The Interview dates yr 2004. ( 1 yr before her death). But I do rember having seen another interview of Parveen Babi in the late 90s from a Bollywood show "Yaadon Ki Baaraat". Anyone hving this interview pls upload.
I doubt very much she had mental health problems. She associated herself with powerful men, and knew too much negative information, which if exposed could damage them. Powerful people have connections and collectively can destroy a person's character with rumours and lies.
Few people are aware that Parveen Babi suffered from a mental illness. Some say schizophrenia, but I think it was bipolar with parnoia. She abruptly left films in the late 70s/early 80s and left many producers in a bind (e.g. Kamal Amrohi, Manoj Kumar). Scripts had to be redone. She is said to have had an affair with Amitabh and when he rejected her, this contributed to her breakdown. Much of her comments have no basis but are very dangerous as well.
I guess you're right! Combination of things contributed.. resulting in her bad mental state especially in later life. When people have so much fame, it's hard for them to settle down otherwise...

Few people are aware that Parveen Babi suffered from a mental illness. Some say schizophrenia, but I think it was bipolar with parnoia. She abruptly left films in the late 70s/early 80s and left many producers in a bind (e.g. Kamal Amrohi, Manoj Kumar). Scripts had to be redone. She is said to have had an affair with Amitabh and when he rejected her, this contributed to her breakdown. Much of her comments have no basis but are very dangerous as well.
