@91TransAmKid o god i know. the 80s is when the emission bullshit was being equipped. i had an 88 dakota 3.9 v6 with the shitty egr valve and smog pump and emission hoses running all over the place. despite me cutting off the cat and having a holly throttle body on it , it almost had enough power to peel out on a wet road lol. with the lack of power you would think it got good mpgs, my 97' sierra 350 vortec 4x4 with 150,000 miles on it with 2 stopped up cats gets better than the dakota.

Watch Motor Week for the Iroc-z it explains that the 5.0 camaro was losing to the 5.0 mustang. Thats the whole reason why camaros have 350s in them. GM isnt going to sit there while a camaro is getting beat by a mustang. And they dropped the 220 horsepower 350 TPI out of the corvette into the camaro. but the heads didnt fit on it so instead of 230 hp it gets 220. A/C was not avaliable for this model. WATCH IT.

That is bull shit. Cross fire injection is the early stadges of what is know known as throttle body injection, that is know one of the most reliable sources of fuel injection. Tune port injection that is what is in later 80's model z28 is the early stages of what is know known as the lt1 & ls1. Know quit talking bad about early fuel injection because all makes had some flaws. Know go shove that crossfire injection up your ass, you dumbfuck!

The only reason they dont show the speedometer is because in '86 the camaro only had around 200HP. The next year they put in a Corvette engine and it carried 230HP also 320 lb torque. As fast as a 2006 Mustang
live 85 a great year a great commercial & a great car I had one with a 305 tpi a little bit gutless 5.0ho mustangs beat me but not in looks the tpi warped but ten bucks in the tank would red line it all day long smooth on the hwy all around fun car.
These cars were easy to work on, reliable, and got almost 30MPG even with a 350 in them. These were fast, for something built in the age of emissions controls.
I have a 93 K-Blazer with basically the same engine, has 191K miles, my dad's 88 Silverado has 241K miles on it's drivetrain, and my 88 Suburban has 202K miles on it's engine. All run great and have never been apart, just reg. maintenance and fluid changes.
For 80's muscle, the IROC-Z has to be my favorite.
And, GM does make a decent V8 that not only provides paths for upgrades but are also surprisingly durable provided that you don't abuse it (which applies to any motor vehicle). Gas mileage is not too bad, either.
For instance, I have a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban with over 300,000 miles on its 5.7L V8 (some Camaros had this) that manages 17-22 MPG on average; at times it was better than my old Ford Taurus.
These cars got highway mileage in the mid-20s--respectable for a V8 coupe. The 4th-gen Camaro got 28MPG with a 300+HP V8 in EPA tests--you could get 30+ if you were easy on the throttle. The upcoming Camaro will also likely hit 30 MPG highway.
Yeah, most people forget that GM had the best gas mileage in the late 70s and 80s, and most of the old cars on the road are those older GMs. My 79 Delta 88 has a 350, and is very well maintained and I get 24 mpg. People dont realize that even the Chevy Caprices wre getting 25 mpg back then. Very nice cars and we wont see the likes of that construction again.

hey i got an all origonal 1986 sport coupe and im form tennessee,ans the only rust my car has on it is a little surface rust on the glass hatch fram, not on the body of the car.

If you own a Camaro and if you're commenting on this video that means you're a Camaro fan/enthusiast, so it makes sense you'd keep your car in good shape. Also, if you own a Camaro in Tennessee it doesn't mean you're uneducated. It's just that I've seen a lot of Camaros falling apart in the hands of rednecks (and a few in mint condition in the hand of good Camaro fans like yourself). If I had the money I'd buy one too and restore it.

No, it doesn't mean you've screwed it up. Maybe the car is no longer original to factory specs, but that may not be a bad thing. And I really don't have anything against rednecks. I made that previous comment because I see a lot of redneck type people around my town that drive beat up Camaros. Maybe they don't have the money to fix them... who knows...

That is bull shit. Cross fire injection is the early stadges of what is know known as throttle body injection, that is know one of the most reliable sources of fuel injection. Tune port injection that is what is in later 80's model z28 is the early stages of what is know known as the lt1 & ls1. Know quit talking bad about early fuel injection because all makes had some flaws. Know go shove that crossfire injection up your ass, you dumbfuck!

these videos have to be 1985 or later. the IROC-Z was brand new for 1985 and went out of production in Jan. of 1990.

The only reason they dont show the speedometer is because in '86 the camaro only had around 200HP. The next year they put in a Corvette engine and it carried 230HP also 320 lb torque. As fast as a 2006 Mustang

live 85 a great year a great commercial & a great car I had one with a 305 tpi a little bit gutless 5.0ho mustangs beat me but not in looks the tpi warped but ten bucks in the tank would red line it all day long smooth on the hwy all around fun car.

These cars were easy to work on, reliable, and got almost 30MPG even with a 350 in them. These were fast, for something built in the age of emissions controls.
I have a 93 K-Blazer with basically the same engine, has 191K miles, my dad's 88 Silverado has 241K miles on it's drivetrain, and my 88 Suburban has 202K miles on it's engine. All run great and have never been apart, just reg. maintenance and fluid changes.

For 80's muscle, the IROC-Z has to be my favorite.
And, GM does make a decent V8 that not only provides paths for upgrades but are also surprisingly durable provided that you don't abuse it (which applies to any motor vehicle). Gas mileage is not too bad, either.
For instance, I have a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban with over 300,000 miles on its 5.7L V8 (some Camaros had this) that manages 17-22 MPG on average; at times it was better than my old Ford Taurus.

These cars got highway mileage in the mid-20s--respectable for a V8 coupe. The 4th-gen Camaro got 28MPG with a 300+HP V8 in EPA tests--you could get 30+ if you were easy on the throttle. The upcoming Camaro will also likely hit 30 MPG highway.

Yeah, most people forget that GM had the best gas mileage in the late 70s and 80s, and most of the old cars on the road are those older GMs. My 79 Delta 88 has a 350, and is very well maintained and I get 24 mpg. People dont realize that even the Chevy Caprices wre getting 25 mpg back then. Very nice cars and we wont see the likes of that construction again.

those are not 1983 commercials they are both 1985 commercials the IROC was not made until 1985 and body was changed in 1985 to smooth the edges on the front and ground effects these are both 1985 commercials
