@chaochaozheng5193 Dude, that's not even the real plane! It's a COMPUTER ANIMATION, made for the show to illustrate the incident and for dramatic effect. As far as we know, there is no footage of the actual explosion; a very common situation for sudden and unexpected events like this.
did the girls in first class enjoy the ride down-I mean they were in first class so they were in the bullet-damn they really earned that first class ticket-her dad was right back then first class really was first class-that ride was better then their trip to france
God, that must have been a hell of a ride at the end if you were sitting in the fuselage OR the nose. Just absolutely terrible. Reminds me of reading an interview with the people who were charged with finding the Challenger Shuttle wreckage: they said most were still strapped in their seats. Makes me want to somehow comfort the families involved...
should read the book, "First Strike....TWA flight 800 and the Attack on America".....great, great reading........lots of interviews w/ witnesses....also, many atc who were threatened within an inch of their lives by cia, fbi, etc......too scared to even discuss it......now, WHY on earth would they be afraid to disucss it, and who wouldn't what them discussing it?,.....bill clinton is a complete, lying, cocksucker.......
I believe most were found still in there seats when the main body of the plane hit the water. But depending on just how fast it hit, I'm sure there were some that were in pieces (I don't mean to be morbid).
@weriitax89 There were full bodies found as well as pieces of some people... some people were never recovered. It really depended on where the people were sitting on the airplane. Very sad!
Look kerosene is like diesel, it only ignites if exposed to fire, not sparks like petrol. I cannot cause a sudden explosion. So a sudden explosion can only mean 2 things: a bomb on board, or a missile.
I believe longtime ABCNews corrospondant Pierre Salinger's eyewitness account of that day, that a missile shot down this plane by the U.S. Navy. I will never believe the "official explanation" of that fateful day. Ever! How can they debunk 200+ people who said they saw something fly up towards the plane? Ridiculous!
@purseonal2010 The something flying up to the plane was the plane! Once the nose had broken off, the plane skyrocketed up and then stalled, I can imagine that's what people saw, because that climbing plane looks a lot like a missle from far away.
It's horrifying to think about what those poor passengers must have seen after the front end came apart. Rest their souls, you know most were conscious until it hit the water.
The term"short circuit"is ambiguous. For an electrical arc to occur there must be a difference of electrical potential. An arc between wires opens up several investigative paths-insulation type, dielectric strength, cable spacing,cross-coupling,capacitive coupling, inductive load disconnect spike and others. Alternating current cable relationship to direct current. Arc-over from high-to-low voltage fuel probe or sensor may be correct but more detail would be welcome indeed.
Why does the narrator have to call everything REMARKABLE!!, ASTONISHING!!! etc? This show abuses catch phrases and the shock factor, Air Crash Investigation is much better, more factual
actually, yall, a woman and her husband having dinner at a seaside restaurant on Long Island45 miles away, she took a picture of the night sky, and later when she had them developed, there was something on the photo with an uncanny resemblance to a missle.... now, i dont believe it was purposefully shot down, but we do have dumbasses in the military too...
@4776yankee It was on purpose. There were people on that flight the useless government wanted dead. Just like that Buffalo crash.Yet another whitness of 911 that would not stop her investigation and was about to do a TV interview expossing the useless government.
With the plane put back together in the hanger right where the fuel tank is there is a blown out area ( out not in ) My dad spent many hours looking over the remains of the plane after looking at the floor over the fuel tank and under the fuel tank he believes it was a wiring problem just like tthe NTSB said not a bomb and not a missle. I didn't see the plane so I really don't know happened. I'm going by what he seen and has told me.
My brother Jamie Hurd was killed on this flight . Our family begin in the Auto/Truck repair business know a little about how machines are built and work. Over 90% of the aircraft was found and put together in a hanger. my father personally has been all over the remains of that plane in the hanger After talking to him he says that there is no spot on the plane that has any hole or holes that the metal is pushed in meaning that the blast blew out. not in So we believe it was not a missle .
Wave your bullshit flags high! Because this ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT!!!! This plane was shot down! These people died because of the government and the government denies responsibility! It is time to refresh the tree of liberty and bring to justice the people who caused this!
