  • Let me paraphrase a quote from Mafia II: The Philippines is rotten to its core.

Even the government doesn't give a damn about shielding the society away from things that could further degrade and corrupt them.

  • if you want the truth buy book "Marcos Legacy Revisited", "Conspiracies and Controversies", and "Economic Stings" by Erick San Juan on how Ninoy Aquino's death was a Global Conspirator.

  • I don't care what ppl says cause Ninoy was a hero and died for the Philippines.

If Marcos was still ruling the Philippines then everybody would be poor but him. Like North Korea.

  • Ninoy is not a hero, He is An Hero!

  • @lordumpit I know that slang. He did not 'An Hero' himself, someone shot him. Fail.

  • @malot He knew he would get shot, yet he returned, so that's what makes him a "An Hero".

  • What has changed? LOL a whole lot of nothing.. except for wowowee, boracay and more SM malls in PI. The way I see it, the whole country is being exploited by other countries..china, japan, koreans etc. The whole country has gone to shit! At least when marcos was in power he took care of the infastructure. Today, I have to pay some other country xpressway toll just to use the road built on my own country.. WTF is that?!?

  • I believed Ninoy is NOT a hero, instead he should not come back in such a way? He never got the support he needs to come back safely, he was lied by his so called friends to come back knowing he would be killed! Poor guy lack strategy, defending on the people he think were his friends? The Pilipino people look at him as a sacrificial pawn that lite the fire. Sobra na attitude of the Pinoy was the reason Marcos was overthrown even by his so called tuta's (ramos&Enrile). Pare-pareho mga yan?

  • They are just trying to LIVE and be happy about it because there is just too much worry to worry about, something that you FIRST WORLD DICK'S wouldn't understand because you have a government that takes CARE OF YOU! If you lived in this world, born into it, a germ is not a scare, because it's the least of their worries.

  • Hey Buddy! I'm guessing you live in a FIRST WORLD country right? Aren't you sure lucky because you born in a society where opportunity for money runs left and right, and minimum wage jobs are highly available? The government of this country is too BLAME. NOT it's PEOPLE. The people suffered and are fighting the same fight since the Spaniards came over. It's not their fault society changed around them.

  • HINDI AKO MAUUTO NI NINOY.. POLITIKO RIN YAN! HINDI NYA PINAGTANGGOL ANG MGA LIBONG FARMERS NA PINALAYAS SA HACIENDA LUISITA NUN CONGRESSMAN PA SYA WAY BACK 1950's.. PILIPINAS PA KAYA? AT PAANO NAGING BAYANI ANG NAGSUOT NG BULLET PROOF? HINDI AKO MAUUTO SORRY SA MGA KAPWA KO NOYPI.. ISA LANG MASASABI KO... PWE!

  • it doesnt really matter who's the next president in the philippines. you could have the most noble straight as an arrow politician. but problem on lies on the people below . ninoy did what he can to free our country pero tayo pa rin ang problema. CORRUPTION , GREED HUNGER FOR POWER , UNEMPLOYMENT IS ONLY ONE OF THE FEW ILL'S OF OUR COUNTRY. IS THERE HOPE ? YES ONLY IF WE FREE OF THE MALADIES THAT OUR COUNTRY IS AILING US

  • KAHIT ISANG MILYON ANG MAGING HERO HINDI MAGBABAGO ANG GOBYERNONG KURAKOT NG PILIPINAS KAHIT MATINO ANG MGA BATAS NITO. bakiT? papano puro palakasan, kumpa-kumpare, ulti mong nasa gobyerno pasimuno ng kurakutan. NASA MALING UGALI ANG DAHILAN NG PAGHIHIRAP NG MGA FILIPINO -MAHIHIRAP. HINDI KASI TAYO MARUNONG MAGTANGGOL NG SALIGANG BATAS ANG 1987 KONSTITUSYON.

  • The problem is, the sheep still are allowed to choose their shepard. When the sheep are uneducated, they will blindly and happily choose a wolf in office to devour them.

To solve the problem, someone with sound judgment and strong conviction must change the form of government. The philippines in its current state cannot function properly. democracy has failed.

  • Now here's the problem. We had a country which at one time was prosperous yet freedom was curtailed. Now we have more freedom but poverty. Why can't we just work hard to make a country that's both free AND prosperous?

