Shaun white is the best pipe rider out there hands down but it kills me that he is the only snowboarder who gets recognition for being the best in his particular area of expertise. Everyone knows who shaun white is but no one outside of the snowboard scene knows who nicolas muller, terje haakonsen, travis rice, jamie lyn, travis parker, lando, craig kelly and so on are. snowboarding in the pipe is "right" but making the whole world think that pipe is the only aspect of snowboarding is wrong

its true enough there are many different ways that a snowboarder thinks about his sport. There are spiritual riders and there are competition riders..ect. I know that out there some snowboarder will be better than Shaun White and every other competition rider and not even known for his skill. the US open is an awesome competition but its SO unfair. theres plenty of riders who can destroy many of the burton riders from the european countries but burton probably doesnt invite them because they might be afraid it will give the companys boards or riders a bad name
