i had it one time in france that i fell in a big wave i was not realy good in surfing at that moment so i fell in the water and my surfboard hitted my head and when i was up the next wave came and that like 8times when i was on the beach again i saw that the red flag was up al the time so i the not realy good surfer was in the water at a moment they dont even let you go in the water

Two things,I have ridden steamer lane on a bodyboard several times and the only time someone flipped me shit was when I pushed the nose under the water of the tenth surfer that snaked me there. I consider that pretty friendly to a non local bodyboarder. The other thing is that bodyboarding doen't really give you an advantage at a break like mavericks. You need a wave catching machine to get into those things, and a bodyboard is not as good at getting into huge surf like that as a big wave gun is

@terrinm I lived at Pillar Point from '89 - 2005 and saw the whole Mavericks thing go down brah. And I can tell you, there are a handfull of body boarders that ride Mavericks. There is even a body surfer and she is a woman. I talked with her one day. She's balls out.

remember the wave stands up on a reef, so when those monsters draw up its not that deep, the guys that ride this type of wave are a special breed, they dedicate a lot to big wave riding in the water and out of the water training

hey ive always wondered, if you were to fall off one of those waves as you were dropping in, would you be able to pencil dive and try and get as far under the wave as you could and then come back up after the wave passes over? or it it too strong and pick you up and throw you over the falls?
