actually the BASE price for shelby 500 is 45. if you add features standard on other cars (anti-lock brakes, 6 airbags, traction control) it begins to get into the fifties.
abs is standard and so is traction control on the GT500 as well as the airbags and so is leather. The GT500 is the top of the line mustang so it comes fully loaded. Very few options like trunk subwoofer and navigation. So please get out of the house and KNOW what each car is about GRAVE. Rookie!

okay this to is to all ford fans that do not keep up on the auto bailout, ford has also taken billions of dollars from the government and if they keep it up ford will be in bankruptcy court too. and in all the comparison tests to the camaro and challenger they used a track package mustang. the track package is a mustang gt premium line with an upgraded suspension and sway bars and a 3.73 axle ratio giving it more acceleration and better cornering. cost for it $33,290.
a baseline 1SS camaro is $30,995. and drifterzz89 the camaro uses a corvette LS3 not an escalade motor. camaro's have used corvette powertrains since the 3rd gen camaro's. why cause it works. and this video has finally given me the number i've been looking for. a base gt is .6 secs slower than a base ss in 0-60. and it is .7 secs slower in 1/4. and they handle the same if not the camaro handles better.
if u like the camaro its ok ( i like it too friend but every guy supports his car the most) and yes ur right about tht video mustangs used the track pack i know but if u dont know tht this mustang runs 0-60 in under than 5 sec (not 6 sec) becuz its based on the bullet ver.(and hey once again the camaro isnt bad its faster &cool . and hey if u own 1 its ok (not the v6 srry) . i got the premium GT without the track pack >have fun friend ;)
this video hasnt given you any numbers that mean anything, motor trend numbers for any car are always at least 4 tenths to slow in my experience, the camaro and the mustang are tied for 0-60, and not that far apart the 1/4 mile either, keep in mind the mustang is almost 500 lbs lighter than the camaro, so that over 100 hp difference doesnt mean as much as you think. GM needs to wise up and take some weight out of that camaro.
keep in mind that all comparison tests done of the with the mustang GT was with the track package. i'm looking for the specs on a mustang GT without the track package. and if they do make the times 4 tenths of a second slower that means they made the camaro times 4 tenths of a second slower too right.

2010 Camaro 2SS is 5-6 grand more, for that same 5-6 grand you get a super charger and GT 500 track pack put into GT and you smoke the Camaro... You do any real mods to the Camaro and you are touching GT500 price and you get smoked... and if you are going to spend 50,000 on a car, just go get yourself a Z06 and smoke them both! i had ordered a 2010 Camaro but they closed the dealership I was ordering from and told me it would be another year for the car.. ford is getting me the GT in 8 weeks!

Yeah, these rear wheel drive Mustangs look real good, but you almost have to park them in the snow. Mine is a little older(1999), but it is about useless in the winter time. No matter how cool they look, unless you have another car or live where it is warmer, it ain't worth it. Never again for me unless I move to a warmer climate.

I have always loved mustangs, but as of right now, it looks like the upcoming camaro is a better performing car... hopefully Ford will come back with more power and a better suspension
New 5.0 DOHC is coming next year with AT LEAST 400hp/400lb-ft trq and the twin turbo Ecoboost v6 is coming as well...as far as handling..the track pack stang with its 3.73 gears and better suspension is quicker than what they just listed and will outhandle the Challanger and come damn close to..if not beating the Camaro SS. The mustang is also 250-400lbs lighter than both of those.
Yeah as the previous two said there will be more powerful powerplants introduced in the next model year. Even with the 4.6L V8 the Mustang is fraction(s) of a second slower (0-60/ quarter mile) than the 426HP Camaro. With the new 5.0L 400hp ford engine coming out....well you get the idea.
I saw 3 of these at the Ford Dealership today, it was awesome. When I was leaving I saw a guy driving out of the Chevy dealership driving a 2010 Camaro SS and I gave him the finger.
2011 will see the return of the 5.0 Mustang GT. There have been spy shots of the engine bay with Fords new "Coyote" V8. Google it! Its likely gonna bring 400 hp and torque to the table. With the lower curb weight, look for it to smoke the Camaro. Should be fun stuff either way. I'm definitely waiting to see the specifics on a 2011 before jumping the gun though.
Oh yeah, and they should also be putting in the new 6 speed transmissions (not sure if that is a done deal, but Ford said that virtually ALL cars they sold would have them by 2012 or so, so I expect the same auto tranny the Taurus SHO is getting, and hopefully a 6 speed manual as well). AND they should give the entry level 'Stang the new 3.5 or (it better be) the 3.7 V6 (same as in the Fusion Sport) with 275 hp or so.
I saw this car in a Ford lot midway though last month, and I'm most likely going to get this car. I've liked Mustangs for years. This will be my first Mustang. I am disapointed the V6 Mustang didn't get any more horsepower. 215 for the V6. The V6 Camaro has 300 Horses.
I've always loved how the fog lamps look on the grill of the V8, I just wish you could get the fog lamps on the grill for the V6.

