  • Stop fighting over issues and just enjoy the music by Sousa! (And the piccolo solo!)

  • SHEIKE MUSLIM

BARACK HUSSEIM OBAMA ?????? WAKE UP AMERICA

  • I'm Canadian, but this march is awesome

  • This is epic do you guys agree?

  • if you dislike this you should be shot

  • @Betachiken looks like 91 people are dead D:

  • 91 Persons are Fat ass Butthurt Comunist thad got raped

  • america was cool back then (before the vietnam war era with the stupid hippies). when people wanted to join the military and was honored to fight. Everyone was patriotic and the economy was booming. now we just have fat unpatriotic ppl hating the military and government while most of them dont know anything about politics and economics and they just think the government and the war is screwed up because other ppl think so. the drugged hippies with their stupid unpatriotic beliefs started this.

  • @reactri You do not know how glad I was to read that. It's very rare to find someone who thinks that the UNpatriotic people are at fault, not us. I applaud you, sir.

  • @reactri "Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship....

  • ...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country"

  • @machaeroguy True but the government is a necessary evil

  • @reactri What are you talking about? People in the States back in those days were conscripted, meaning that they were forced into the military, just like my dad was conscripted to fight in Korea. We have more patriotic people because of hardships and we have a 2 million man army that are all volunteers, which means they are patriotic to fight for this country and protect it against foreing and domestic enemies.

  • @reactri Are you telling me there is no more patriotism? Oh boy you have never heard this song played live. One time I was at West Point (US Military Academy), and the concert band played this song. People went CRAZY over it. Patriotism still exists, and while America doesn't have the same booming economy it had back then, we are still the greatest country the world has ever seen. People in the military are VERY respected even today, trust me. And that "drugged hippie" era is over, by the way.

  • the greatest country in the world haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ,sorry haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa .

  • always when we play this in band for spring concert im so glad im playing trumpet, and not flute...therefore i wont have that piccolo solo.

sounds awesome, but a friend told me playin it is awful ;) idk

  • the. best. piccolo. solo. of. all. time. !!! :)

  • love this song

  • Absolutely iconic. Awesome quality.

  • I definately do not want our Nat'l Anthem replaced; but if we did not have our anthem, then this would certainly be a good choice.

  • 90 bastards are communists

  • Di curam nobis quia sunt com vincere erant dederit

  • 4th of July Parades Forever!

  • Gotta love Sousa.

  • Listening to John Phillip Sousa makes marching my dog more enjoyable.

  • why do i picture the marines landing on some beach with battleship guns 'a blazing behined them?

  • @quarterstarstudios11 Because Sousa was a kickass Marine.

  • This music was made back when America was COOL!

  • @PandaOnFire1000 It's always been cool.. xD

  • @PandaOnFire1000 it was made when the Army and Navy both actually had ballz to fight a war rather than just letting do the Marines do all the dirty work

  • @PandaOnFire1000 I'm sure after November of 2012 we will be cool again.

  • @jilktube this is NOT the National anthem,

  • Awhile back, I got the combination to a safe and was thoroughly disappointed when this didn't play after I'd cracked it. I was all set to do the mirror scene and everything.

  • I love sousas marches, they make me feel so energetic and simply ready for anything.

  • does anyone else imagine themselves walking around blasting things with a huge fucking shotgun when they hear this?

  • 1:40 This part is awesome.

  • hello america this is your president John Henry Eden and we need to have atalk

  • @xTheSilentRevolution dude fucking dont use a browning a5 12 gauge, i would fucking use a good ole American wooden baseball bat and fucking pour hot oil in his eyes and over his body. Fucking make that prick have pain

  • @SEALwarmachine Isn't it wonderful, this ease of americans to use 4- and 5- letter words. Really civilized.

  • Also this is know as the Disaster March Used in theaters and Circus when things were going terribly wrong didn't want the people to panic

  • @xTheSilentRevolution Wow. I am having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that you made this comment 1 week ago.

  • This song is awsome! I love it. God Bless the U.S.A and the people who risk their lives and those who have died defending it.

  • Everyone knows this is a "Romantic Song" from the Romantic Era in like the 1890's

  • Anybody could say anything about the US... but what's true, is that they have forged such a wonderful country where everything works great... and this piece is just a sample of some of the best of that country... ok, US is also the bully of the world! but who cares? Greetings from Mexico.

