Nice bike, I have the 2008 sv650s and love it, amazing bike. If you were to get rid of that chrome muffler, get a new license plate kit to get rid of the huge mud guard on the back tire, and get some flush mount LEDs it would improve the look. My Leo Vince carbon fiber muffler sounds very throaty... It's quite impressive. If you want any pics or a vid of the exhaust let me know. I've done all the above to my bike.
Did you ever get a chance to try out a Ninja 650? Seems comparable to this in terms of price and performance. Either the SV or the 650 is probably going to be my eventual upgrade from my current 250.
the front looks like my 03 r1, check my bike out, i sold it last week cause insurance in canada is a rip off, i bought a cbr 125 instead, but switching back to a 1000 or 600 after im 21
Love it so far. got it wit some damage at a great price so I'm workin on it still. Makin sure it will be good to go on the freeway without nothin fallin off. Grab yourself a nice exhaust and you'll be set. I plan on major upgrades and changes. Good step up though from your 250 to a 650. How do you like that torque? :)
You mind me asking how much you paid for it? I plan on getting a 08 new one but was considering a used one however two grand more I think I would be happier than buying a used one.
It took a few weeks to learn how to deal with the extra weight and power, but at this point it's no more difficult to handle than the 250. In fact, I feel more comfortable on the SV650s than the 250.
i just bought the EXACT same bike. i absolutely love it, a blast to ride, nice throttle response even in the lower rpms. I dont have the exact same cosmetic upgrades as you do, but i do have some nice ones. this bike is worth the money
The SV650s is much more powerful, but I've become accustomed to it. It has a more pronounced forward lean, but is quite comfortable. I mention a few other things in the City Ride on SV650s Pt.1 video.

It would look a lot sportier if you remove the passenger grab-rail.

Nice! I was wondering if you would move up, because you sounded really content with the Ninja.
I'm in love with my 2006 Sv650s. Perfect street bike. I reccomend a full exhaust, not a slipon, and get a nice smaller tag bracket.
Got a minute? Check out my SV vids. I use the same camera you do.

Nice !!
I like the bike, do you know where the fairings were bought from? (the fairings around the engine). Mine does not have them, thanks a lot
siweLgh 2 years ago
Not exactly sure where the lower fairings were purchased, but I would recommend that you check eBay. They often have good deals.
