  • What type of computer are you using? I have windows7 and I'm trying to set up this game D: How did you do it?

  • that is some horrible voice acting. i dont know if ill ever be able to unhear that...

  • Hercrabbiness = 1 of the 5 top Sierra sources in my honest opinion.

  • Here's to hoping there won't be any pOIsonous snakes in this game

  • Wooo

  • Comment removed

  • I had this game when I was a kid. Damn puzzles used to piss me off. Still a great game.

  • I want to play this again.

  • Sucks... should've played the CDROM with audio. I love that guy's voice, especially when he says those corny "game over" messages.

  • Oh man I just watched OOCloud's KQIV, it was great. I loved the voice he did for Lollotte.

  • Huh, I thought there wasn't a good KQ LP'er other than Paw. Evidently I was wrong. xp

  • I like in the beginning Alexander hopes they get back to Daventry fine, even though it took them 3 months sailing their in a sailboat, just how exactly are they going to get back in lifeboats? :3

  • As the ship nears the shore, day turns to night and the sea turns violent... .... *watches animation* ... ... ... ...and Then he dies, well hope you enjoyed King's Quest! :)

  • I remember playing this game as a kid. Like, a really little kid. For some reason, it scared me at certain points. Maybe I'll find out why...

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to watching this! Nostalgia strikes again.

  • lifeboats for months? O_O yeah, they will be fine :P

  • Ooooooooooo my goodness, nostalgia trip from hell!! I remember playing this came when I was very little annd only getting so far because a screensaver would come up and (being as young as I was.. ) i didnt know how to get back to the game and gave up.. Now that I've seen this I NEED to hunt down this gabe and try tp play it once more for nostalgia's sake!!!

  • Considering Alexander's upbringing, it really is straong that his personality would be so proper and "royal."

  • This game is so old that i played it with 5 1/2 inch disks

  • @drewpamon

I could swear this game was only on 3.25" and CD, cool.

  • @Moominaba74 it came on 11 5 1/4"

  • Oh, wow, this takes me back. When I was a little girl, I used to play this game with my cousin. I think this is one of the earliest games I can remember playing. 1992. Wow. This game is only two years younger than me. =D

I never played with the voice acting. I am glad that I didn't.

  • Is it me, or does your friend sound like Garfield the Cat at times? I don't know why I'm making that kind of reference.

  • @FireballKupa I thought he sounded like Tom Bosley. ;)

  • First time i hear a girls voice in a lets play video !

  • The CD version has a better intro.

  • Yay! Other people again commenting!~ I suggest doing a LP King's Quest IIV.....

The girls comment on their deaths, and some are pretty darn funny ;] And you're Rosella again o_O And not 8-bit Rosella. Like, good quality Rosella. And You don't have to worry about Edgar and his evil mommy. >w<

  • Yay, this is so nostalgic for me - KQ6 was the first game I ever owned! I was 10 when I got it and, corny though it was, the Alex/Cassima romance was sort of my introduction to love (I got really sappy over it and wrote fan fiction retelling the whole game from Cassima's perspective.. LOL). I've revisited KQ6 a couple of times since then and it's still among my all-time favorites!

  • @grandweasel Congratulations!

  • Best KQ in the series!

  • A walkthrough is a video without commentary, a let's play is someone playing it just having a good time imo.. usually how it works.

  • @Kwak3r yup quote "LETS" also best kind of game videos is lets BLIND play buuut sometimes not the best

  • This is a commented version lol that's so interesting.

My 2nd favourite videogame too (1st being FFVII).

  • I tried playing Kq6 on virtual pc with windows 98 and I have trouble with the cursor D:

  • Hmm... so Alexander hopes that his crew made it safely back to Daventry... WHAT?!

It took them 3 months to find the land of the green isles, they crash their boat, Alexander passes out for a few hours, and he hopes his crew is already back home safe? They also probably don't have food in their lifeboats for a 3 month trip. Yay for mundane plot holes!

Either way, this game rocks and so do you and LateBlt, woot!

  • Hey, he's royal heir the the throne of Daventry, if his men have to sacrifice their lives for him to get some action with Princess Cassima, SO BE IT.

    Ahem.

Good stuff, looking forward to the rest of the LP.