  • you people dont know what youre talking about.....specially those who think marcos was a better president...c'mon open your eyes to reality..

  • Honestly, if your with Marcos you guys must be dumb. Ninoy would of done so many better things to change the Philippines, instead of all this insanity that you see here now.

  • It sure has gotten WORST, dahil na rin sa 'ting lahat. FILIPINOS are highly intellectual people thats why they like to debate and argue, aside from we are SURVIVORS as well. Its POLITICS, POWER AND GREED. These are the three things that instead of uniting we all clash with each other and divide the nation behind our back. There is still hope for PINAS!

  • nothing has changed after the aquino assasination. it just made things worse. now, how could you say he (benigno) is a a hero? just because he was shot like rizal? hero na agad? magpabaril na tayo lahat kung ganun. opinion ko ito kaya manigas ang kokontra.

  • He knew he would die coming back to the RP, but knew it would take his death to free the RP. He died for not only our country but selflessly for the good of the people. He is a martyr. I read an article (in Cdn) that put Ninoy in front of JFK & Ghandi, arguing that Ninoy knew he would die that day and did it to free us. He was a hero the second he stated he didn't not want to seek political office anymore. He just wanted a free Philippines. Long live Ninoy.

  • nothing has changed? how about the right to say what you want to say without being worried about getting killed. or being arrested because the president believed you will do something wrong in the future (yes marcos created that law). yes, the philippines is a 3rd world country and filled with corrupt leaders. but, that is the falt of leaders today who choose to steal. ninoy became a hero because his death caused people to wake up and fight for their freedom to say whatever they want to say.

  • to u xdestinee619x: i just wonder if u were already aware of the big difference coz i myself had observed it being born in the late 50's. i also know that too much freedom or abusing freedom is the main reason why our country can't fly high. look what's happening to our senate/congress,they got too much freedom to speak, argue, fight etc. for their personal political reasons. how about their pending laws to pass? i still believe, that if not for martial law, maybe we would end up as a communist

  • the senate/congress and the rest of the govt was already corrupt during martial law. we borrowed so much foreign money that the marcos' stole that up to this day were still in debt. however, during martial law, all those documents were kept hidden from the public thats why it seemed like a perfect society. if you really think freedom is causing corruption then i cant change your opinion. however, look at other countries that are continue.........

  • ..... prospering even with a free society. countries in europe or america for example. dont take for granted YOUR freedom to write what you just wrote previously. no, i dont think freedom is the problem. the problem is, we have too much corrupt officials today that care more about themselves than the welfare of their country. anyways, its too bad were in youtube. i like to discuss about different positions but its kind of hard to do so in this site.

  • @xdestinee619x i beg to disagree that ninoy is a hero. he was just a sweet talker.. Mr. Sarsa -- as most of his colleagues have described him. Ninoy is just an ordinary politician protecting their own interest. Anyways, it was the clash of Marcos versus honasan-enrile-ramos that paved way the uprising of 1986. Filipinos are just emotional, even up to now. Too bad, we would be making the same mistake again if Noynoy wins. =(

  • While I respect your opinion, I really have to disagree. First of all, when you stereotype a large group of people, your most likely going to be wrong. for example, i am filipino but i am not emotional. I admire ninoy for unbiased reasons. First, he was locked up for about 8 years for only standing up for what he believes in. When he was locked up, they made a deal with him. if just let go of his principles, admit he was wrong and marcos was right, then he would be able to go free. cont.....

  • part 2: However, instead of taking the easy way out, he refused to give up on his beliefs. He sacrificed his opportunity to spend time with his family. if he had his own agenda, he would have forgotten his pride. secondly, he was already free in america. he was living happily with his family. yet, he chose to go to the PI, knowing he would die, just to rile his supporters to fight for democracy.

    go to next comment.......

  • you may not agree with what he stood for, but you cant deny the sacrifices he made to do what he believed was right for the filipino people.

He was not only a sweet talker because he actually followed up to what he said. they werent empty words.

again this is based on unbiased well-studied research and experience. not on emotional bias.

  • @xdestinee619x Yea its too bad that he died and his wife didnt deliver. what a fuckin waste.

  • It will take GENERATIONS for the Philippines to catch up with the values and wealth of our neighboring South East Asian countries through a PEACEFUL process. This change can only be done faster through a complete REVOLUTION and CHANGE in leadership and power base. The electoral process has been corrupted ... our constitution has already been corrupted ... what we need is a complete change.

