  • Narrow body plane + Wide body engines = amazing:D

  • this airplane is very good, to passengers. for the airlines isnt good. the price of fuel per hour is very high. unfortunatelly american airlines wont continue with this amazing bird

  • The rocket of airliners.

  • Is B757 really over-powered ?

  • You Know Its Gonna Be Steep When The Flaps Are All The Way Down On Takeoff

  • 767-200 equally impressive

  • 767-200 eqaully impressive

  • More like BLAST OFF!

  • Really random question! If you remember (If you don't that's ok, I see this video was taken 5 years ago! Wow!) What seat were you sitting in? I love sitting by the wing and seeing the flaps. :)

  • @REDCLOUDX Honestly I dont remember but I would have to guess 31, 32 or 33A

  • If only the 757 wasnt retired. I hated boeing for that. But too bad the blastoffs are only for the first part, then it climbs normally

  • @TeamLeftmatch777 They're not retired man, you can fly on them all you want. Plenty still in service today. It's the 727's that are retired. I really liked those planes too, but yes, the 757's takeoff is something. It climbs very steeply to begin with, but from this airport even more so because of the noise regulations in the area, so pilots flying out it Orange County are required to climb as quickly as their plane possibly can so they can turn the engines down as soon as possible.

  • @ADEAL416 i mean they are not in service anymore, (not being made). i also think 757s are supposed to use 80-85 percent thrust during takeoff(engines are very powerfull) so its weird how you can do 20 degreese nose up on takeoff.

  • @TeamLeftmatch777 They may not make them any more, but there are plenty still flying for multiple airlines

  • @ADEAL416 yeah thats why im still happy but when i become a pilot it would be really rare to see them

  • Must faster climb than the 727.

  • The shortest takeoff run on 757 that I was on was 17 seconds. It was a mostly empty flight of just under 2 hr duration.. and boy could she climb ! My understanding is 757s of all commercial jetliners have the highest thrust to weight ratio

  • ths is weird before i went on holdiay to the states i had this dream i was talking to these pilots on the who said "we'll see you on the flight" and i remeber his exact voice and what really spooked me out is on a continetal 737 there was a commercial pilot satin economy in front of me talkign on his mobile phone and he had the same voice as the pilot in the dream. his voice was identical 100 percent as the pilto in the dream. i just hope this is not some kind of premanition

  • I swear this aircraft can go into orbit.

  • wow thats cazy, they operate the 757 from OC? its a pretty short runway.

  • These take-off videos really helped me build up the courage to finally get on an airplane for the first time. Thanks!

  • @kenpalmer1965 as well as Viagara!! Lol!!!

  • This is a great takeoff video! This is the best part of flight to me!

  • YEAH NOISE ABATEMENT TAKEOFF-LOVE 757

  • Oh, really? Why did they set the flaps down so much? In the sim I set the flaps to 5 or 10 degrees not 20 degrees.

    Any thoughts on this guys?

  • @br76892 cause the runway at SNA is really short. i've flown in there several times, as soon as you touch down, full reversers and heavy braking.

  • boy...that big bird can climb but she needs a LONG ASS runway, too...

  • You shot this while a plane was taking off with a video camera? THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS AND PILOTS WERE PERFECTLY CLEAR THAT YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT ON DURING TAKE OFF OR LANDING!!!!! (Sarcasm)

  • the hear is tall

  • My favorite takeoff scene so far, thanks to all posting them. Gives me goosebumps watching these. I think flying is one of mankinds greatest achievements!

  • @TheGeorgecostanza Yes indeed, this is one of the best inventions man could have ever accomplished! What a feeling and experience that I will always enjoy unless there is extreme turbulence! LOL!

  • Flies like a Maserati drives

  • bloody hell that thing climbs faster than the space shuttle

  • I am local to that airport; it's the closest one to me. I love that airport because planes really tend to climb sharply to avoid pissing off neighbors on the 1L end of 19R.

  • How far down are those flaps set?

  • @airplanecrazy1989 Usually something around 20.

  • i flew on a Delta 757 from Calgary, Alberta to L.A.... yea, it climbs steep. from L.A. we had a L-1011 to Hawaii... another ballsy plane. especially seeing the co-pilot ordered 10,000 pounds too much fuel and it was struggling to get up... those Rolls Royce engines were just screaming. fun times!