  • HOW DO you play all these old school games on vista? I played kqv

  • I use DOSBox to play most of these games.

  • where can i get that?

  • Google it; you'll find it. :)

  • sadauskas is lithuanian :)

  • Thank you! I wondered about that. :)

  • Hiya, hercrabbiness, remember me? I got sidetracked from watching vids on Youtube for a while, and now I'm catching up. So, I'll likely be filling your inbox with these comments for the next few weeks, heh.

Hey, this is a great game to get sidetracked on from your main LP.

Four dots? I thought only JRPGs did that, lol.

LateBlt apologizing for jerkiness? But he's not a jerk...

This is like the high school amatuer drama version of the intro, lol.

    Nice narrating, as usual :-)

  • Of course I remember you! You were along the first few of my viewers who commented on my videos! I've never forgotten your name. :) It's good to hear from you again.

  • Of course, since it's Sierra related, it's easy for a Sierra fan to recognize, heh. Funny thing is that it wasn't my first choice when I was first picking my nick, but everything else I wanted on hotmail was already taken.

  • sounds like a plot for a porno

  • Ah, classic king's quest. Good stuff!

  • I have to say this game is worse than its precedent (KQ5 which was actually pretty good). Things that annoy me are the pinky-yellow icons, the art (which was absolutely great in KQ5 now isn't that great) and the setting which is just a re-ash of KQ2... I wouldn't be surprise if in the next game they would make Rosella getting married... and how could Cassima be in love with Alexander when we all know that she wanted to replace Valanice in KQ5! [btw, good job you two! I love your voice ]acting

  • Cassima's voice sounds different compared to the CD version.

  • you don't need to apologize for the jerkiness, it just makes it even funnier :]

  • hurry up...!

  • Actually, I haven't seen any new videos from oocloud36 in a while. Hope he's ok!!

  • This was great, you guys were so funny!

  • "The magic mirror?"

um, NO, the one we use every day in the bathroom. WHAT DO YOU THINK!

  • @sm2142 That would be a whole weird Tyler Durden thing, wouldn't it? oO

  • At 7:48 there's only one TEAM programmer there!

  • Oh awesome! this is by far my favorite KQ :D

  • Pretty sweet! But how on earth did you get this to run? I tried the whole "dos box" thing, but it kept telling me that it "couldn't install the video driver"

    Any suggestions?

  • Unfortunately, I don't know very much about those things... I'm sorry! :(

  • wow i remember playing this on my first computer you get subbed just for being awesome and LPing this (bonus points for playing the disk version like i had too >.>)

  • The jerky shoulder animation makes it look like they are straining against bonds.

Judging by the voice acting in this intro the bonds were probably put there to prevent them from over-gesticulating.

  • This is such a great KQ

  • >it'll be alright, I promise

    famous last words.

  • Haven't heard this game with music in a million billion years. I seriously need to dig this out.

  • and thanks for posting the memory trip games HC, and LB :)

  • And thats how the ocean changes colers kids. Yep god pours a whole lot of food colering in it.

  • I missed the part stating this was supposed to be an educational game.

  • "And then he dies"

    HAHA GOOD ONE!

Damn this sure brings back lots of memories! Thankx alot for uploading! *Continues watching the rest*

  • The voice acting reminds me of a gumby cartoon.

  • games needs mores Female LPers

  • There's not enough female LPers. Now that one is doing the best point and click adventure in history (also a game newer gamers have never heard of), I'm stoked.

  • @jammo2000

    Wait, this isn't Monkey Island!

  • That's what you get when you watch an LP, dude. If you don't like it, either play the game yourself or find a playthrough.

  • If you don't like the video, nobody's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch it. And your utter lack of respect for women is sickening.

  • wow..

you know, if you don't like it there's this button called "back" on your browser, if you don't like it. don't comment.

god, people like you need a good kick to the groin or something.

  • You know, watching this reminded me that I used to think Alexander hooked up with a bunch of pirates for his journey, too.

  • MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN Kings Quest 6, that brings me back i remember beating that game but fk IT WAS LONG anyone else here played this all time classic?

  • I agree with you on OOCloud36, he's super great on LPs ! :D

  • I wish I knew girls who liked to play sierra games. :(

  • I hear ya.