  • Agreed

  • i think its not worth it. we just open the pandoras box that results to many corrupt politician, giving them ways to destroy the republic by gaining for themselves interest. well better if we let marcos rule for we know for a fact we only have one culprit unlike having them so many now a days...

  • Not worth it. The traffic dude tried to look for something but he ddnt find any, he pointed at the dusty plate number instead and made a big deal out of it. Not to mention this happened on broad daylight. he's one of the many motherfuckers that tells me it aint worth it.

  • b4 ninoy aquino's death, Philippines is one of the greatest country and is admired in Asia because of rich company and technology, after ninoy aquino's death, philippines started his downful upto now that the country were suffering from HUGE POVERTY.

  • Thousand of Filipinos torchered and killed. No freedom, no democracy, no hope. Ninoy gave us the keys to get out of the cell. It is up to us to use them wisely. We can only blame ourselves if we can't find our way out of the jail.

  • Let's get rid of Gloria Arroyo & all the corrupt politicians first.!!!

  • As i read your comments people. i have proven one thing that pinoys are really bunch of intellectuals. Siguro sa dami na nakikita nating kamalian sa ating bansa, we all are looking for the right formula. Some have resorted to leave the country and making promises that they will come back and help.you leave for personal reason, to earn money period. While some exudes patriotism that i believe he just read in one of Rizal's book. Honestly, yung paglingon sa pinanggalingan will not fit in tlga!!!

  • Aquino has made the P.I. worse, period.

  • Marcos put us down the tubes when all our neighbours started to flourish. We got left behind because of him. Imagine where we would be if Ninoy won in the 70's before martial law. We'd be the tiger of asia. The Marcos era set the bed for Philippine politics. Without power for so long, we didn't know what to do with it once we had it. Long live Ninoy.

He is respected throughout the world. I have a Ninoy t-shirt and when i wear it, it makes me proud to be a Filipino.

  • kevonv888- i pity you for chosing to take the side of benign00 and friends. Look at you now? Trying so hard to express yourself in English and acquiring their crab and colonial mentality.

  • juvenil - You make it sound like you are still in high-school, your comments are too immature. I'm pretty sure kevon888 is old enough to decide which arguments make sense. What crab mentality are you talking about? You're the one who wants the rest of the country to stop progressing. You speak in English and yet don't want the rest of the population to speak it - you contradict yourself. What colonial mentality? They teach English in school.

  • juveniledm... I pity you more because you are still snowed under your glorified, mushy, and subjective ideals and beliefs.

I took the side of benign00, NotAFencesitter, and psychedup247 for the simple and obvious reason that they have "well-developed brains" unlike you, that siento guy and a lot of other fellow Pinoys.

  • It simply means that there's high unemployment in the Philippines. If we create more local jobs, invest more in the Philippines then this problem would be remedied in a way. The Japanese managed to overtake us in the recovery after World War II simply because they helped build their own nation, their own countrymen first instead of lining in the foreign embassies hoping to get a visa abroad.

  • The value in being proficient in English is not at all about working abroad. It has everything to do precisely with what you say about "creating more local jobs". Where does the ability to "create" jobs come from"? It comes from turning raw resources into assets that generate income. You need expertise and technology to do that.

Count how many business, engineering, and finance books/journals are written in English and how many are written in Tagalog and you'll get your answer.

  • De Philippines is not doing that turning raw into assets. Our skilled workers are going and now working abroad. The government is not creating jobs, they're destroying our sound system to let our good workers into abroad. Most of them will do, and government is happy about its because the income that they're gaining are much more goods than of our currency. So with dat, they can keep those foreign money as an assets of our country. De problem perists because they just let the country die itself!

  • they have the loot of the ww2 to bankroll the recovery.

  • The primacy of being fluent in English comes to play when one considers that the only way of making a good living is working abroad. However, one must ask the question, how come the number one domestic helper is Filipino?

It simply means that there's high unemployment in the Philippines. If we create more local jobs, invest more in the Philippines then this problem would be remedied in a way.

