this is soooo easy! -.- the flame is "removing/burning" the oxygen wich makes vacuum, theres no air to pull in so it will pull up the wine. and this works with all liquids that is like wine/water etc (thin). when i learned this i used a teacandle ( as in norwegian) a little candle that can float and wont be put out (untill all oxygen is out).

for a fire to continue, it needs oxygen, fuel(candle) and heat.. it has heat and fuel but the oxygen is limited because of the glass so as the fire consumes the oxygen, space is decreasing but there has to be something to fill the space so the wine i being absorbed.. i hope its clear.. it's also used in doing a massage..
