Senator Obama's Plan for a Healthy America

We alsready have universal healthcare. It is called medicare. It is a disaster. I amd a retired veteran, and had coverage under TRICARE for free. I contracted cancer, and was placed on Medicare. I now have to pay premiums for Medicare when I was getting free coverage as a veteran. What happens to universal healthcare when a person has cancer or another catastrophic cost illness? They will get denied care when it becomes too expensive.

I too am a retired veteran and TRICARE does cost. $115.00 per quarter and I pay co-pays like everyone else.

EVERYTHING in America is more expensive! the value of our Dollar (which is backed by nothing) Is droping like a rock, meaning that MONEY IS INCREASINGLY WORTHLESS. Inflation and over printing, Add in the sky rocketing price of gas, and what do you have? Everyhting costing more. The root of all our problems include MONEY, you put in a good monetary solution to fix the DOLLAR. Drill more/ Alt Energy etc. Then EVERYTHINGs price eventualy declines, no more $4.16/G gas, no more $150$ bottles of meds.

the root problem of the healthcare crisis is the avarice of drug and insurance companies. that's extremist capitalism, when you toy with lives to make a buck. it needs to stop. i'm glad barack is doing something that can work.

We need a national health insurance plan similar to what they have in Canada, England and several Scandanavian countries. What we don't need is any plan that just makes private insurers richer. The Mass plan, which Hillary is thinking of puts the onus and obligation onto the individual. The end result of almost every plan I see proposed, at least by Democrats, since I don't think Republicans have one, will cause people not to get medical care.

His plan will only be paid off if everything goes as planned, it is under the assumption we won't be paying for the Iraq war anymore however Obama will not set any time lines for withdrawal, funny, he can't give a date to leave Iraq but he can give a date for having his health care plan in place. I know this seems like a great idea on the surface. I know Obama has great intentions, but this idea of universal health care will only make expenses higher. It will make certain drug companies & insurance companies super rich and powerful.  Insurance has to be left up to the individual.

I'm 57 years old. I had a triple bypass operation with some minor heart repair a year ago. The month after the operation I lost my job and my health insurance. Consequently, I wasn't able to do cardiac rehab and I wasn't able to pay my deductibles. I want the same health insurance members of Congress get.