  • juvenil-When & who ever said that everyone should learn to speak English so everyone can go abroad? Our point is about being more competitive to foreign companies who are still willing to invest in the country.Would you rather lose out to India for example because you feel your national pride is being damaged once everyone knows how to speak English? Would you rather that companies like Intel for example, go elsewhere? Who's going to suffer? Filipinos too because there will be less jobs

  • Common stupid misconconceptions about the use of English language: 1) It will make one a part of the "Elite"; 2) It will make other people think HIGHLY of you; 3) It CURES all economic ailments; and 4) It will bring wealth and PROGRESS to the individual and to the nation

  • juvenil-You need to ask sientoporsiento about your points 1 & 2 because to quote:"Kayo talagang mayayaman at mga intelihente. Masyado kayong manglait at mang api sa kapwa nyo!" He came to this conclusion upon seeing a discussion in English. You'll be able to answer your points 3 & 4 because you seem able to write in English so should feel the difference in your confidence level.

Writing and speaking in English is just an additional skill. Nobody said we should forget about Tagalog completely.

  • juveniledm (part3),

And besides, even in countries where the people speak amongst themselves only the native language, the ability to speak English is an asset that is required in any field, because of cross-international business relations, and any country who wants to build it's economy is going to have to do business with another country whether they want to or not, importation and exportation is how the world's countries build their economies.

  • juveniledm (part2),

Isn't English also part of our Filipino heritage as a nation? So using it isn't being unnationalistic at all.

  • I don't think so dude. The Philippines fails to prosper because Pinoys continue to be unable to face simple truths about themselves -- truths that are key to that prosperity that seems to forever elude us.

And just a warning -- one more baseless speculation on the personal cirucumstances of any of the commentors here and your outta here as well. The irony here is that you seem to exhibit the very traits I talk about that hinder progress in our society.

    Stick to the issue.

  • benign00,

    Stop being so righteous

  • And you stop being judgmental - specially of caregivers and English speakers.

  • benign00, siento's been plaguing me in my personal messages inbox with his usual senseless tirades since he got blocked in here. Poor guy. Glad he got blocked. He hardly contribute anything logical in here anyway.

kevonv888, thank you for seeing right through my comments. Welcome aboard ;)

  • psychedup247, the pleasure's mine. It wasn't really hard seeing right through your comments, well if one has an open/logical mind like what you said in one of your comments here. But unfortunately there are the likes of sientoporsientopinoy with "glucose-deficient neurons" (btw, that's a witty comeback. I laughed so hard on that one, you must be in the medical profession or something?) who are unwilling to accept intelligent critigues.

  • juvenil-you never really address any of the arguments. You just keep repeating what you say and is now resorting to name calling just like the others before you.

Let's say only 99% of Filipinos speak tagalog, what would be the advantage if 100% speak tagalog then? Do you think we can attract foreign investors with this? How about corruption, overpopulation, environmental catastrophes, transportation& energy problems.

Have you even seen a video with the late Ninoy speaking? It's in english

  • juveniledm,

I am a med student specializing in neurosurgery.

The caregivers (here in Canada or elsewhere around the globe) you so casually mock are earning 100x more than you. And their remittances are what's keeping your economy alive.

  • WOW! psychedup247, so you're gonna be a neurosurgeon sometime soon? Amazing! (Beat that juveniledm!) I bet you'd do a lot of brain surgery when you get to the Philippines. We have a lot of countrymen like juveniledm who have brain dysfunctions.

  • Filipinos have to work on their sense of NATIONALISM to achieve REAL development not only on the economic aspect, but moreso on all aspects of our nationhood - social, cultural, political, spiritual. Loving your own language is the first step towards nationalism which will then pave the way for PROGRES!!!!

"He who doesn't know how to love his own language has a worse odor than a smelly fish. -J.Rizal"

  • It's as if corruption and proverty will magically disappear once everyone is speaking Tagalog.Corruption can understand any dialect you know. In reality, big companies want to employ people who are also fluent in English. It was just in the news a few weeks ago that there were 700 jobs from multi-national companies during a recent job fair and only a handful were accepted due to the fact that most of the applicants were not fluent in English. How can you expect people to rise from poverty then?

  • NotAFencesitter - You and your likes in here are missing the point entirely when you (et al)insist that to find jobs we should know English.

  • juvenil-People can get a job even if they don't know how to speak English. But will they get a high paying job? You guys seem to hate the "elite" because you think they get all the opportunities and yet you guys are also against the things that seem to open doors for them (like being able to speak English well).