  • beautiful

  • wow, that take offf seemed fun

  • ALMOST ALL THE 757 I BEEN ON ALL HAVE HAD ROLLS ROYCE ENGINE

  • listen to those bad boys! cant wait another week from now i will be flying in a md88 and a 757-200! both deltas so hope to be good

  • This is the fastest I have ever seen a commercial plane get up in the sky ever!

  • Sweet video man! 757 rocks!

  • Nice take off, is there like little tv's behind each seat in this aircraft? Can any one describe it from the inside

  • @Anonomys2012 When I flew it, it had Delta blue leather seats and TV's in every seat however at the time the outside of the aircraft was still on Song colors.

  • @tolaviator oh alright thanks because i'm going on vacation in like a month, and i will be on this airplane. First time on delta so i just wanted to know a bit, thanks.

  • @Anonomys2012 hey me too awesome

  • sounds like a rolls royce engine set

  • @mike40842 Pratt and Whitney, RR's sound more like a friggin' wood chipper or something.

  • @UTubeLightBulb These engines also buzz, but you will never here the shock waves from the blades from behind the wing. It's a just an odd scientific thing. You can probably give a better explanation than I can. You gotta be right in front of the engines or over them.

  • Fantastic. Beauftil take off.

  • those flaps a re extremely deep

  • Before song went bankrupt I flew on them from MCO-SFO, SFO-ATL than regular Delta colors from Atlanta to orlando. the seats are so colorful. (:

    good video xD

  • I love this; aviation is an amazing thing...That was beautiful...

  • Sounds so peaceful. :) Great video :)

  • I hate aviation weenies, they're a bunch of know-it-all faggots, very irritating little people.

  • Electronic devices are supposed to be turned off during take off.

LOL - pretty cool take off though!

  • @UtahImplosion yes they r but the FAA is more worried about i pods. If something happened they could still see and hear. With i pods u cant hear if there is an emergency

  • 777BCAPTAIN - when they overpower a 757 does that compromise the aircraft's safety?

  • Small conversations here..........

    I miss the Concorde

  • Where was the flight heading to?

  • @moronboy86 It was heading to North Korea. I'm a travel agent, I was on board!

  • yeah but when i was fliying with song sirlines there was no space and also look at the window when it powers up its like an earthquake

  • When I'm on a plane, as soon as we're airborne, I say to myself "Houston, we have lift-off".

  • awesome video!

  • jesus christ!!!!! when you got in the air you could see all the planes that were at the airport

  • fast climb

    nice vid

    5 *****

  • What row was this filmed from?

  • Sharp one...

  • great video!!! don't you just hate it when the sun is shinning right into your camera!

  • Wow, he prob only had about 500' left when the mains came off the ground. Never been through SNA on a 757, prob be too nervous knowing how short that field is

  • LOL listen at 0:23, seems like someone is really tired.

  • Gotta love the steep climbout from SNA!

  • Comment removed

  • GOD!! i hate that old glare each time i fly that gets in my eyes!!!

  • No other aircraft can climb like this bird!

Not even the 777-200ER fitted with GE90 engines in which I fly! Amazingly overpowered-757

  • @777BACAPTAIN *No other civil aircraft can climb this high*

  • @777BACAPTAIN The 757 is amazing, but i think the 777-200LR might have the #1 spot

  • @777BACAPTAIN Yeah, I think 4 engines is a good thing for this 747

  • @leo967846 I meant 757, my bad. And Im not entirely sure if the 757 has 4 engines, but the 747 does.

  • Comment removed

  • @777BACAPTAIN Hey man there's a military video of a 757 vertical climb to back you up your words. No body can argue with you and you're a pilot. to top it off. :-D Nice to see a pilots comments on an aviation video.

  • @777BACAPTAIN the 757 was meant to replace the 727 right? Wasn't the 727 rather zippy in its own right?

  • @777BACAPTAIN I know thqat for sure! That's why it remains my favorite plane to fly on. It's the ultimate commercial jet hot-rod!

  • @777BACAPTAIN i love it.