  • @lalungenuictdestens "Who cares?" ??!!! Most of the world do... They've busted the balls of practically everybody on it. Bombastic braggarts,

  • @xTheSilentRevolution A "Browning A5 12 gauge"??!!! A 2-barrel hunting gun??!!! He'd first make you stiff dead with a full clip (30-rounds) burst from the AK-47 that never leaves him. In the meanwhile, he's making fun of the ami's and thumbing his nose at them from the caves of the deserts in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and making them look like the fools they are, since they sent there their expedition with all their bombast. HE IS THE ONE THAT'S F******G you assholes!!! Gheorghij

  • @xTheSilentRevolution Let the past be the past and bygones be bygones man. Peace!

  • we have 88 nazis

  • I love drinking Pepsi to this song!!!

  • I dont know why, But this is the greatest thing...evar

  • This version is awesomeness!!! PLEASE tell me whose orchestra is this or who's performing!!

  • @xTheSilentRevolution I'm gonna get my AA-12 automatic shotgun and make Osama swiss cheese.

  • magnifico es mi favorita i play the flute and piccolo cool magnific the interpretation john flips sousa :)

  • Piccolo Obbligato is awesome..Sousa is awesome, Yeah

  • "I've never seen a President, stand up to the Israelis.

They always get what they want.

If the American people understood what a grip these people have on our government, they would Rise up in Arms. Our citizens don't have any idea what goes on."

    - Admiral Thomas Moorer

Former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff under Reagan

"Its hard to imagine us going into Iraq without the strong lobbying efforts from AIPAC and the Neocons"

-General Odom, NSA Chief under Reagan

  • This is the greatest piece of music ever!!!!

  • @MrLamontSanford Oh, yeah... forget about Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikowskij, etc.

  • @Gheorgyi They are great too. But this song reminds me of hot dogs, baked beans, beer, potato salad, etc. on July 4th, so that's my impressions...!!!!

  • Piccalo sucks its for little girls

  • @landronics Sorry pal it matters not. Its's people such as you who need twweking, starting with the brain!

  • @landronics your retarded, piccolo is insane to play, flute, maybe litle girls Jazz flute = awesome, but i want to see you play piccolo, you would fail, hard

  • @MyNameBeZach Brass is way better makes a better sound they play louder this is played largely by trombones which i play a euphonium

  • @landronics HAHAHAHA, your saying a Euphonium should play the piccolo part?

  • @MyNameBeZach nope not at all all brass instruments produce a better sound and are much louder thanks , i rest my case here

  • @landronics You rest your case?? you dont even have a true point, only opinions, better sound is so variable. There all different tones for a reason

  • Piccolo solo is amazingggg!!!I'm playing it i'n my band:)

  • When I was a kid playing the trombone(1971 high school) this always gave me chills. Now more than ever. One of those songs I wish I wrote. God bless Sousa so it wasn't up to me.

  • This is my ballet song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I kinda think this should be the U.S.A.'s national anthem. For one the tune feels distinctly american. Thats because it was written by a true american composer, John Philip Sousa. While the lyrics to the Star-Spangled Banner were written by Francis Scott key, also an american, he originally wrote the song as a poem. The tune of the SSB itself is from a british drinking song. I have other reasons too, but I'm running out of room to type. :)

  • @Jilktube Sorry but this is not what a national anthem should sound like. The national anthem we currently have is awesome, and while the original tune was from a british drinking song, we have modified the tune a bit since the Star Spangled Banner was written, then again since it was our national anthem. National anthems should be somewhat slow, and not too long. This is a great song for playing on the 4th of July during concerts, but it shouldn't be our national anthem. The current one is great

  • @SemperFiOorah1 I agree that it is a good anthem. I'm really just nitpicking.

  • @SemperFiOorah1 For playing, also, at the entrance of the clowns in the third ring of a circus. Gheorghij

  • @SemperFiOorah1 This is NOT the National Anthem, this is another marching song by a conductor of "Martial" music.

  • @daddooak well its being associated with usa instantly and i think its the unofficial anthem

  • @daddooak I'm QUITE aware it's not our national anthem... I never said it was...

  • @SemperFiOorah1 estoy viejo para leer tantas pavadas, solo limitense a escuchar,el himno es excelente, seamos de donde seamos.

  • @SemperFiOorah1 That is your opinion. I strongly disagree. An anthem should be a song that represents the nation whose anthem it is. Therefore an Anthem could be many different types of songs depending on the country.

  • @knepie Yeah i get that, all I said was that the anthem we currently have is awesome and while this is a great song that I love, it can't beat our current national anthem.

  • @SemperFiOorah1 I wholeheartedly agree. An Anthem is sort of a reflection of the Triumph of the country, and is thus very stately and "Royal", if you will. This is more nationalistic, and is celebrating America as a whole, whereas the anthem is a musical representation of our Country itself.