  • Sadauskas sounds lituan

  • It would have been funny to hear all the bizarre death comments on KQ V XDDD

  • is this that game where you have to go through that dam desert i remember playing kings quest

  • that'd be 5

  • Alexander, yay! XD

I'll have to catch up a soon as I get a chance :D

  • How do you get so many views so quickly? My KQ6 videos have been up for two months and you're passing them up in just ten days!

  • My guess is that Let's Plays are just generally more popular than playthroughs.

  • You can't love or hate a video until you at least see it. I was talking more in terms of tags or other tricks to get views.

But I guess people just see the "let's play" label and start cheering or something. I don't really understand that.

  • @shadyparadox I know this is over a year old, but my guess would be more people like hearing the player talk as well as playing the game rather than straight watching them play it. I think it has to do with us feeling like we are playing the game with them in their living room. We feel more involved is what i'm getting at i guess.

  • @Kain5th Eh, I've given into popular demand myself since then and did my own LP. But my style has always been to be well prepared and produce media with the highest video and audio quality possible, instead of cold improvising with blurry videos and white noise in the audio.

  • @shadyparadox actually, i usually prefer comment-less longplays, but hercrabbiness is one of the let'splayers i can tolerate(ok ok, she rocks). :P i think she probably accrued views so quickly due to her previously established reputation.

  • LateBlt's laughter is contagious!

  • The intro is hilarious. Alexander's lines are just priceless. They sound a lot better in the later versions, I agree.

Anyways, this looks good. I'll keep my eye on it. ;)

  • Welcome back, hc! :D Wow, King's Quest VI brings back memories. I used watch my brothers play it when I was 3-4 years old.

  • Well, I suck, got a case of the papers and forgot to learn =(

Anyway, I kinda had to seclude myself from society somewhat to catch up.

  • HAHAH. I wrote that comment and THEN heard you recommend me. :D Thank you so much hercrabbiness! :D I love this community. Everyone is AWESOME!! :D

  • You're welcome; you totally deserve more viewers. :D

  • Oh, and as far as the LPing community goes (I'm assuming that's what you mean), there *are* a fair share of jerks, idiots, and drama queens, actually... but they don't seem to like LPing old adventure games, fortunately. I think for the most part, people are really nice.

  • Hm. Yeah.. You're right :P But yeah it's interesting how people who play the classic games do tend to be very nice. In fact, I've also noticed that I can easily make friends with people who have also dabbled in these games because it's as if we already have so much in common.

    *shrug* I dunno.

  • Oh, checking the different forums I'd say there are A LOT of jerks, idiots and drama queens, but they don't mean it in a bad way.

There's a lack of certain genres though, I agree.

  • Yesss! I love this game. So much. I played it with my brother when I was little and that's when we beat it, but now adays I simply get stuck.. and I refuse to look it up! :) I'll just play it along with you guys. :D

  • I as well played this game with my sister when I was little. :) Afterwards I think I kept playing it over and over again, so I never forgot how to beat it, but I honestly don't remember how to get all the way through the "short path."

    Where/when do you get stuck?

  • Hey, c'mon, my audience is *YouTubers*. ;P

Nah, the truth is I that I simply like "dot dot dot" better; mostly because it takes longer to say that than "ellipsis."

  • Yay! Hercrabbiness is back! And with that dark mysterious voice again!! YAAYY!

  • You mean LateBlt? XD

  • "I think it is time that I did another LP. What you say?"

    8D YAS YAS YAS

  • Awesome :D

  • Oddly I found him before you and LateBlt! ^_^ So glad you started this one, I loved this game.

  • "In the mirror? The magic mirror?"

No, the one we got from Bed Bath and Beyond.

  • =D Haha

  • XD !!!

  • I'm glad to see you're doing another LP XD

  • Thanks! Your LPs are also going great, as usual. :D

  • It has a MIDI version of "Girl In The Tower" for the closing credits, but it doesn't have the full version with lyrics (although you can hear a short clip of it from one of the "About" screens).

  • Speaking of the midi version...

The first time that KQ6 CD appeared in a KQ Collection they forgot to put the audio track for the ending song on the disc (or tried to save room by leaving it off?). So, even though I had the CD version, I had to go without the actual song until I bought the next collection version.

