  • Just be aware!

"Has everyone forgotten the CDDB debacle? Quoting wiki "The original software behind CDDB was released under the GNU General Public License, and many people submitted CD information thinking the service would also remain free." Those of you who remember will recognize what an understatement that is. Needless to say, those users were wrong and one day they found that all their effort was suddenly swallowed up and they were being asked to pay for access to the data they submitted."

  • This is awesome! Google does it again!

  • I've been adding stuff about Costa Rica for a while now, it's nothing new and it's not exclusive to the States...

  • Wait. I've been using this for the past two years; it's not new at all.

  • do it for INDIA

  • Comment removed

  • @sreeram767 Its already available for india.

  • i like it,but do it for india also

  • nice♥

  • Google Map Wiki

    :D

  • Bluegrass music!!

  • It will make stalking SO much easier!

  • Nice! Do it for other countries already!

  • Why would anyone do this for corporations profit?

One day google will sell this maps like it was collected by google. Just like tried with books.

Rename corporation domain in .ORG or Pay like everybody else.

Do i get free ads on google? No! So why would i contribute to your profit for free?

  • That's exactly what OpenStreetMaps is doing since years. Please Google be honest and contribute some money to OSM at least.

  • @arcadian0 The Map Maker tool has been around since 2005 and available in 183 other countries, but up till now Google hasn't promoted the product much in the United States, instead putting other services like Google Street View and Google Earth front and center.

  • @arcadian0 There is no obligation for them to give money. In fact. OSM is a competitor.

  • @arcadian0 That's like saying that all companies who create smartphones should pay to the first company to ever make a smartphone, ridiculous; it's competition.

  • This is the first time I dislike Google's video as it only supports in USA!!

  • @SinoZouiS Google voice

  • so when will other countries get this?

  • @lugiamcg currently around 180 countries can do this, Google rolls out US mapmaker late than any other country. Why? I guess it's related to server problems

  • @lugiamcg Dude, its already available for 183 other countries. At least check before commenting.

  • @lugiamcg 183 countries already do!

  • @lugiamcg Well seeing as how this kind of thing takes a lot of time and money, priority is given to the country where google (and the internet for that matter... and computers) were born. I'm sure they'll have this practically worldwide in a few years.

  • @Ichvyenichalster fail - get your facts right

  • @Ichvyenichalster The 'internet' was not 'born' in any country. And if you are thinking of the World Wide Web, it was actually invented by an English scientist, Tim Berners-Lee, in CERN which is located in Switzerland. I am not so sure about computer, go Google it.

  • @lugiamcg We have the mapmaker working in the Armenia.

  • Here's a question... who's gonna "review" all of those things? How are they going to confirm that there is a book store by that name?

  • @marinpetricevic7 i hope you are tolling... but in the case that your not... they can (wait for it) Google it

  • @peythe If everyone adds they favorite book shop there's going to be millions of entries. And you can't check every single one. Also Googling stiff isn't reliable information. And my favorite book shop doesn't have a web site so it can't be confirmed that way.

  • Nice one google. I always wanted better detail for parks, businesses etc... The parking lot idea is awesome, especially if you can tag it with prices!

  • I'm First! AHAHA!!!
