I would have definitely bought Ika Musume if I could. But I couldn't, and there's no way I would have gone without watching and reading it. Same for Otome Youkai Zakuro. I just buy when I can and watch when I can. I don't really care, I think it'll all okay and doesn't hurt the industry as long as you're not watching to avoid ever buying. I have all 18 volumes of Dr. Slump on order right now. I hope it gets here soon.
I think it's the intent to buy that matters. I spend a hundred a month on anime and manga. But if you look at my channel, it's even got said material on my channel, Pokemon Best Wishes episodes that I need to post more of. I hope that somebody picks up Ika Musume soon. I really want to buy some Ika Musume without importing it. And yes, I've been watching it illegally. I can't exactly get Japanese satellite where I live. So I watched it with Nyaatorrents.
Illegal downloading/streaming is really hurting the industry. I think it's great that Funimation are uploading their episodes online, let's hope they upload more!

@jfreedan ok thanksI really wanna be a voice actor or a singer or a musician something fun and i wanna be famous for it, my parents tell me I wont be any of them and I should go to college when high schools over but I want to do thowse kind of things Ill still go to colleg just maybe not right away idk
I for one do hope the new format that the distributors are using online will bring more people out of dling and watching them online. I've advocated that format since the 90s and am gladly watching anime that I either want to check out or can't buy yet on their sites. I still think that digital content of anime needs something like an itunes innovation.
Ever since Funimation and Crunchyroll started their new advertising and such, I've been trying to use them whenever I can to do what I can. But as far as manga goes, it is admittedly hard to resist using the free sites, considering they will have it translated and available far earlier than it will be published, if it even will get published.
As soon as I get a steady income however, I do plan on buying what is available to me. I would hate to see the industry fizzle out due to the internet.
