  • This is one "devilish" video. =p

  • Little Walter was a real master of warbles as you said. I heard "Forty days and forty nights" where he played with Muddy and I was like " WOW !!! " amazing warbling by Walter

  • i think you said it but i don't know where >< do you blow or draw in a warble?

  • @GuitarOcarina64: You draw the 34 and 45 draw warble. You blow the 45 blow warble. :)

  • @KudzuRunner i see, thanks brother!

  • cheers - the advice you give at 6:25 about right hand and left hand pushing back is really key - made the warble much more even!

  • I have that exact Harmonica at home !!!! :D

  • Hi Adam, I'm a guitar player tryin' to learn to play with your videos!!! thanks so much to share this on youtube man!!! thanks thanks thanks.

  • funny, Steve Baker calls it trills :D Many names for one technique. Great video :)

  • Hi Adam. Wow that´s interesting. I have always been told not to move the harp, only my head in a "head roll". I saw Dan Gage´s class and he advocates moving the harp and/or the head. Useless fact:- this technique is known as "tremolo" in Spanish. I don´t know what it´s called in England as I started learning harp in Spain:) I like moving the harp, it´s faster and seems more accurate. Now I don´t feel so bad moving the harp so thanks!

  • ive always called this a controled shake.

  • I've heard players talk about a shake, but I never realized that warble and shake were the same thing.

  • ive always herd harp players talk about warbles, but i never realized that a warble and a shake were the same thing.

  • This lesson is priceless.

  • Tony (Little Sun) Glover's "How to play Blues Harp", man that's the book I learned from way back in the mid 70's. Kick fuckin' ass. I'm so glad you mentioned it in an a different video which had the comments disabled. Soooo keep on warbling.

  • I can only warble using your grip but I can only use hand varbratos using text book style. I gotta learn how to juggle. Throygh it up and switch grips.

  • vibrato

  • lol thx.

  • Yeah np. Wasn't trying to be an ass or anything btw. Just telling you for the future.

  • this is great Adam thanx, really need help with this! I'm glad you're not a head shaker, cos I heard that's better but it just gives me a headache!

  • Thanks again Adam for the expertise and giving us pupils the finer points.Cant wait for the next one.

  • you are great!

  • I saw a couple of warblers on my morning hike! They do it better than I do!

  • Adam, Always enjoy your tutorials, thanks.

  • Thanks again!!! I really like your teaching method. You have a good progression.

  • That is a great lesson. I just had high speed internet installed and this will make it very worthwhile. I plan to learn a lot from you...Gail

  • great lesson as always.

  • Please

  • I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that doesn't like (or isn't great at) the head-shake warble. Makes my eyes hurt :) Nice to have the "hand warble" validated by a pro!

    Great lesson again, as usual!

  • Great video once again, and yep you are so right the Warbles is a crucial thing to learn, and hehe the word Party trick made me laugh, because it's so true.

Warble was the first thing I did on my harp, and I went "hey look at me I'm playing the blues man" to my friends 8-)

it's great that you show it Acousticly, and not only amplified, it makes it a bit easier to see what's going on.

If it weren't midnight here, I would pull out my Tin Sandwhich and pratices some warbles right now 8-)

  • where do i find some of those awesome blues tabs to play with the harp?

  • Are you asking if I could create tabs for the various licks I play in this video? Just say the word and I'll work some up and offer them for sale (at a modest price) on my website.....

  • nice vid, that bit you were getting to at the end i think is key for people w/o access to live lessons, that bit of theory on how to actually pull things together and be able to groove, books of tab dont have that :)

  • YEH YEH YEH!!! another video. I'm excited to start working on this one.

  • Nice, as usual.....

  • Great lesson again Adam! Shouldn't this be lesson 45?

  • Right you are! I've the change. Please ignore the man behind the curtain.....
