Green Berets aren't about flash tactics. They are trained in unconventional warfare. SEALs, Rangers, and SFOD-D are more of the assault type. One of those would best repesent the US of A in a faux death match.

They aren't normal Russian infantry though. They have Normal Troops then theres Spetsnaz which is 30 thousand strong (or 41 Companies) which their normal troops dwarf that with nearly 5 to 10 times as much. spetsnaz are still considered special forces because their training is much more difficult (with a 'wash out' rate at 55% because it is highly brutal compared to american standards.)
well in CQC accuracy isn't that important also sometimes you have to just spray a room with bullets. but i've only had combat experience abroad ships. killing pirates and bills.

in special units you often wear what is comfortable to the individual as to not look like a regular army unit. you can blend with society and yes societies have people running aorund in camoflage.

While I would not be comfortable with their tactics (walking past an open door before you enter that room seems like too much of a warning for the bad guys to me), if it works for them, they should go with it.
it's very typical view, but Alpha is not the best. all these special units have different tasks, and we can't compare them. for example Alpha won't deal with army recon operation, but GRU SpN brigades will do that

ak74su is not as good in cqb as for example 74 para.
74su is overheated shortly and due to its calibre has great ricochet. Thats why it is realy used. More often as a militias patrol arm.

in special units you often wear what is comfortable to the individual as to not look like a regular army unit. you can blend with society and yes societies have people running aorund in camoflage.

man, this is ordinary training, i doubt that every special forces don't make mistakes on training. They are not biorobots, and training aim is to know mistakes and find the way to deal with them. Your comment is pointless

well.. im guessing there's both pros and cons when it goes for the tactics here. walking past the door, does warn the terrorists, but also they would probably try to shoot the spetsnaz going past the door, and that would warn the soldiers about enemies in the room. im just guessing that's how they're thinking though

While I would not be comfortable with their tactics (walking past an open door before you enter that room seems like too much of a warning for the bad guys to me), if it works for them, they should go with it.

lots of agencies have specnaz. Hell, best army specnaz is GRU's.
lots of russian agencies have specnaz.
now, Alpha is the best of the best. and those guys do everything, from civilian terrorist rescue to covert ops.

it's very typical view, but Alpha is not the best. all these special units have different tasks, and we can't compare them. for example Alpha won't deal with army recon operation, but GRU SpN brigades will do that

Everyone knows who SAS is, when i think of SAS i think of an normal european military unit, i think you dont even have a clue of what kind of people join the Спецназ ?
let me tell you they are not like SAS, comparing them is like comparing a elephant with a bug, you people think you know everything about them, that they are so cool and are so peacefull, but in fact they are the worlds most dangerous unit of all time:)

they do not care who you are, even if your one of them they WILL take you out and EVERYONE who knew about you being in Спецназ, you europeans dont know the term behind Спецназ. They do serve well and protect Russia, but in what way? Certainly not like the SAS does:) Where im from, if you say the word Спецназ people start to panic, its not a word you can say when ever you like

Your saying random assumptions with no evidence. I can build hype, saying stuff about the SAS like they use live ammunition and kill everyone. But im actually telling the truth. I mean if you watched the iranium embasy seige you saw one of the SAS try make 1 of the terrorists come back in the building so he could be shot.