  • yay song colours

  • The only thing I hate about flying is the crick in my neck from looking out the window 757's rock!!!

  • dec 11th is my birthday! :D Read discription~

  • Well in excess of 4,500FPM

  • beautiful take off :)

  • i'm certain i was smaller after flying when i sat in the chair at the toronto cafe. I felt smallert in the chair like the cabin pressure had reduced me in size. YOu just don't no the what this could be doing to us over time as commercial air travel is still relatively new and is still very much 60s technology with a few updates. Pilots sometimes use oxygen on decent before approach to make them more mentally alert. I would very much like to use my own oxygen onboard

  • Superb vid friend, the pilot launched this 757 off of the runway, brilliant :)

  • nice vid love the 757:) gassing the engines and holding brakes then release for a fast acceleration i also had that on a atr 72-201 i have a video of it on my channel

  • Holy crap, takeoff...more like blastoff!!!!!

  • Why are the flaps nearly full for this takeoff?

  • Well, this flap is not that nearly full. It set to flap 10. The B757 can set up to flap 30.

  • I'm watching this after taking off(via Youtube!) in several IL-62s. That 757 just about jumped off the ground compared to the old Ilyushins.

  • a beautiful takeoff by the captin and first officer love the feeling when you roar down the runway

  • Im about to go on one from Seattle to Minnesota (not sure where lol), and had to see a video. Oh, and I leave in about 15 minute :p

  • the roar of the engines and the gravity pushing me back combined was probably the most epic experience in my life.

  • I want to takeoff from SNA one of these days. I hear those takeoffs are almost always full flaps, full power.

  • Very nice vid !

  • I find it amazing that Fedex operates A310/A300's out of SNA.

  • While waiting in the terminal in Orlando I was watching the planes taking off and the 757's were getting off quicker than the DC-9 and A319's, both smaller a/c. 757 is a pretty sexy plane- sleek.

  • my brother lives right down the road from SNA. To bad you weren't on the right side of the plane. You might have been able to see his house!!!

  • @nathanater08 So do I. I can see my house at the very bottom starting around 1:40.

  • On October, 30th 2009 I fly with a Balair/Air Berlin B-757-200 from Düsseldorf to Zürich. It,s my very first B-757 ride.

  • they're great jets...

  • Great Vid !!

  • Well it looks like it just rained, so there must be mositure in the air... Lol!

  • I agree... This was a fast climb. It even created visible vortecies.

  • will happen if there is lots of water in the air(dew Point)

  • Boy, he got up there in a hot hurry! Must be a fun takeoff when you have a 5k foot runway and strict noise-abatement procedures.

  • I heard that either the 757 or 767 is one of the most overpowered aircraft(s). They can climb quickly.

  • Yeah its the 757 they are overpowered for sure. There is actually a video somewhere on youtube I seen before with a 757 doing a near vertical climb. Only passenger plane that can get that close to a vertical climb.

  • i like fast takeoffs rather than A takeoff that take all day, its fun...who cares it there over powered,,, SHUTUP!!!!

  • @ronaldbuffalo2 why are u telling people to shut up people were just having a conversation about this very great piece of technology and my fav man made bird in the sky the 757. If u have nothing smart to say then keep your comments to yourself.

  • very good!!!

  • I flew in a Delta 757 from Atlanta to Tucson, 4 hrs-30 mins. Bumpy as Hell the 1st 40 mins then smooth the rest of the way.

  • wow!

that was A Steep TAKE OFF!

ASWOME I DINT KNOW WHAT ABOUT YOU GUYS BUT i RATE 5!

  • look at ground. it look so pretty and so shine after rain.

  • Orange county, CA to Atlanta, GA

  • where did that take off and land?

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! Love the take off roll!!

  • Looks like he put the brake on it and then full gas...is it?

    How long took this flight?

    Nice vid! 5/5

  • he puts on the brake before T/O to build pressure iin the engines

  • I'm flying In a Delta Boeing 757 in two weeks with their new service JFK-COL non-stop.

  • im flying delta on 30th July edinburgh-JFK JKF-denver

  • hi we are flying in a boeing 757 today it is fast and very manuverable so if you want me to i will take requests on loops and barrel rolls and possibly a dive bomb

  • i would say that if i was the captain of one

  • absolutely mate!! i found the transition between the 757 and 767/777 a challenge.

the 757 is certaintly overpowered! haha

  • I used to fly the Boeing 757 For BA but transferred to the 777.

