  • Can't argue with his talent and interest in so many broad styles of music. Creativity is best with those who don't place barriers on themselves.

  • Everlast does it again !!! "Get used to one style and yo i might switch" loosely quoted from Everlast

  • Props and much, much respect Everlast.

You are an inspirational musician that has gone through hell and back.

You busted genres open and pioneered shit people don't even realize you had a hand in.

Your a role model to me.

  • honestly there is no way in hell johnny could be pissed at this cover, its amazing Everlasts vocals are amazing for this song

  • Now, this is what a remake is supposed to sound like. I know the rebel, Johnny Cash, would have probably loved it.

  • Dope!

    ~ FiswaT

  • sounds good..and truly doesnt sounds like another singer ruined an old good song...

  • Nice! They did it right.

  • Johnny would've loved this :P.

  • Everlast is hot, hot, hot, red hot! Keyboard is on fire! This is fun, energetic

and compelling. Love the "how you'll feel out there?' and his antics! I think Cash would have fun with it just like he appears to be in the video. Lots of folks are too serious right now. Lighten up and enjoy. This video makes me SMILE. And there ain't too much to smile about these days!!

  • Love it !!

  • props to everlast, sounds great! love johnny cash, his songs are tough to sing and sound good, but this was pretty good.

  • I mr gene gregory thinks that whitey ford du a wicked track, he is hipho, country, rock abd lryically profound in his visionin music. Go whitey ford Go whitey ford Go whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey fordGo whitey ford Go whitey ford
  • I mr gene gregory thinks that whitey ford du a wicked track

  • That bird who's death squeal we can hear in the background ruins the song. Otherwise its ok.

  • @Octavice it's the "jump around" cut hahahha

  • its the "insane in the brain" cut

  • @chewey609 aahhhh ok yeah, that makes more sense now. thnx bro

  • I actually saw Johnny Cash in concert in Chicago ILL when I was only 8 yrs old. I will never forget that very 1st concert....The train (on the big screen..heck this was back in the 70's) yes and the fact that Johnny Cash was this individual who went through hell and high water with his alcholoism but ended up helping others. I don't think JC would mind at all!

  • sucks

  • I just want to wrap my legs around him and make mucho babies. Damn right. \m/

  • Love it... I think Mr. Cash would have done a duet with Everlast. RIP Johnny Cash

  • RESPECT JONNY!!!

  • Good show

  • The "All Time Best Music Video" was Johnny Cash singing a Nine Inch Nails cover.

  • Great Song, great adaptation. True to Mr Cash. Love to hear this instead of it being sampled in some third rate rap / hiphop song.

  • This is some good old white boy music!!! No matter if it's Johnny's version or Whitey's!!! I love Everlast and wish more people would recognize his talent!!!

  • thumbs up

  • always loved this cover

  • This is like...The Best Cover ever made!

  • I love ol' J.C. and I think this tribute is one of the best Cash covers I've ever heard. It's new and creative and at the same time honors the original song in a way that few artists today are capable of!

  • I love ol' J.C. and I think this tribute is one of the best Cash covers I've ever heard. It's new and creative and at the same time honors the original song in a way that few artists today are capable of!

  • win!!!!

  • Come on, is this serious???

  • It makes you want too get too Heaven fast...And see all the Country music legends like,Johnny Cash,George Jones,Merl Haggard,Charlie Pride,etc..

Always wished I had Johnny's Cash and Charlie's Pride lol.

Love all my Brethrens and Sistrens.Gog Bless.

  • ЗВУКИ КОНЯ!

  • dj muggs shirt ...i want it!

  • JUST A W E S O M E!!!!!!!!

  • Cracks me up when ppl think Mr Cash would have been pissed about this.... He did a cover of NiN for gawds sake... Its flat out good music

  • he is a gansta, he is a warchild, he is the love troubadour, he is a moslem, he is WHITEY FORD

  • (L) it.

  • this sucks!