  • @luigisorchestra Yeah that's exactly what I mean. :)

  • @Jilktube This is the more like the kind of song you would play with a fireworks show on the Fourth of July, or during some other American holiday.

  • @SemperFiOorah1 that's not really my point, but ok.

  • This song was long ago so people don't put your crazy modern politics on this one ;-)

  • I wish this was the United States national anthem. I hate their anthem, this is far superior. Fuck, I'm Canadian, and I would go marching into war to this song.

  • @cmyersguy yeah I'm Canadian too, but I really wish this song was ours, it has that sense of pride that I don't get from our anthem. Not that I dislike it, but our anthem needs to be sung juuuust right, and if you get the folky singers its putrid. I'm in a rural area so all I hear is acoustic guitars and phony singers, I like strong instrumentals.

  • our ballet song for brisbane dance estiedford

  • i play piccolo and i can play it!! it 2 years but i can play it and im really happy

  • What a tune can't beat a bit of brass, makes you want to go out and do something inspirational!!

  • And this is why band is superior to orchestra.

  • THis March was featured in the 1960's movie, entitled "Once More With Feeling, staring Yul Brynner and Kay Kendal. She was the piccillo player who stood up fot her solo. A breath-takinh scene. Lord, I wish I could get my hands on a copy of that movie.

    Charley USN ret.

  • THe SUPER high pitched notes are from a piccillo, NOT a flute, same answer for the query about the 1:40 mark

    Charley USN ret

  • what kind of brass can make the really high pitched notes starting @1:40 ?

  • @TheScientist0000000 1:40 that's trombones and you call that high 2:03 is high that's a piccolo-flute solo

also the piccolo-flute has some counter melody parts there after the trombone blasts

  • @TheScientist0000000 Thats a tuba...my instrument

  • @youngdre95 A mix of Low Brass, trombone, baritone, tuba

  • @youngdre95 Mine too bro. Played tuba for 6 years now and going into the Marine Corps Band with it.

  • @plane15man kool the Marine Corp Band cam to my school in Alabama and talked to us..but idk if I want to join..and I been palying tuba for 1 year and baritone for 4 years

  • @xTheSilentRevolution Ultimate THUMBZ UP.

  • No offense but I never realy liked that picture since i saw "Flags of our fathers"

But it's the most awesome march ever!

  • Why don't all of you guys who are fighting stop being RETARDS and appreciate the song rather than failing miserably at saying which country's the best.America's great, Italy's great, there's no need in argueing over something dumb.

  • i love this song!! Sousa FTW !!!

  • Sousa never thought of his marches as any great accomplishment. The one that he did feel most accomplished with was Semper Fidelis. I love playing that. :)

  • Okay this song Is the most EPIC song ever written especially at 1:40 you can just see Americans kicking ass over seas!

  • All the experts agree on this as being THE GREATEST military march piece of all time.

British Eighth, Invercargall, etc are good, but not like this.

  • @TheJomogogo: I love the 'British Grenadiers', but I love this too. Argh, it's so difficult! XD

  • After World War II this was the atmosphere of the time an elated world victorious over the Nazi troops. Today we live in a nation who preys upon its people like the Mafia prior to WWII. (Sigh) "United we stant." United we are NOT.

    America shall fall.

  • @believe1god How about "no".

  • @hoju365 Good call, it actually is.

  • My brother-in-law was buried a week ago today, with Military Honors. As part of the healing process, I have been watching patriotic videos. God Bless You and Rest In Peace.

  • when I'm draggin or down.. this gets me going - up!

  • Break strain ftw.

  • sounds Polish

  • @katuroo lol? Dont alot of poles live in USA now. Pulaski for one... great cav leader under George Washington

  • @katuroo lol? Dont alot of poles live in USA now. Pulaski for one... great cav leader under George Washington

But America is every nation put into one. So, it has a taste of all nations in my opinion

  • @Wackylackay I wasn't complaining about it, I've always liked it - it's just what I hear.

  • @Wackylackay If this Pulaski served under Washington, it doesn't seem likely he LIVES in the USA "now". As to the second phrase, QUOTE : ""America, thou half-brother of the world / with something good and bad of every land" (Bailey,- Philip James (1816-1902), English poet):

  • @Gheorgyi he was exiled from Poland after being guilty of trying to kill some noble, or whatever, he lived in Virginia, thats why some county or town is named after him... derp

  • Not surprised to hear that, Sousas music was great for the Circus atmosphere. It added to all the thrills and drama like no other. His music was so hot it probably started the fire in the first place!

