  • wow i hate how we just are humans and is bound sometimes to have a religion. ME! i choose my own path. i dont need to believe in some god or spirit. no one in the whole world shouldnt tell me what to do. a human is a free body and spirit. i'll go wherever the fuck i want

  • J'adore quand un commentaire francais s'incruste lol .

  • this is the autobiograhy of Marjane Satrapi, thats what. she wrote a grahic novel and then theres a movie. that simple. Now, search Lipstick Revolution on youtube to see whats happening in Iran now.

  • What is the song used during this scene before the funny "Bzzzz" thing ahppened? Was that from the movie's OST or was that something else?

  • it is islam islam teror teror!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheNikaas Islam is peace

  • han j'adore la fin qui casse tout! XD

  • LOL Nike and Michael Jackson

  • it aint propaganda ....just look at the facebooks of the average Iranians (that live in Iran). They Love this kind of stuff (and I honestly was surprised they even knew who some of these artists/entertainers were with the suppressed environment they have).

  • with the Chador look like snakes!!

  • I wonder who subtitled this, because when they were talking about her jacket, they are clearly saying, in French "and this jacket's to play basketball as well?"

and After that on "Are you kidding me?" Even an English speaker can hear them repeat "Michael Jackson".

Maybe they just wanted to make the subtitles easier to read while still giving you the gist of what's going on.

  • those 2 women DONT EVEN know what punk IS. lol dumb bitches...

  • A-hole who put this video up. As everyone had just said, its an autobiography based ON TRUE events. Iran was like totally 1984 (novel) back than. More or less dramatic. As for the punk/metal music....that obviously played a very important part in marjanes life. DUHHH!!!!

  • JICHAEL MACKSON

  • Wow, a bit less dramatic than the book! I thought they were more like, "Okay, we're letting you go", but I guess they just got bored with her begging and left.

  • cinquante!

  • @evry190 soixante! D:<

  • yeah iron maiden! :D

  • Hahahhaha I loved this movie

  • lol Michael Jackson !!!!!

  • why cant most people understand freedom.

we are humens we are not clones

  • Phew that was really close Marjane. lol

  • omfg i love how the guy who sold her the tape just kinda slid outta the way when the nuns came XD

  • It's a TRUE STORY. It's not set in modern times, this part of the movie is in the 70s. So it's not propaganda.

  • The way I see, those women are slithering around her like snakes, showing us that the laws were a bad influence and the women were its disciples, slithering around Marjane before squeezing her into a complete Iranian. Good hypothesis, yes?

  • patetic goverment

  • Not a propoganda, the situation is all true except the killings and alcohol checkings which are slightly exaggerated. Please don't make videos about things you don't know, let Iranians themselves to make decisions and do the job.

  • You're not Iranian so you don't really know, I was there just a year ago. Yes now it's much better but it used to be like that.

  • You clearly don't have religious tolerance then. People are free to criticize or quit any religion they want.

  • @Maiden6Trooper Well, as long as they aren't in a Shia Islamic Law governed state. According to the Qu'ran under Shia Law if you try to leave the religion you must be killed. Its what has gotten several former Muslims in trouble and forced to flee their home countries.

  • @Maiden6Trooper

...in democracy. which applies barely to 1/4 of the world.

  • This is actually based on a true an autobiographic story and it wasn't set in this era it was set in 1970's.

  • @Blazenix1 - yes, in the 70's and 80's. :)

  • @Blazenix1 - I just saw the movie, and it was from late 70's to early 90's. ;)

  • Its not ablut NOW Its about then.... 1979 to 84 /85

    have you read the book?

  • it was always the same..FREE FROM WESTERN IMPERIALISM

  • @ntm05 That's great... and Western Imperialism has a terrible history in Iran that the West must answer for. That doesn't make Islamic fundamentalism the best alternative, though. The Iranian people should be able to change their state through democratic means when they desire... something they cannot do now with approval from the Islamic guardian council needed to even get on the ballot.

  • @ntm05 this is set in the middle of he iraq-iran war

just after the turbulent iranian revolution which took away many civil freedoms,

it's a bit better now but back then

    it was hell

  • ahaha!!! cute!!

  • lol!