With all due respect to Rizal, but he said those words during a different era.I don't think he was against learning another language other than Tagalog. He was a multi-lingual after all.

  • Using English is merely training our people to serve the interests of other nations. No wonder we are now living in a society of diaspora!

  • How many of Rizal' writings don't "smell like fish?" Weren't most of it written in Spanish? Just a thought.

Nationalism is good, but when it's misplaced and is coming up with objectives that offer a glaring view into the Filipinos' own insecurities about language, then nationalism can be detrimental to the growth of a nation in that respect.

  • You just disrespected our national hero!

Nationalism comes with loving and being proud of our own language. Nationalism is important in order to really contribute to real development that we all aim for. Thus we should all reinstate the use of our national language.

  • juveniledm (part1),

I did not in any way disrespected Rizal. You just didn't get the gist of my comment.

Now, with regards to your take on nationalism, I believe those who are against English as a language in the Philippines are misguided in their sense of nationalism. You shouldn't be against English just because you think it will be unnationalistic or show that Filipinos aren't proud to be Filipino, that's an obnoxious notion.

  • juveniledm, I presume you are one of those who takes heavy offense on the use of English as our language.

Bud, you have to accept the fact that English gives us more opportunities to express our hopes and dreams to the world and gives us a fighting chance as well to reach them. You, in your cozy ivory tower of fluffy ideals, would condemn them to stick with Tagalog because you (who by the way have a choice of either language) have deemed it demeaning for them to learn and/or use?

  • kevonv888, my answer is a resounding YES!English is not our "own" language, Tagalog is. Stop your colonial mentality!

  • juvenildm...you are doing our countrymen a disfavor by withholding any opportunity for them to expand their saleable skills (talk about crab mentality!!). It's not about being non-nationalistic; it's just about being "realistic" and coping with the world. Don't turn a blind eye to the "reality" that in the Phil. society, the ability to speak really well in the English language opens a lot of door of employment and business opportunity that will allow them to lead a "better life."

Quit being bitter pare. Face the truth.

  • kevonv888-Thanks man.I feel like I'm in the twilight zone sometimes when I read comments that have no basis-like people hating me because of my preference to speak in English. There's just no convincing people that we are not the enemy.I just hate the fact that they cannot see beyond their same old tired arguments & don't want to accept that change in attitude will do our country good

It's really sad that the Phils will never progress because there are so many Filipinos like Sientoporsiento

  • NotAFencesitter, no prob. I feel you. It's really disappointing that we are outnumbered by the likes of sientoporsientopinoy and now I guess this new one here juvenildm. I wonder what it would really take to enlighten them.

  • NotAFencesitter, you trying to whip out more support or should I say sympathy with this comment or message? Appealing to emotion, huh? Pathetic.

You ought to be the one who needs to change attitude.

  • Sientoporsientopinoy...I did not turn tail and flee as you so delicately put it. As soon as I have risen out of financial difficulties I will definitely go back to our island and share my good fortune to my country and countrymen by establishing businesses and schools.

  • kevon888, thanks for your responses! Just for yours, psyched, and notafencesitter's info, I had to block sientoporsientopinoy as he kinda went ballistic shortly after what seems to be notafencesitter's last comment (or it could be psychedup's) a couple of days ago and continued posting more and more off-tangent comments. Anyways, maybe he will send you all a personal message instead at some point (like a few others in the past did). Who knows...

  • benign00...no problem!

I have actually been receiving messages from him. He's basically trying to convince me with his seemingly tortous logic. And he's mad as hell right now because he got blocked from posting comments here and to your other vidz.

  • kevon888, why am i not surprised by what you just wrote? Anyways, I've deleted some of his posts that no longer added any value to this discussion. He fails to appreciate the fact that I retained all of the other previous comments he made before he lost it.

"Torturous" is a good description indeed.

  • benign00... the country will continue to be in trouble if the likes of sientoporsientopinoy will continue to flourish.

  • Sientoporsientopinoy...you have to give due credits to pscyhedup1247, benigOO, and notafencesitter.

  • Sientoporsientopinoy...watch your words naman pare.

  • Clever video! It's really sad how nothing's changed in the Philippines since Ninoy and how it hasn't achieved progress until now.

Got some really interesting and edifying discussion here!