my mom has a 2007 ledgand lime mustang with louvers on the back side windows. she has the lights that the 2010 mustang has (not saying the lights' name!) and eveyone gets confused on what model she has XD

camaro base model-23k (you find one at that price either because jackass dealerships have 5k+ markups on them) i looked at a camaro 1lt yesterday, it was 32,900 just down the street from it, for the same price was a loaded mustang gt. I used to love camaros but if the dealers dont stop jackin up the price then theyre never gonna sell any.

actually the shelby has 500hp, 540hp in 2010. If you know math 500 or 540 does NOT equal 426.

another if grave. U stated they had equal HP, now the SS needs a turbo. Did u know they make turbo systems for the GT500 as well, and bigger blowers. GT500 bottom end built to handle MORE boost than the beloved SS. Fully loaded SS almost equal in PRICE to a loaded GT500 (low 40K). Rookie!

actually the BASE price for shelby 500 is 45. if you add features standard on other cars (anti-lock brakes, 6 airbags, traction control) it begins to get into the fifties.

abs is standard and so is traction control on the GT500 as well as the airbags and so is leather. The GT500 is the top of the line mustang so it comes fully loaded. Very few options like trunk subwoofer and navigation. So please get out of the house and KNOW what each car is about GRAVE. Rookie!

dude, you cannot expect to convert a fanatic of a vehicle. either way they were both nice vehicles. the shelby was just a little but wobbly while braking. that was its only problem. and i couldn't really afford it. it was 45k and the SS was 35. the mustang GT was just slightly underpowered. And my father, God rest his soul, was a Porsche fanatic until he ran it into a light pole when his steering column snapped.

okay this to is to all ford fans that do not keep up on the auto bailout, ford has also taken billions of dollars from the government and if they keep it up ford will be in bankruptcy court too. and in all the comparison tests to the camaro and challenger they used a track package mustang. the track package is a mustang gt premium line with an upgraded suspension and sway bars and a 3.73 axle ratio giving it more acceleration and better cornering. cost for it $33,290.

a baseline 1SS camaro is $30,995. and drifterzz89 the camaro uses a corvette LS3 not an escalade motor. camaro's have used corvette powertrains since the 3rd gen camaro's. why cause it works. and this video has finally given me the number i've been looking for. a base gt is .6 secs slower than a base ss in 0-60. and it is .7 secs slower in 1/4. and they handle the same if not the camaro handles better.

if u like the camaro its ok ( i like it too friend but every guy supports his car the most) and yes ur right about tht video mustangs used the track pack i know but if u dont know tht this mustang runs 0-60 in under than 5 sec (not 6 sec) becuz its based on the bullet ver.(and hey once again the camaro isnt bad its faster &cool . and hey if u own 1 its ok (not the v6 srry) . i got the premium GT without the track pack >have fun friend ;)

The SS automatic uses an L99 which is a truck motor, only the 6spd version gets the LS3.

the L99 is based off the LS3 for the automatic the only difference is lower hp and torque and active fuel management.

this video hasnt given you any numbers that mean anything, motor trend numbers for any car are always at least 4 tenths to slow in my experience, the camaro and the mustang are tied for 0-60, and not that far apart the 1/4 mile either, keep in mind the mustang is almost 500 lbs lighter than the camaro, so that over 100 hp difference doesnt mean as much as you think. GM needs to wise up and take some weight out of that camaro.

keep in mind that all comparison tests done of the with the mustang GT was with the track package. i'm looking for the specs on a mustang GT without the track package. and if they do make the times 4 tenths of a second slower that means they made the camaro times 4 tenths of a second slower too right.
And no one has done the comparison test i want to see which is...

