I don't necessarily follow her music to any degree but I will tell you that this version (live and studio) should go down in history as one of the best soul songs ever recorded. It's up there with the very best ever sang. She should have stayed in the direction with her career...a ballad/pop singer. This song was also extremely hard to sing technically and she pulled it off with perfect diverse range and tone. Britney could not do this in her dreams...believe it.