  • Yeah, she'll definitely return... I'd never turn my back on her. :)

I haven't played the disc version of this game all the way through yet, so I don't know. But my guess is that they'll have the instrumental version of "Girl in the Tower" at the end.

  • Welcome back =3

  • Thank you! :D

  • Nice to hear that Laura Bow 2 is still going.*insert Sierra Death Joke here* I like how the intro is a combination of stiff Action League Now figures and pictures with the mouths cut out.

  • I always thought they looked a lot like Barbies.

  • So he went to the green isles meaning he went to Ireland, well if that is case it should be fun doing the pubs. Thanks for the new site intro.

  • Yep, Ireland is well known for is Jamaican and white/Arabian citizens!

  • I have been watching a lot of U.K. tv shows from the 70's and 80's posted on you tube and good deal of the humor is around that subject. It is being part Irish, mention green isles and you know it is.I have started watching OOcloud36's videos also.

  • King's Quest 6! @_@ I remember playing this when I was four (and getting majorly depressed everytime I died), it's really nostalgic.

This is an LP I really look forward to watching~

  • Four years old? Wow...

  • YES!!!! WOOT. I've had too few LPs to watch.

  • Aww... well I'm glad I can give you one more. Or two more, if you start watching OOcloud36's videos as well.

  • Oh I certainly am. Glad you plugged his LPs since he's really quite good. I hope you do KQ5 some day.

  • Not my favorite King's Quest, but there's absolutely no denying this is a great game. I look forward to listening to your let's play of this classic.

  • Thanks!

Out of curiosity, which one is your favorite? 4?

  • 4 or 5, I'm not sure which (probably mainly because of nostalgia since those are two of my first adventures games). I love all the King's Quest games really, and most Sierra games.

  • Yay! KQ KQ KQ KQ KQ~

  • Hooray! :D

  • Oh, this chewed up so many hours... ...Partly because the idiots who decided to package this and four other discs in a bundle pack put the manuals on another CD.

How in the world is that supposed to help with the damn copy protection...?

  • Maybe it's just to bring an air of mystery and wonder? *shrug* I dunno... That's usually what it did for me. :B

  • This is my favorite game, but I remember having trouble accessing the hieroglyphics in the bonus content.

  • Hieroglyphics? What? Where?? o_O

  • Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but there is a puzzle to get up a mountain? You have to use ancient letters to spell something in the stone? The ancient alphabet is decoded in a text-based document found via DOS outside of the game. Of course, I was 10 when this came out, and totally smashed on meth at the time.

  • Actually there are several puzzles as a part of the copywright protection. In most Sierra games the protection was a real pain (especially if you lost your manual), but I always had fun with that puzzle. The KQ6 manual itself was actually a fun read too, lots of nice backstory on the "history" of the Green Isles.

  • Ah, my apologies; I assumed you were talking about Egyptian hieroglyphics.

Yeah, those symbols are annoying... I don't really mind the other puzzles in that segment, but having to look up the symbols each time is a pain.

  • Thank you so much! This was one of the last good adventure games, and before the internet! I had to send Sierra hints a letter to get help, and it took 3 weeks for them to get back to me. And the voice work was great, although I'm sure your's will be just as good.

  • Hmm... did you not have a hint book when you got the game?

  • I lived on the Texas/Mexico border, we didn't have access to a lot of that stuff, and I didn't want to order it. Plus I made some friends at college when they helped me out with the game.

  • Yay my favourite KQ (apart from 4). I'd forgotten how different the voices in the disk version were in the intro. Glad u havent cancelled the Laura Bow playthru though. Welcome back!!! :)

  • Thanks!

I'm really glad to see (from all of the comments) that people care enough about LB2 to actually miss it or want it to continue; usually I feel like that game doesn't get enough love.

  • This game was created this year I was born! When I was young I remember watching my cousin playing King's Quest 6 on his computer.

Thank you for creating all of your wonderful LPs. I am looking forward for your LP for LB2.

  • The year you were born? Wow, I feel old... 8|

  • Seem like I am the only person in my age who actually knows who Roberta Williams and the "Two Guys from Andromeda" are.

