thank you so much for all your videos! they are the most helpful series of videos on all of you tube. You have helped me get started and still are helping me to improve. thank you thank you
try doing half beat loops. pretty hard to do, but i can still pull it off (somewhat sloppy sounding...Well its easier with a slower tempo. but your playin at 130 bpm.
although i thought this video was awsome, i did find it amusing you thought you had to explain the crossfader, no offence but i think people wanting to learn beatjuggling, would know how to use the xfader =P
Alright J! Thanx 4 all the vids, I've been spinning house & techno 4 a few years now & I've just started scratching/juggling etc. You're not as bad as you think, you're definitely better than me! By the way every1 else if you want 2 learn scratching & juggling just type djangelouk in the search bar above. He's got some really good tutorials & he breaks them down very well & makes them easy 2 understand. Peace out...DJTrueSoul.
Too much talking? I'd like to see you go on Expert Villages tutorials on beat juggling, I thought it was a good lesson he told us about juggling. Don't forget to turn your turntables to battle mode or you'll knock the needle kids.
hey ellaskins, how is that berringer mixer for scratching ? p.s. 5 months ago i knew nothing about djing, from your videos i learned WAY more about djing than anyone should know, plus, I even discvovered my favorite dj, Q-Bert. You are the fucking bomb
@ekogirls hahaha yyyyyupp! a lot of it (obviously cause they're tutorials) is almost like its meant for kids to pick up on... and yet in a complete stoner kinda storytelling way (forgetting key points and going back to them hehehe)
Speaking from the point of view of someone who's been doing it for years and can do all this stuff and much more, I think you've got a great teaching manner and anyone starting out can learn a lot from you. Unassuming, modest and informative - all facets of a good teacher, respect is due!
Great video mate. Love them all.. And don't take any notice of the haters. Must be jealousy.. Either that or they've got some major chips on their shoulders. Please just keep doing your thing and helping/educating all your subscribers (and the rest). Believe me mate it's much appreciated.
this is an Instructional Video!!! to help people with the theory of what hes trying to explain. If you want to see mad skills go Jack off to DMC competitions or something rather than chatting shit and making an ass outer yourself. Peace
hi johnathan, id just like to say thanks for all your videos they have all helped me a lot in starting off becoming a DJ. and to all the fools leaving comments such as 'ur no good at beat juggling' etc. get a life. he states in almost every video that he is not the best beat juggler out there and that is not what the videos are about! they are about showing the basic principal which they do very well.
thanks again johnathan i hope to learn more from you.
You my friend are a very good teacher, i like your stlye and hope you put together some more clips. You have an excellent turn of phrase and manner of describing things. Keep up the good work. Your really halping the scene.
@brendan190 : Get the numark battle pack.... best bag for your buck for first time starter..... I still use mine and I think its fair to say Im better at juggling than this video... (no dis at all to this video, much respect).
the bttle pack consists of the numark 1625 tt (turntable) and a mixer (the 950) but I I changed to a vestax PMC-06 Pro A. I juggle and mix with this setup... but you will need to upgrade your TT.. there good for beginner but I now see they are for begginers
i just brought two technics over the vestax which was what i was gonna go with but seeing as how i reckon i need to get on the industry standard, i learnt on a pair of shit decks and im amazingly good on these technics!!!
i know how to beat juggle very well but your not very helpfull to others if you dont show your skill off first and yes i was the 1 that said you use 2 records but im right tho cause you can make more rythem use the same records by using the same beat its also easyer for beginners just some advice
err im not retarded m8 you stupid idoit but you need to show some of stuff first its quite handy and i bet i'll beat you in a scratch off easy m8 but im only giving a little advice to others its good nature *twat*
lol oh i suck as scratching, and i'm just learning to mix. but i just mean it's retarded to proclaim that you MUST show that you totally RULE in order for people to be able to learn from you. i can understand the benefit of a demonstation, but "showing off" is hardly cruicial
just wanted to point out that a small sticker can be used instead of a marker. that way you don't write on your record (!) and on top of that, you don't need to worry about what colour your marker is if you are using white or coloured stickers..
at our final dance at school today, (i graduated today also ^^) we had a DJ and i kept asking a bunch of questions that i learned from your video and i even got to mix! i was so excited LMAO any way it was REALLY fun and i got scratchin' too and it was a blast lol.
to remsheep,, it could be because i try to upload the videos in better quality, so the files are bigger. therefor they will take longer to load. thanks

@evanz79 Serato scratch live in relative mode. your record will never skip :)
But if dont use scratch live, I guess it doesnt matter which tone arm you use because ive used both and it feels the same.

doesn't the 'return' function on the new CDJ's make this easier since there is no need to turn the jo wheel back to it's starting point?

too much talking... =( waiting for the beat juggling examples, but he doesn't stop talking!!!
p.s. to noobs:
*use white stickers as markers
(works great on black labels & if u mark it on the wrong spot, you can move it)
*& put turntables in battle mode if you wanna beat juggle / scratch
(rotate both turntables to the left so the pitch control is at the top. easier positioning not so turntables not so far apart)

How does the cross fader work with three channels?
Fencingstar9864 4 years ago
to Fencingstar9864, on most mixers the x fade will only work with the two main channels , but on some it can be assigned to other channels, but i have never heard of a x fade being used for 3 channels.

There is a dial at the each end of the crossfade side, so if you have a 3 channel mixer, then there is a dial that you can turn to either number one, two, or three and whatever that is thats the channel that is heard on that side of the crossfade. Hopefully you understand.