  • This should be the anthem of the USA

  • Good ol John Philip Sousa <3!!

  • If you dont like this song, your probably not american, and probably need to leave the Great American Continent

  • @GhostXoP I like it MODERATELY, I don't DROOL over it, OK? And I dson't have to leave any "great continent", I already do in the one where everything started, for good or bad,

  • @Gheorgyi ...didn't "everything" start in Africa?

  • @277Jules Going back in time, yes - one can consider Africa (Egypt), Asia Minor (Mesopotamia), the Far East (China...), etc. But the type of civilization which, for good or bad, gave origin to the way the Western World lives now, comes from Europe.

  • I'm a german girl and i love this song too :)

  • Well done!

  • Sousa's music is easy listening but is more suited for the cicus than the parade ground!

  • @MsRoyalTiger its funny you say that because this was the song that Merla Evans played at the Ringling Bros. circus in 1944 to alert the staff there was a fire in the tent. It was their emergancy song, if you will.

  • You Yanks sure do know how to put together a great marching tune that has such meaning. Although the Brits don't do too bad either. But this has got to be one of my favourites.

  • yay piccolo

  • thumbs up if you're an AMERICAN and proud of it!

  • Comment removed

  • The flute part is the most awesomest thing ever!

  • @Juanimador ya it totally was but i'm not sure if its a flute i could be a piccilo

  • @sweetpea9852 I'm not musically inclined. I'm afraid I wouldn't know the difference :'(

  • @Juanimador haha thats ok lots of people dont but the piccolo is smaller

  • @Juanimador you're right; it almost sounds like a fife or something.

  • @Juanimador

    Piccolo just to clarify.

  • @Juanimador even if its a piccolo :P

  • @Juanimador Actually a picallo-not to be confused with a picadillo. I agree- what brilliance to stick that in. A trumpet, sax, or trombone wouldn't have been the same.

  • @Juanimador i believe that it is piccolo not flute

  • @Juanimador **piccolo i think

  • @Juanimador It's a piccolo

  • @Juanimador thats a piccolo, but yes it is. Its freakin amazing.

  • @Juanimador IT'S A PICCOLO!!!!!!!

  • nice "sousa" feeling

  • Bethsheda made a good choice in putting this into fallout 3!

  • We're playing this in our All State Music Festival... Gross. Sorry, but I don't like it very much. In before LOLURNOTPATRIOTIC.

  • @XCoco666 Which state? I wish I could play this (piccolo!!!!) but I don't have the music.

  • @moondust99999 Vermont All State. It's gonna be a party. xD

  • @shutout951

If you have nothing wise to say than remain silent

    Dont embarrass yourself any further

  • @shutout951 You're gay, and that's the bottom line.

  • @shutout951 screw you, if you dont like it dont comment

  • @Omnikron228 Well, I've never seen in any other country so many cases of obscene obesity as i saw in the USA. It's all those burgers from hormone-fed beef and those french fries that make you FAT... Lousy alimentary habits.

  • @juanlugo100 Kind of repetitious, ain't you??!!!

  • @NirvanaMegadeth1567 YEAH, you TRY that... Communism kicked the bucket 20-odd years ago, but terrorism is still alive and kicking, and thumbing its nose at you from the caves on the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and from all islamic countries - and are getting the upper hand on you guys, too. Pretty soonj you'll be kicked ut of there as you were in Vietnam, 1975... And to think, when your expeditionary forces left for Afghanistan, they were thinking of a 2-wks pleasure excursion... LOIL

  • @Canaveral305 It's enough to know what "army" means, that's how...

  • @JohnMGilbert Maybe there's some internal reason for disgust...

  • @stevo4455 "Patriotism" is a healthy feeling, "jingoism" is not.

  • @doomownage94 "Whenever an american steps out of the country", there's more McDonald burger wrappers thrown in the street...

  • @Gheorgyi Don't be ignorant. Not all Americans are obese McDonald's-eating slobs. F*ck you and your stereotypes.

  • @FuneFeai Well, those were arab ragheads . one can't count them as humans. Bunch of ragheads in a permanent religious sham-rage. Gheorghij

  • And the RAF combined with a Russian winter, the Nazis would have enslaved you. Unnapreciative jack ass.

  • If you honestly think some dumb sand nigger in a cave was behind 9-11, you, Geogi boy, are a moron. And Vietnam would have been a quick victory if Goldwater won. But I digress. If it was not for American and Canadian inte intervention, a
