It bothered me that the judges didn't nail them for all the side by side and hand to hand skating. But I guess when you're skating in your home country and you're the defending world champions, you'll get some leeway.

Well atleast they didnt win. It would have been a travesty if they won this event when how far they were outskated by Klimova & Ponomarenko at these Olympics. Lets be real, there is absolutely no chance they were going to drop any lower than 2nd being the reigning World Champoins in their own country. In fact another team had to blow them out of the water to beat them and K&P did that , and yet the Duchensays were still 1 judge in both the OD and FD from winning believe it or not.

That was one thing that really bugged me, how close the Duchesnays were winning both the OD and FD. I had them no higher than 4th in both dances (and 4th as well in the compulsories). But like we said, they had hefty reputations and they were skating in their home country. Oh well.

Yeah it is scary to think how close they were to winning. Just ridiculous.