  • Japan, Korea, and China as well as Germany, France, and others all have strong track records of achievement and their own native languages' vocabularies reflect and support this, just as Canada, the US and the UK -- English (and French in the case of Canada) speaking countries do.

    NO I am not.

But here are the facts. Families who can afford it send their kids to schools that have a reputation for delivering high-quality English language instruction. What does this mean? Obviously English is seen as a language that opens doors for its speakers. Get past your resentment of this reality.

  • benign00,

  • It's simple. If you agree then that English is a language that opens opportunities, then I ask you this: WHO's responsibility is it to learn it?

If you come across and DECIDE to join a discussion that is being undertaken in English, do you have the right to stomp around demanding that people speak in Tagalog?

  • benignoo,

  • Depends on what you mean by "nilait at siniraan". If you took offense at a statement of FACT, then therein lies the problem. Sometimes the truth hurts. It is up to each one of us to reflect and figure out if we can HANDLE this truth.

You do have a right to be informed. But do not presume to dictate the TERMS of how the information is presented. If the information is expressed in English, then you either STEP UP to understanding it in English, or change the channel.

  • benignoo,

  • Thanks for your curiosity. I defend her because I subscribe to her views, not because of anything else. If you prefer this kind of tsismis-based discussion, I suggest you go elsewhere (like all those Pinoy Big Brother videos where those types of talk prevail).

As to her comments on mediocrity. I agree with that as well. The poverty of da Pinas speaks for itself. If we weren't a mediocre society, then prosperity would have come to us decades ago.

  • (part 2)

They know they are not secure in their economic perches; they need a hedge and an extra edge in their continuing search for innovation and competitiveness.

See? These countries have opted to "think" outside the box. Do you get what I'm saying?

  • psychedup247,

Hahaha!

  • siento,(part1)

It's not being "gaya gaya." We just have to follow their examples.

I was raising a practical, real world perspective. The job market, the world of entrepreneurship and business, are using English and in that world mastery of this language, plus skills in the math and science are what really matters. Let's take the case of India. Even Indians these days are shaking their school systems to improve their English proficiency.

  • siento, (part2)

India has earned billions of dollars for its people because of its acquisition of English profiency and science skills. Its $20-billion-a-year IT and IT-enabled services provide more than a million jobs to its young population. You see, the urgency of improving it's population's English language skills is not lost on it's leaders and people in spite of some "nationalists" who are agitating on the primacy of their national language.

  • psychedup247,

Hangal.

  • siento,

Much as I would want to answer your query, I think it would just be useless to do so.

Seems to me that you have glucose deficient neurons thus the improper brain functioning leading to a limited thinking capacity. You need to fix up first. And after you do, just give us a buzz again and then let's have an intelligent and prolific discussion here so we can become the change that we desire and find the solutions that we seek.. for the betterment of our people and our country.

  • siento, (part3)

Now let's have Japan. Japan has been priding itself for its virtue of clinging highly to its national language. But now the Japanese are scrambling to learn English - and fast - because of the increasing competition from Western multinational corporations that are achieving efficiencies derived from outsourcing, something that Japanese firms couldn't do because of language barriers. A fact also not lost to South Korean - Japan's rival in high-end electronics.

  • siento, (part4)

Just why these two countries have now been sending their people to the US, UK, and Australia, to acquire proficiency in the English language.

Lastly,Singapore. This tiny island state continues to grow fast on the strength of its services and trading sectors because it has maintained its global competitiveness. Why? Because its people speak the global language on top of its major attraction as a place where the rule of law, transparency and public sector efficiency prevail.

  • siento, (part5)

You see, we have a lot to learn from these countries. More than acquiring proficiency in the global language, [we] also need to work on having the discipline and the right attitude. [We} should also fix our way of "thinking." Let's give rise to critical, innovative, and philosophical thoughts.

  • siento, (part1)

We are now in the age of Globalization (as NOtAFencesitter mentioned) and English has emerged as the global language that is widely used in information technology, int'l trades, jobs, businesses, etc. It is true that those countries you mentioned have become progressive without straying away from the use of their own lingua franca.

But guess what? These countries right now are sending their progenies to every English speaking country around the world to learn the language.

  • sientoporsientopinoy,

I posted your private message to me below. And guess what? Your kind of approach and thinking only proves how you're just another intellectually-challenged Pinoy. Okay, allow me to answer that lame question of yours.

