Baseball wouldn't even be a sport if not for drugs. They're just using the wrong drugs now. Baseball needs to get back to its heritage, mounds of coke.
People call baseball boring... It wasn't boring when the players were coked off their tits and could hammer out nine innings in one hour. Babe Ruth was an overweight, old chain-smoker and was better than these flamers with their growth hormones.
To them (*) that means nothing. there all multimillionairs. Many of them own there own night clubs and bars. These men are more thab baseball players now, there business owners. Money drives The DOminican to take there kids out of school and put them into baseball school, and why college kids Juice for a signing contract. Min wage in MLB is 75k a WEEK! thats insentive enough for anyone
Its not the golden age of the Homerun, the homeruns were LIES! And why do you think these atheltes dont give a damn what we think of them? Because at the end of the day there laughing all the way to the bank.
People in this world they to see records broken they want see to the home run hitters so the media has forced sports and entertainment to take that route so thats why players like bonds,sosa,a-rod used steroids because they wanted deliver above and beyond expectations.
BULLSHIT !!! A-Rod like Roger and all the others who cheated, brough this on them selves. Give us back the game we grew up with, that we loved as kids.
You don't think there are any cheaters that are already HOFers? Gaylord Perry admitted using the illegal spitball on a consistent basis, and Don Sutton also used it. Babe Ruth and others were known to cork their bats. You have all these old HOFers crying about the integrity of the game being lost, but what about their use of banned amphetamines?
You still have to be a phenomenal ballplayer to accomplish the things that Bonds, Clemens, and others accomplished.
Yes...I blame MLB and the commissioner AFTER '91 (Selig) but Bonds, A-Rod, and Tejada along w/ others were GROWN ASS MEN who could've made better decisions for themselves, but chose not to. Therefore, A-Rod and others will not get a pass on this because NOBODY forced them to take ILLEGAL anabolic steroids. Steroids were banned from baseball in '91 under former commissioner Fay Vincent. Players didn't listen and neither did the owners...that's why they put Selig in...it's now time to pay up.
Ultimately, yes. I think the passive indifference of the commissioner and others who waited so long for it to get out of control. But they didn't put a needle in any professional player's arm.
I seem to recall seeing this play out in a movie once. there's a scene where someone sings a rousing national anthem and everybody is having a great time. then the scum-bag authority shows up and decides that everybody is having "much too good a time" and demands that it all be shut down. so the lackey authority has to improvise... "I'm shocked-- shocked to find that everybody is cheating", then a hired hand comes in "your improved numbers", and the lackey goes "oh, thank you, very much...!"
a-rod's a grown man with ridiculous talent......to blame major league baseball is retarded....they didn't tell anyone to do it and if you did they turned a blind eye. It makes no sense for A-Rod to have taken steroids as he was already a proven superstar now he's pretty much thrown all his accomplishments steriod aided or not out the window...what a tool.
I am a massive Yankees fan. Nevertheless, * Rod, is a cheat. No ifs, no buts. * Rod is a disgrace to the former legends that once graced this great game. If he doesn't want the * next to his name. MLB must take away all his ROID hits from the Texas Rangers. Simple as that. If not. * Rod forever it shall be.
"Bud" Selig has no backbone...MLB knew this mess was happening as early as 1988 (Jose Canseco - Oakland A's) and I would have to say the players union ignored potential issues like this early on. They took an opposing view against MLB owners and the doping scandal MLB and the union should have agreed as early as 1998. They both dislike each other to the point they couldn't compromise - and this is the result - inaction. One person's op to what Zennie has pointed out. JG
They should start banning people like ARod from baseball, that will get the message across.
But the truth is, you should not have to ban anyone.
They players should know that little kids are looking up to them, so much so that no player would dare take drugs because if the hearts that would break when the news gets out...
ARod knew better,
But he spit on the game and on baseball fans in an effort to cheat on the other players who dont break the rules.
I also think that ARod knows full well that my answer to- "Give the money back", is the only answer that will work for him.
ARod has got to be thinking to himself right now - "I love the game, I have given my whole life to this game, I have put in the time, so there is just no way Im going to live the rest of my life watching 8 year old kids point at me and whisper to each other- "Cheater"
No! NO! NO!! This story is All ARod's fault. All his fault. Not the game's fault Not the Commissioner's fault Not the fan's fault Not the union's fault If ARod even hints in a conversation that he might try to blame anyone but himself he has lost all my respect. Cheaters always do this when they get caught. They want to spin the story so that dont look so bad. But the truth is that this is all 100% ARod's fault
Well A-Rod used in 2003 where there were no rules against steroids and what really puzzles me is how much of a hit the Yankees are taking he used when he was on the Rangers and has been clean since its just crap. GO YANKS
I would like to see graphs showing the percentage of runs that are from home runs and RBI from home runs year-to-year. If it gets too high, the game becomes degraded.

They just need to freakin ban a player that uses Steroids Permanently.
They have a choice when they take it and they know they are cheating!!
Its not all this bull shit that comes out of some players mouths saying "I didn't know what i was taking". All of that is bull crap

The sportswriters are also to blame for turning their backs on the issue until after the fact. Good job Zennie.

A-Rod, Marion Jones (who I vigorously once defended!!!!!), what's the difference.
Ms. Jones (and her innocent teammates!!!), was stripped of all gold medals.
What do you think should happen to A-Rod, Clemens, Petite, and so on?

I don't believe in comparing sins to make mine look normal or smaller than another's.
So dont compare ARod to another player and say, "Everyone was doing it"
If you want to compare ARod to someone then compare him to the player he could be.
He could be an honest player that has nothing to hide.
a role model.
Hes not that right now.
But he could be that player.
He could be a player that wont have an Asterisk by his name to show the hits in the drug years.
He has work to do to get there however.

If people know something is wrong, if they know full well that this might be called "Cheating" then they should not do it.
Case closed.
The more you love the game the more you work to keep it clean.
Players that truly love the game do not cheat.
You cant cheat and love the game.
ARod cheated...
He will be forever known as a "cheater"
Unless he comes forth and acts in a manner that people that love the game act in...
So far, he has a lot of work to do.

Why do I not blame the Baseball Commissioner?
Because Zennie, the Commissioner did nothing wrong!
The Commissioner has nothing to do with a guy sticking needles into his body in an effort to cheat on other players who dont cheat.
The error here is totally ARod's.
He let himself and his family as well as kids and fans all across the country down.
Cheating is cheating.
I dont go for that lame excuse- "I was under a lot of pressure"
Good players dont need to cheat

If ARod really wants to fix this situation and have it cleaned from his life from now on?
Give the money back...
That is all it would take.
It's so simple, just give the money back that he was paied for the years he was on drugs.
Do this, and he becomes a national hero.
Dont do this and he will be connected to drugs for the rest of his life.
It's up to him, but I would give all the money back and take this off the table.
