In rode Itagaki, pitching an idea for a 3D fighting game that didn't have a ring-out mechanic - instead of automatically ending a match, a "ring out" simply resulted in one character taking damage, and then the fight continued as normal. He called it "Dead or Alive" because it would determine whether Tecmo was dead or alive. It was a massive hit, and saved Tecmo. Continued in next post.

First off, DOAXV didn't stop DOA4 or DOA Ultimate from being released,nor did it somehow erase DOA3.

Secondly, the X series is about relaxing, stress free gaming as much as it is titillation, and they can be highly addictive if you get into them. With porn "games", you're guaranteed to stop 'playing' them shortly after you start every time. >_>