  • from the moment i heard everlasts version i couldnt listen t the original version again. i feel the beat is missing...

  • LOVE everlast....and he is smiling.....one sexy dude

  • I jus Love it!

  • Johnny Cash is the original gangsta rapper and Everlast woulda made him proud. Only 2 J.C. covers have ever been respectable... this one and Social D's Ring of Fire.

  • 158 people are drowning in main stream garbage.

  • if your a johnny cash fan then this should be repulsive, the man in black would have beat his ass for this.

  • @joshuamjoshua

Not true! He would appreciate the artistic elements of mixing musical styles.

  • @one1human this is taking a classic and putting some hip hop beat to it and its horrible, he took a good song and knocked it down to his level, i thought it might be good when i clicked on it but then i heard it get pissed on and lost a little more respect for whitey ford.

  • to dogdogcatful would you please back away from the keyboard and keep all thoughts to your self!!!! this is not Sublime but like the title said it is Everlast. please keep all comments to your self if you do not wish to look like a fool. thank you have a nice day. :)

  • badest beat ever!!! sick holl@

  • His voice is fuckin perfect for this song. That white boy can never be wacked.

  • This is sublime....I just wish got the lyrics right.

  • Respect. But I prefer Johnny...

  • @ljdg100 i understand dude

  • i think its very great how artists like everlast honour johnny cash like that.. he is a legend

  • Isnt that the beat from "Insane in the Membrane" by Cypress Hill in the background?

  • everlast rocks

  • Eminem's got nothing on Everlast !

  • He can rip me

  • I really like this cover :D

    his voice is awesome!

  • fuck this guy hope he finds his irish pot of gold on someone else

  • I think a lot of people commenting on this video forget that Johnny Cash was the king of covers and, arguably, nobody in the history of music appreciated the cover song more than Johnny Cash. He did hundreds of covers in his career, and not just from his contemporaries. Danzig, Beck, Sheryl Crow and Soundgarden were all covered by Johnny Cash. It is the height of ignorance to say that Johnny would be pissed just because someone outside his genre (respectfully) covered one of his songs.

  • @lvguy20 think johnny covered a nin song too.

  • @alldrunkedup NiN covered a jonny song get it right!!!!

  • @MrBucketman420 you sure about that?

  • @MrBucketman420 best joke i heard in a long time thanks

  • @MrBucketman420 Johnny covered NIN's Hurt. Google it. It's right there for you. A great cover by Johnny!

  • @alldrunkedup johnny has a an album of covers doing beatles ,depeche mode and such

  • @alldrunkedup yeah well okay your right i didn't know that it was jonny that covered!!! my bad!!!! kudos to u

  • @lvguy20 Exactly...

  • sooo damn goood this song great work!!! mr cash would be happy if i heard this one :)

  • Johnny Cash-Everlast with a twist of ICP

  • Goddamn, this beat is fucking crazy!

Lets hope that Cypress and Johnny meets at cloud 9 some day

  • Awesome!

  • this sux ass jonny would be pissed

  • @kyle9494 Everlast often tells the story of how he recorded this song, and then mailed a copy of it to Johnny Cash's family and told them if they didn't like it or didn't think Johnny Cash would like it then he'd never release it and they said Johnny would love it. If his own family thought he'd like it, who are you to say he'd be pissed?

  • Great cover, by a great band!

  • Back in the late 70's/early80's George Thorogood recorded a Hank Williams song: Move It On Over. Back before the genre's took over there were fine lines between country and rock...Bottom line is these two 'genres' are what made American music...

  • Everybody always said Johnny was like Elvis, he could play any song and make it his own. Trent Reznor said Johnny's version of Hurt was better than his own. Many people today do not realize that Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Elvis, and many others share in the honor of being in both the Country Music and Rock-n-Roll halls of fame...This video is, what I believe, a testament to their influence.