I always found the 757 to be very responsive and generally a lovely aircraft to fly!!!

The really impressive thing about this plane is the fast climb rate as it is unlikely to find a plane so eager to gain altitude these days!

I find the 777 more pleasing and more fun, but 757 performance is INCREDIBLE!!!

  • Yeah dude, just went on a 757 last week. My dad said they are way over horsepowered and are getting rid of them soon. The thrust behind those engines is AMAZING haha

  • Do you mean Delta are getting rid of the 757?

  • Yeah the 757's are going out of commission because the airlines dont make enough money because of something like the passenger to fuel ratio is too poor. They arent able to carry as many passengers and too much fuel used for not as many people. I believe they are becoming outdated anyways. Not 100% sure on that though, but it was something along those lines.

  • This isn't supposed to happen for a while though, the process takes a while. He said within 5 years or so there will be no more 757's.

  • It's cause 757's aren't fuel efficient at all.

  • I have always loved the sound of the engines from inside the cabin as the pilots increase the throttle. The first flight I can remember hearing it on was a DC-10 when I was 4 years old in 1984. Going from Hawaii to Alabama to visit my dad.

  • please turn all elcetronic devises of intill 10000feet

  • new movie: gone in 30 seconds, lol!

  • damn that hauled ass!

  • I fly this exact plane but never this route

  • Set take off Power, Power set, Airspeeds Alive, 80Kts Cross Check, Panel Clear no Flags, V1, Vr, Positve rate,Gear up yaw damp On, Select Climb 2 ...What a great airplane to fly..now on to the 76-300er

  • DL is awsome.

  • I went on a delta 757 plane ride from orange county to Atlanta, Georgia and back. When I first went on the plane, I was scared to death. Later in the flight, I wasn't scared anymore. When the plane landed, I was surprised to see my cousins who lived in Georgia. When we were going home, I said good-bye to her and I finally came home late at night. Now I love to go on a delta flight.

  • im a fueler thos things hold up 2 40 2 50k

  • OMG short runways always scare my parents but I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already have a 15 year plan to become a pilot....weird.......

  • lol i got an 8 year plan even tho ive had it since i was 9

  • SNA has one of the shortest commercial aviation runways, this pilot is good in that he let the airplane gain power before letting go of the brakes and takeing off fast.

  • Ummm there's a place called "Africa" (maybe South America)

  • its a standard proceedure.. short field takeoffs are always fun

  • Not really, it's a good 5500 feet at least. . . Relatively short, but a 757 can easily get out of there at that low of an altitude.

  • I am a big person (255 lbs.) and am wanting to know would I fit into one seat? Were there any over weight people on this flight?

  • idk but i know southwest makes slightly larger ppl buy two tickets

  • and thats why Southwest airlines is terrible. Delta is the premier global airline of the future! DL/NW together stong!

  • delta always has good service:)

  • Yeah you'll be fine. I'm 6'4 250 and never had any problem

  • @4841253 HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • what beautiful footage! position of the window is perfect and so is the lighting! bravo!

  • I like the Boeing 757 way better than the Boeing 737!

  • Go baby go!

  • wow, noise regulations? That is really retarded!! Anyway takeoff is definitely the best part of a flight.

  • Great view of the 55, Eastbluff, Back Bay and so many more.

    Beautiful!!

  • THis may be a silly question....but why do the 757's never seem to be around any more? Was it due to safety reasons, slow delivery, or just outdated? What was the reason?

  • 757's continue to operate thousands of flights daily. They are probably one of the most widely flown aircraft in the world alongside 737 and the A320 family.

  • Oh do they? My mistake lol, I just don't see them anymore

  • they might not fly through your area anymore

  • There is nothing quite like the feeling of the surge of power you get during take-off, and then watching the ground get smaller and smaller beneath you as you start your climb.

  • love that take off

  • I don't know why, but I just love to watch airplane take offs!

  • i just love it when the rain drops just run past your window

  • That's cool to see the flaps fully extracting at 2:27

  • u mean retracting.
