  • i finally shot the moon 4 times in a row yesterday! so happy :D

  • I've only shot the moon once... and it was accidental. Here was I, damning my luck for all the points I had (supposedly) taken and then, dang, "user shot the moon". :-p

    Great video.

  • Came here because 9gag had a post about playing this as a kid by just clicking random cards.

  • Does anyone else get irked that if you've got a 5 of Hearts that there's an 80% chance that the other players conveniently have a 4,3,2 and you end up with four Hearts? I also notice that the player to my left has the Queen of Spades 3/4 of the time instead of 1/4 or 1/3 of the time when I'm in a jamb and passes it to me of course.

  • I just did this, and it took me over 2000 tries lol. The first 3 hands were pretty good, but thats because the computer traded me great cards to use. The 4th hand was all luck.

  • i hadn't thought about manipulating the computer, didn't know that was a facet of the game. i just shot my perfect game by getting rid of low hearts or trying to accumulate a disproportionate amount of one suit. let's share some tips! ;D

  • Hi. I have tried to work out how the computer thinks. I have played hundreds of games of Hearts. That zero score is impressive but I have never managed to get a zero score. Fool the computer into thinking that you do not want to Shoot The Moon? That figures. Sometimes I have shot the moon without meaning to!

  • computers are pretty easily manipulated, nice job though.

  • I've done this twice on XP. The Windows 7 version is much smarter, and I'm just thrilled to get a 0 score.

  • One time I lost a game in 4 hands 104-104-104-0 the worst possible score in hearts. Another lost in 5 hands 118-?-?-? all 3 opponets had single digits.

  • The real deal is shooting the moon on the 4th game, because there is no car trading (I always end up with 2 or 3 of hearts for some reason).

And yes Windows 7 is much harder. I have a 47% win record (altough I'm getting better, because I had to change my playing style, I was 42% for a long time) and in Windows XP there were no stats but I would be pretty close to 100%

  • i got a perfect score of 0 a couple of years ago in the XP version of hearts... but not 4 straight shoot the moons. not sure if the programming is different in vista/7 but kudos! I haven't done a perfect game on windows 7 yet. I was also kind of hoping something cool would happen as well :P

  • I am so mad at the CPU making it impossible to win at this crappy game. They need to get rid of this game please. It has driven me and my friends nuts. My record is so embarrising I have to reset the stats every week. Never even finished second at this game. Worst game ever made by cardplayers. Hate the shoot the moon rule as some smart CPU gets all the points.

  • Idk how the computers let you get away with shooting the moon the 2nd and 3rd hand, but it happens.

  • Hearts is impossible to win for me. Never shot the moon. Always I get stuck with 24 points and someone has a higher heart for the last heart I play. Never won in all the years the games I played.

  • @dxtrfn80 You just have to get the technique down and play enough games. I play with a group of skilled players, and someone shoots the moon at least once a game. You just have to know what cards to pass, and most importantly, you have to keep track of what cards have been played.

The easiest moon in my opinion is how he shot the moon in the first hand. Having A,K,Q,J of hearts is basically an instant shoot unless the rest of your cards are terrible.

  • @dxtrfn80 Oh and it also depends on who you play with and what they pass. If you play good people that pass like middle hearts or simply pass carefully, it is very tough to shoot. But if you play with people who pass A,K,Q of any suit, then it becomes extremely easy to shoot at least once that game.

  • The funny thing is, shooting the moon is actually pretty simple and easy if you know what to do. And yet, getting a perfect game is still really difficult because sometimes you end up getting all low cards. I've been trying for a while but I've never been able to be perfect because I always end up botching it when I'm trying the shoot the moon my third or fourth time. Anyway, Good Job!

  • I finally did it! I know I know, no one cares but it it was cool for me.

@DanielLukic you are right and I don't think I'll ever get a perfect against actual players but let the average Hearts players dream will ya.

  • That's the difference between AI and people - people can cover passes lol

  • I've been trying to do this for so long. Cant shoot the fourth time. Was close once but the damn computer passed a heart early when I was ditching low cards.

  • i did it:D i make 4 shoot's in a moon XDXDXD

  • nice video, i finally got a 0 in hearts though i only shot the moon once

  • I just won 0-78-73-109 only shot the moon twice i had no chance since i didnt have high hearts everytime

  • I've done this three times in about 10,000 tries. Like you said, you need a good hand on the non-pass hand to have any shot.

  • These are the worst hearts players i've ever seen.

  • Wish I could've recorded my 0-104's game too. College serves as an excellent time waster; I finally pulled it off in class and two people behind me went crazy. Nice work though.

  • I think continuoulsy shooting the moon is the only way to win with straight zeroes.

Does anyone know how to hack this game on Vista? haha

  • done it before, the none pass hand is the worst

  • Wow that must've took a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong ass time, but good job,

  • Closest to this for me was just losing one heart at the non-pass hand :(

  • Wicked! Awesome job man!

  • Lol huge amount of luck in this, but that's the only way to do it. Shame it doesn't do anything special tho...

  • Luck is true it took countless amounts of attempts to do. But there is a degree of technique, you need to make the computer players not know your shooting the moon for as far into the game as possible.. Once you get the hang of it, its not that difficult

  • How do you do that? I've only done it a few times before.

  • @thelolman2000 what's shooting the moon?

  • @wizofhell It's when you receive all 26 cards that give you points. What happens is that you end up getting zero points for that round while your opponents each get 26. If you start a game a get four in a row right away, then you get a perfect game. It is probably the quickest and easiest way to do it, yet it is still really, really hard.

I've been trying to get a perfect game for a while now, and I've come close a few times but I never was able to pull it off. It really is quite a challenge.

  • I have only had the perfect Hearts game once. It is hard to do, especially the 4th hand where you cannot pass.

  • Do you know if the Vista version of hearts can be set up to play in a home network with other computers? I can't find the answer anywhere... thanks.