  • psychedup247,

    "Intellectually-challenged"?

Ibig mong sabihin, bobo ako ganun ba? Eh ikaw ano ka? Bilasang isda!!!

  • siento,

The manner by which you present your arguments, your thought process, and your attitude are clear manifestations of how much you are intellectually-challenged.

  • psychedup247,

  • siento, (part 1)

I do not understand where your angsts are directed. What I do know is that you are angry at me for pointing out matters of fact:

    1. That the Phils is in a sh*thole right now because of the dysfucntionalities in their "thinking," "attitude," and "culture";

    2. That you are intellectually-challenged as evidenced by the lack of substance in your comments and your constant use of expletives in the false hope of trying to get your message across

  • siento, (part 2)

You hardly come up with sound arguments. All you have are false accusations and illogical beliefs.

If you really wanna make a difference and help the country you have to have an open and logical mind.

  • psychedup247,Sige nga, tignan ko nga ang talino mo. Ano bang sinasabi mong dysfuntionalities dyan????

  • siento,

The dysfunctionalities? Again, watch the video. The answers are pretty much in there. And then look at yourself too, you very much display some of the other dysfunctionalities not mentioned in the vid.

  • psychedup247,

    "Chutzpah"? "Obtuse"? "Delude"? "Nonchalant"?

    Wow, BIG WORDS!!!!!!

  • Dude, I suggest you get a dictionary, and use it. If you continue to have trouble understanding English, then I suggest you go to a website that is 100% Pinoy. Your name seems to suggest that you prefer things that way.

  • benign00,

  • sientoporsiento-Your insistance that Filipinos only speak in Tagalog is wrong. In this age of globalization, every Filipino should be able to speak in English as fluently as tagalog to be able to compete with the rest of the world. I find your arrogance a reverse discrimination against people who prefer to express themselves in English. It doesn't make any sense.Benign00's messages are always about equality and eliminating poverty

  • sientoporsientopinoy,

Being able to speak or write in the English language is not arrogance nor a dissenter against the nationalist cause.

Tagalog is already your first language. You have been using it since the day you learn to speak and write. Why not learn a second language?

I propose you try to learn the English language too. I tell you, the ability to speak and write English well opens countless doors of opportunity not only in the Phils but elsewhere around the world too.

  • sientoportiento -Using bad language is a sign that you are running out of rational things to say. The issue goes much deeper than language barriers. I believe it has a lot to do with the insecurities of a certain group of people which you belong to, who have a victim mentality. Why do you keep thinking that Filipinos who speak English are just nanglalait? Even if the person talking in English wants equality and justice for all Filipinos, you still think that nanglalait lang siya?! What the..?

  • siento-You said:"Tama na nga yang kakaingles nyo!Kaya hindi umuunlad ang Pilipinas e dahil sa mga kagaya nyo"

    My reply:

1.Nobody forced u to join a discussion that is in English.

2.Nobody said that you speak purely English.

But you on the other hand, feel insulted when we speak in English.English is much a part of my life as Tagalog ever since I was a kid and you don't have the right to tell me what language to use just to please you.Attitude is the problem in the Phils not the language

  • Notafencesitter,

  • siento-It does not matter what language we use, what's more important is if ideas are being discussed not accusations or name calling. You have to get over your negativity towards people who are not from your circle.I'm sure we are all for the country's prosperity but you just have to stop torturing yourself and accept the fact that English is already part of our history and culture. We need more concept and ideas not blame game - do you have any ideas at all on how to improve the country?

Yang ganyang pag iisip kung bakit naunlad ang pinas.sige tuloy mo paglingon mo, malalaman mo na lang that you belong to that meat between the legs. Speak up in a language that u feel comfortable ok..dapat ang login name mo sentiporsentipinoy...sentimental ka masyado, yan ang nagpapabagal sa tin.

Natural! HOW ABOUT TRADITIONS?

Subali't ang "habit" natin na igalang ang mga matatandang makasalanan ay mali...dahil nasa pananampalataya rin ang "you're as culpable of the sin if you condone the sinner".

  • So you really only wanna hear/read/watch peachy things about the country and the society in spite of all the dysfuntionalities that obviously manifests itself??? Wow, way to go to delude yourself.