But again, back when these classic Sierra games were released, not many people in the part of the world I am living in have computers.

  • KQ6 was by far my favourite in the series, Im glad to see it getting love here.

  • It's my favorite along with KQ4... There's just something about those two...

  • @hercrabbiness

I don't see why you are laughing in all intro ? If you don't like the game why you put this video ? I think you are an idiot , including the guy who also talk in a background.

  • @hammerxp512 I think you are taking this a little too seriously. I adore this game, but this version of the intro is pretty terrible compared to the others I've seen, and I don't think that laughing at bad voice acting and game glitches makes anyone a terrible person.

P.S. - Next time you call someone an "idiot," you might want to check your own grammar and make sure you sound literate. Otherwise you might look silly. :)

  • @hercrabbiness I only wanted to answer you regarding my grammar.

FIRST of all English is not my first language, SECOND - I not at spelling exam , SO I don't care about your "score"

  • @hammerxp512 I'm not sure what you mean by my "score," but my point still stands. I know English is a difficult language to master, and you have my sympathies, but unfortunately it still looks silly to call people "idiot" when you do it ungrammatically. By the way, there's nothing wrong with your spelling; just your grammar and punctuation. Good luck.

  • @hercrabbiness Here is my proposal how we can end up this discussion fair. I will admit I am typing ungrammatically and looking silly as well , but YOU ARE AN IDIOT , Agree ?

  • @hammerxp512 No. Goodbye.

  • @hercrabbiness gosh, hc, you refused to agree to his compromise that he made a mistake and you're an idiot? how intransigent of you!!! :P

  • @hercrabbiness I've noticed alot of Sierra Game VA's are bad. In fact one time, while I was watching KQ V, this one guy and I thought Queen Iceabella said something like "I will f*** with you and your owl." THAT'S how bad the voice acting in that game was.

  • @Rushman200

I'm actually pretty fond of the talkie version of KQ6, it's way better than 5. It could just be because it's what I grew up with, though.

  • Sorry, but I just couldn't stop thinking about Eggar's version when I saw the intro. :D

  • That's usually what I think of when I watch the intro nowadays...

    "Alexander!"

    "Cassima!"

    "Alexander!"

    "Cassima!"

    "Alexander!"

    "Cassimacassima!"

  • What you say!?

  • Hahaha, I actually meant to say, "What say you," but it came out wrong... But at least I unintentionally referenced something cool. :P

  • We play King's Quest 6 FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

  • 1990. 1992 is for the CD version. So it's even OLDER.

And... where the hell did those voices come from?

  • Oh oops. It's the disc version... and... actually I think I'm mixing it up with KQ5... so uh... yeah...

And Jane Jensen being involved is part of what made this AWESOME. :D

Also... those voices... those voices... *rocks back and forth*. I'd personally say the CD voices are A LOT better.

  • Yeah, I'd have to agree about the voices... although I'm *enjoying* the disc versions. It's just one of those things where it's "so bad it's good." :)

  • I actually screamed "HELL YES" when i saw your video on my page.

  • Aww, thanks!

  • Please enjoy. :)

  • Thats the first time I heard the other version voices; not exactly top notch. I prefer you two guy's voices over those!

I would blame youtubes weird order of searching as the reason not many people know about the other dudes videos, cause I search for KQ/SQ stuff all the time and haven't seen him : ( At least now he has one person person watching!

I started my own Let's Play too this weekend. My voice sucks though, so I don't know if it's going to turn out well : ( /shameless plug! :P

  • Actually before we started recording we did a test video... I started cracking up when I heard the voices (especially when Alexander says, "NO!"). XD At that point I decided that this intro absolutely HAD to be shown!

Yeah, I figured that OOcloud36 just needs the word to be spread around a bit before he gets the viewers he rightly deserves.

Good luck with your LP! :D

  • Great game, great fantasy plot, makes me wanna take my good-old "Roberta Williams Anthology" and play the KQ saga again ^_^ Thank you all for LPlaying these classics.

Oh, by the way, thanks for the news about LP Laura Bow 2 :P

  • No problem. :) I wouldn't want people to believe I was cancelling LB2 because I really, really love that game and I will definitely finish it someday!
