • wow that garand is in bad shape

  • omg if you look on call of duty 4 and look at the m14, then on call of duty 5 and look at the m1 garand, they look extremely similar! I never realized that the m14 was derived from the m1 garand

  • Ugh, dude, don't be the guy that posts COD related stuff on a REAL firearms video.

  • @yerdoom hahaha no shit!

  • ya the main differnts in the m14 has a mag

  • seriously yerdoom is right. stay off these videos

  • really? as soon as i saw an m14 i said "omg that is one screwed up garand! but then i read the caption and found out

  • wow incredible how evolution works =O

  • Yes, the M14/M1A was designed around the M1 Garand. It's essentially a magazine fed version of it.

  • Nice history. Thank you. Please do more.

  • Man, does this bring back memories. I trained with the M1 at Camp LeJune in 1964. The rifle was so old, and the sear so worn, that the rifle would often fire in the full-auto mode. It was a beast of a rifle, but it gave me an awesome feeling of power.

  • hmm a auto garand so like it would hurt. im planning on getting an m1 from a friend for my reenacting with the 2nd rangers f company 2nd as their medic.....ill be getting weapons training at the event....i hear garand thumb is painful.