  • Info only to all...I personally told Eric Everlast the Valley Kid to sing Johnny Cash and this was done under the 6th Street Bridge in Downtown Los Angeles with Scandolous and Cartoon.

Where is my Producers Credit on this one.

    NOT KIDDING

  • Singing was great but sorry the dj didn't fucking gose with the song .That would piss jonny off.

  • This fucking blows don't fuck with Johnny Cash!!!

  • I love everything except for that continuous "House of pain - Jump around" whistle in the background

  • @chickenwang4eva thats actually the rift from 'Insane In The Brain" by Cypress Hill. DJ Muggs is the one in the background spinnin the vinyl

  • @1999lev Aaah. True you are. They sound pretty similar.

  • he's the fuggin man

  • Everlast is damn talented.. this is an awesome cover and tribute! And he's damn sexy to boot!

  • This guy is blessed with talent.

  • it ok ...............

  • Is that Muggs in the background?

  • holy c. listened to it first on a trackmania server -> and now can't stop doing so~ nice one!

  • Props to Everlast for covering this song with great respect towards Johnny Cash. Most Rappers just shit all over songs that they sample/cover and give no props whatsoever to the original artist. Everlast showed class which is RARE amongst the thieving Rappers/Hip Hoppers and many others who cover songs and dont show any respect towards the original artist

  • @JlMMIEJAM

    I too agree w/you!

  • everlast is cool but johnny cash is way above this song's sound

  • Sooooo cool.

  • Comment removed

  • everlast is a great artist but this isnt quite his style

  • hahahahahaha goood hahahaha... fucking everlast, the BEST...

  • i honestly wish this song had received more radio play, or even the album for that matter. I think Love, War, and the Ghost Of Whitey Ford, was his best to date, has something for every emotion.

ps anyone that thinks Mr. Cash would be pissed...he was the type of artist that performed many covers and enjoyed his songs being covered too. read up on the man in black before ya run you fingers across the keys talkin crap

  • @MrJwinter85 hehehe the man did duets with nearly everyone, he wouldnt just love the song, hed bring the whiskey!

  • @MrJwinter85 I agree with you MrJ, I think Johnny Cash would be proud to have his song put out like this.

  • @MrJwinter85 just like with "hurt" trent reznor said many times that NO ONE would ever cover it when approached that johnny wanted to cover it , he asked if he needed any help

  • @MrJwinter85

    I totally agree w/ya!!!!

  • wow i never thought some one would out sing the great johny cash but i really thing whitey did it bater i give 2whoops 2 this ninjas but lets not for get the great johny cash for giving us this great song

  • dziwne...

  • Who's the one doing the spinning?

  • @cub68134 DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill..(I'm pretty sure)

  • @micn4sir sure!!! :)

  • love this cover of Folsom Prison.....Everlast is the man.....my favorite artist of all time....got the tattoo of the first HOP emblem on my right arm to prove it....so what I am 38 and my kids give me hell.....lol

  • ITS KENNY POWERS!!!

  • Hell good!!! Put the volume up and enjoy it!!

  • mr cash was an open minded type of fella and i think he would be turning in his grave just to get a better listen to this, hats off mr schrody, you did the great man justice.

  • Man, he's all over that honkeytonk fast n' loose like some kinda urban/country demon.

  • 139 people dont have a soul!

  • I don't know who that guy is....but i'd fuck him in an instant.

  • Handsome as fuck man!

  • White Falcon....ohhhhhh....I just came in my pants

  • Musically very interesting and original. But lacks the character and charisma of the original. I guess I found everything Everlast has done as being about him and not the music. Just my take.

  • I might be in love with Erik Schrody

  • Rap and country..... about fucking time

  • @LilReaper608 i allway tought Rap IS the new country ;-)

  • Awesome!!!!

  • happy birthday johhny cash , your the man, this may not please all johhny cash fans but a tribute is still a tribute and recognises peoples contribution to music we listen to today

  • lookin old....

  • you took a great song by a great man and shit all over it

  • Great Guy!!!
