  • Part (V):

    Love turns dust into an idol and turns idol into a deity;

    The extreme is that love turns a human into god.

    This is love, love, love....

    (posted from Lahore)

  • Part (IV): Leaving behind fear of people; She wandered in the forests driven by passionate love; Thirsty for a glimpse of beloved, Mira drank a cup of poison; And then pleaded, please save my honour, please save, save.. The edict of Allah and the Prophet is love; The teachings of the Prophet and of Koran are love; Longing of Gautam and Messiah is love; This universe is body and its soul is love. Love is Sarmad and Mansoor ( names of two Muslim mystics). Moses is love and Mount Sinai is love.
  • Part (III): And when I drink it, she says," Now what's the delay in dying?"; When I prepare myself to die, she says, "Oh no,you have to live". The path to the beloved's place is very difficult; So how can I succeed in fulfilling my task; When I went to Jamuna to fetch water; Krishna stopped me; Listen my friends, I went to Jamuna to fetch water; How can I fetch water from Jamuna; God save my honour; Whenever, Krishna played his flute, Radha went out clad in beautiful attire;
  • Part (II) Only a tormented soul can understand another tormented soul; That is why I say this to the candle and not to the audience. Why, because this love, love.... Wildness of heart could not be restrained by means of torture; No daggers or swords could ever subdue it. Love is that call of Majnoo on which no Laila could be confined within walls; why, because this is love, love... With great coquetry she says," You have to live"; Then gives me poison and says," You have to drink it";
  • Here is a literal translation of this epic qawwali: Part (I) I'm not looking for a caravan or for a companion; I'm looking for the path that will lead me to you. My damned passion has no other remedy but death; I'am looking for a healer who gives poison to cure. Your love is my desire, your love is my honour; My heart, body and soul are all engorged in love; If you ask about my creed, then my creed is also love. How can I abandon your love, it is a find of my life time.
  • Continuing meanings of difficult words:

  • wa ji wa. hoob.

  • Hello Yuan and thank you. Nice grusome detail about "Qawwali". Toche. MD Roshan became famous with this film and this Qawwali gave him the title of "Master of Qawwali Composers". His next famous Qawwali was in Taj Mahal 1963 "Chandi Ka Badan Sone Ki Nazar" also by Sahir Ludhianvi sung by Rafi, Asha, Manna Dey & Meena Kapoor(wife of legendary MD Anil Biswas).

  • @RealMusicKing - You are most welcome my dear friend.

    I will try to post that Qawwali too.

    Thank you.

  • I have watched this movie many time and i just cannot get enough of this song. Its is very emotional, It is very sad that the current Bollywood movies do not write this art form into their music.

  • Nice thank you.

  • @juneg1964 - You are most welcome, my dear friend Dr. Arjun.

  • @msjagde - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • yuan do you know that you have posted the most loved and the best qawwali of our indian films , which became immortal due to sahir's exceptional writing of this unique qawwali ,and roshan's wonderful music , joined by so many great singers of our times? the magic it created at that time crossed all religious bars and it gave a new meaning to qawwali singing . it was very often heard on the radio and seems to be the longest one till now . rafi's part just sounds heavenly ! thanks a lot !

  • @crazyoldsongs - Frankly my dear friend, I have not heard of this song until last week. Our dear friend Mr. Jain sent this to me and then only I have realized the importance of this particular song.

    Even the word "Qawwali" is a new word for me and first time I heard it only few months back. I read the wonderful article [Wikipedia] about Qawwali only then and now I know what it is.

    There are so many things to be learned and I am gradually doing it. LOL

    Thank you for the wonderful comment.

  • @yuanyuanyuanyin still awake ! and i also should add that i learnt about what a real qawwali is and its origin from your info which was very descriptive and knowledgeable . the only religion taught by this qawwaali is LOVE ! this qawwali is really very extraordinary and i am enjoying it since my childhood ! thanks once again

  • @crazyoldsongs - You are most welcome, my dear friend.