  • I don't think that the video nor my comments intend to bash the country or its people. It's not "Paninira." It's TELLING THINGS AS IT IS and recognizing that something neeeds to be done to correct it.

For example, if you have a daughter who has gotten failing marks in school, would you tell her like it is or would you say, "Wow, you're a genius!" Of course you need to tell her that her grades are objectionable so she can change her ways and improve, right?

MAHIYA KAYO.

  • The problem with us is when we try to discuss something intelligently, it comes across as "mayabang" for some bizarre reason.

Perhaps this is the reason our society is unable to progress -- because everyone is reserved in their voicing out an opinion for fear of being perceived as 'mayabang' and being told "akala mo kung sino'.

  • Precisely, benign00. Merely having the chutzpah for asserting what's right or when you go against their obtuse beliefs is being quickly labeled by most here as "mayabang."

  • dapat dyan sa mga kurakot na politician, leader at military official sunugin nang buhay!!!!! it's time for them to disappear from this world.

  • I tell you, my fellow filipinos, do you know who is the real leader of our nation? It is us Filipinos, Filipinos who are committed to serve the country and the people, from the lowest people to the highest people we have to show our best to give even a small piece of goodness that can help the Philippines.

As Ninoy said "Filipinos are worth dying for", I personally think that is undoubtly and greatly true, if we help ourselves in helping a nation to help its people, and that people is us.

  • impressive video and analysis of the country's state! well done again!

this video very well depicts the sad story of the phils. the last couple of years. nothing's changed.

the people contented themselves living in mediocrity and the utterly dysfunctional culture. it just sucks!

the time for a REAL change is looooooooong overdue. i hope the filipinos realize this before the country becomes totally debilitated.

  • psychedup247,

"Living in mediocrity? Dysfunctional culture? Sucks?"

    That's just so wrong!!!

At anong "dysfunctional culture," aber?

    Wag masyadong arogante at mapagmataas!

  • sientoporsientopinoy,

Did you even watch the video?? The answers are right there. Aren't they??

It's a bitter pill to swallow I know. But don't you "think" that the first step into bettering something is to FIRST ACKNOWLEDGE ITS FLAWS and then eventually do something about it?

Don't pretend to be deaf and blind to the nation's current state and why this is so.

Refusing to see the truth and remaining nonchalant about it are the more "arrogant" sin, don't you "think"?

  • lololololol

    stupid ninoy

    he wasted his life

  • Ah, so your saying Ninoy wasted his life.

You're saying that because were not progressing, isn't it?

Well, if we do not help each other in building our nation, we wouldn't be in such a mess right now in our country! Then his sacrifice will not be wasted and be just called as another drama in our troubled History!!!

  • Sometimes I think the masses are to dumb to realize that we have our bourgeois democracy back. And still these people powers address nothing but the toppling of oppressors to replace with new fresh oppressor ruling classes. The urban peti-bourgeois rallyists are too stupid to fall for yet again a yellow lard ass cory aquino bullshitese.

  • 2010 Make a Change... JFK said "My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what can you do for your country"

how you can do this if the leaders are hunger in powers!

    Nice Vids

  • I believe the people for Aquino were the ones who had him killed so that this will trigger the so called revolution which was not one. The Americans were the ones who were responsible for the pick up of Marcos, because they had their planes aim at the tanks of the government. And if Joseph Estrada runs again, it will be a big shame, he did a lot of corruption but then Cory Aquino is still siding with him. The Filipinos need to wake up, nothing changed since Marcos, politicians are still bad.

  • Ninoy Said "Filipinos are worth dying for". But are we really worth it? Let us choose the right person which can lead our Nation to progress and prosperity. This minute folks are telling PGMA to resign. What can it do?will it magically let the crisis disappear?will it give every single filipino good jobs?will it make our country an economic tiger once again?NO.nothing changes but the person in power.WE FILIPINOS, RIGHT NOW, HAVE THE RIGHT TO LEAD THE PHILIPPINES TO PROGRESS OR TO POVERTY.

  • Brilliant summary of 25 years. What's even more insane is if Erap run for office again and get voted by the same people who booted him out of office a few years ago! C'mon guys, in future elections, let's use our head and vote for the right people who have a vision to lead the country into a more progressive one. Not someone who just wants to accumulate wealth at the expense