The money that Ford got from the government was to sell them cars, they also got a grant from the government to go more green in their production facilities, that's a lot different than the "bailouts" GM & Chrysler got.
You must not keep up with the news because Ford just recently reported a 2.3 billion dollar profit recently from all the extra business their getting because people are afraid to buy from the bankrupt companies (GM/Chrysler) but still want to buy American.

its 210 hp, 240 lbs-ft of torque. and yes the 2009 and 2010 are the same.
i had a 2008 v6 mustang. it was the best horsepower for the price, but it was not the highest v6. pontiac g8 has a v6 around the 250's. hell, honda accord v6's had in the mid-high 200's.. however, it is a badass car

2010 Camaro 2SS is 5-6 grand more, for that same 5-6 grand you get a super charger and GT 500 track pack put into GT and you smoke the Camaro... You do any real mods to the Camaro and you are touching GT500 price and you get smoked... and if you are going to spend 50,000 on a car, just go get yourself a Z06 and smoke them both! i had ordered a 2010 Camaro but they closed the dealership I was ordering from and told me it would be another year for the car.. ford is getting me the GT in 8 weeks!

Yeah, these rear wheel drive Mustangs look real good, but you almost have to park them in the snow. Mine is a little older(1999), but it is about useless in the winter time. No matter how cool they look, unless you have another car or live where it is warmer, it ain't worth it. Never again for me unless I move to a warmer climate.

It does not. Mustang gt's are 13.5 sec in the quarter mile, and the camaro ss does 13 flat. That is not "stomping the shit out of" anything.
Consider that the camaro has a 426 hp corvette engine, and the mustang still has a 3V 4.6L, and those times should be a whole lot different.
Ill wait till 2011 and the new mustang gt's will be kings of the road, and leave all the non-existent camaros in the dust.

hmm. i like this car. and im a moar lover. i think the engine is pretty powerful for a 4.6 liter. i knno the camaro got 300 with v6 but still this is a nice car. i know people hate the rear end but i love it. this is the 2000s not the 1960s so it doesnt have to look just like the '67. this car is head over heels better than the 2005 in terms of overall look, performance, and handling (much) IMO. i dont get why people hate it.

New 5.0 DOHC is coming next year with AT LEAST 400hp/400lb-ft trq and the twin turbo Ecoboost v6 is coming as well...as far as handling..the track pack stang with its 3.73 gears and better suspension is quicker than what they just listed and will outhandle the Challanger and come damn close to..if not beating the Camaro SS. The mustang is also 250-400lbs lighter than both of those.

Yeah as the previous two said there will be more powerful powerplants introduced in the next model year. Even with the 4.6L V8 the Mustang is fraction(s) of a second slower (0-60/ quarter mile) than the 426HP Camaro. With the new 5.0L 400hp ford engine coming out....well you get the idea.

but Ford can't let the camaro even have the straight line, they need to bury all aspects of that cartoonish looking piece of plastic...
this means, bring the 5.0 Coyote V8 into production ASAP, even if its an option the first year or so while they get rid of the remaining 4.6's...
5.0L w/ close to 400hp will make the mustang gt a monster with balanced handling, unlike its nose-heavy, wallowing competitors...

2011 will see the return of the 5.0 Mustang GT. There have been spy shots of the engine bay with Fords new "Coyote" V8. Google it! Its likely gonna bring 400 hp and torque to the table. With the lower curb weight, look for it to smoke the Camaro. Should be fun stuff either way. I'm definitely waiting to see the specifics on a 2011 before jumping the gun though.

Oh yeah, and they should also be putting in the new 6 speed transmissions (not sure if that is a done deal, but Ford said that virtually ALL cars they sold would have them by 2012 or so, so I expect the same auto tranny the Taurus SHO is getting, and hopefully a 6 speed manual as well). AND they should give the entry level 'Stang the new 3.5 or (it better be) the 3.7 V6 (same as in the Fusion Sport) with 275 hp or so.

I saw this car in a Ford lot midway though last month, and I'm most likely going to get this car. I've liked Mustangs for years. This will be my first Mustang. I am disapointed the V6 Mustang didn't get any more horsepower. 215 for the V6. The V6 Camaro has 300 Horses.
I've always loved how the fog lamps look on the grill of the V8, I just wish you could get the fog lamps on the grill for the V6.

im planning on saving up for a GT premium 2010 stang. gorgeous gorgeous car. most of the problems have been solved tho i do not understand why they are not utilizing on the engines more. the stock V8 has less HP than most V6's now.anyways stil lawesome car. as far as the Camaro...rofl the extra horsepower is needed just to move the heavy frame...the camaro is way heavier than the Mustang and u can get the fog lights on the V6. its a 500 dollar add-on

Wait the competition is going to be stronger. One analyst said the chinese will come out with better cars, and the american car companies will have to change to be competative. Tell me the truth josecrosscountry, would you buy a mustang or EVO if you had a choice. EVO would be the definite choice in my books even though i like the stang. A friend of mine bought a 2.5impreza, and the car is made with exceptional quality. Where in ford puts in a crappy interior, and can't handle at all compared to it.