@BortolanAlexandre 200 plus eye witness accounts saying they saw something going up towards the plane BEFORE it exploded. Video evidence that has all but vanished from all sources of media. (I remember watching the video taken from a balcony of a dinner party showing something going UP TOWARDS the plane BEFORE it exploded)
@mattxr2i that's not what i was talking about i was saying that TWA 800 was not shot down it was the damaged wire which caused the high voltage current to lead from one wire to another where it makes the high voltage current to lead into the tank causing a short circuit and causing the fuel to ignite
@mattxr2i I'll tell yeah what I heard... I heard it was the... pipsy wink fairy. Disliked the noodle canoodle. And decided to take revenge upon the Id of tomorrow and yester-year. And then suddenly the 747 the flight TWA800 blew up. The end. But don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You hear. can't trust the pop-a-rotsy. No sir. Can't trust them clowns nieder.
@airlineairport From what I have read, the navy was testing some new type of missile which was an "inert projectile" meaning there is no explosive warhead. That would explain why no explosive residue was found. Weather it was intentional or an accident, this plane was hit by something. And the fact the government went to such length to cover it up makes me think it may have been on purpose.
@unitedufly apparently you weren't paying attention. since the accident, they added new technology to the fuel tanks to PREVENT future incidents. As an FYI, I was on the CT shore looking across to Long Island and witnessed this...there was no missile.
@dbyington1 Bullshit, you work for the useless government. So 260 plus people who saw the same thing were full of shit, right. And the FBI aka Federal Butchers of Investigation would not interview any of them..Hmmmmmmmmm wonder why.And i guess ALL the Pilots that saw the same thing the 260 plus people saw were full of shit to.And YOU were the only one that was right, along with that Pig lying Kalstrom..Gee funny how he just disappeared all of a sudden. That FBI video is a cartoon.

It's unfortunate that people who are as miserable as you apparently are, have to make everyone else miserable when all they wanted to do was have an enjoyable evening of entertainment,. You were probably still in diapers when this happened
@unitedufly Because as with every disaster this series have covered, as well as almost every plane crash that has ever happened, a specific series of events had to occur to lead up to this event. Change one event, and it wouldn't have happened. And since this series of specific events hadn't happened before, no other crashes occurred. This is not a difficult concept.
@mattxr2i I'll tell yeah what I heard... I heard it was the... pipsy wink fairy. Disliked the noodle canoodle. And decided to take revenge upon the Id of tomorrow and yester-year. The Navy shot it down, no question. There was no explosive residue is because it was a wargame. They were trying to hit a drone, no bomb needed. There absolutely was rocket fuel residue inside the plane.
@toefur69 With all the persuasion of a 3 year old screaming "UH HUH!", you've single-handedly reversed my opinion of the years of research and replication by the various safety industries with your 10 seconds of input. Next you should investigate who really killed jebus because there's still some speculation around that...
@Kooper05 not to mention his 10 second input is FAR more credible than that of the NTSB's top officials and their years of combined experience with dealing in plane crashes...
@GamerFan73 His statement is laughable, but you should not reduce yourself to that kind of post on a video like this. Just tell him to fuck off and be done with it.
im so sickened about the two girls that almost got off the flight. The guilt the mom must feel for advising them to stay on flight 800. wow. sucha tragedy. It makes me wonder.
whose to blame? the employee that mishandled the "missing passengers" boarding pass. They sat on the runway amost an hour while the plane heated up only to find that the passenger was on board the whole time. COULD'NT THEY HAVE PAGED THE MISSING PASSENGER ON THE PLANE? It wouldnt have alred anyone and it could have saved everyones life. I cant help but think that this is what inspired the first FINAL DESTINATION movie. WOW,
@AmericanAirlinesRule Another great scientific first eh? There is ZERO evidence pointing to the fuel tank silly, you mean 'all the 'suits' were pointing to the fuel tank'. :)
@AmericanAirlinesRule Another great scientific first eh? There is ZERO evidence pointing to the fuel tank silly, you mean 'all the suits were pointing to the fuel tank' )
im glad i watched, i had read a lot about twa800 and i wasnt convinced, mostly because the details about the fuel tank and the short are almost unmentioned, or poorly explained. i mean "a short in the fuel tank" as an official cause, at face value sounds a bit weak, but this doc gives all the minute details. unmentioned though is the fact that the bomb sniffing was linked to one of three twa 747s, and they did not record the tail number. though it probably was the same plane, its not certain.
So if the plane wasn't shot down, then the blame rests on TWA, if they wouldn't have let the plane sit on the tarmac for that long running the air conditioners and heating up the center wing tank while they searched for a passenger who was already on the plane the whole time, then the crash wouldn't have happened, I believe if the plane would've left on schedule, all those passengers would be alive today, something might've happened in the future, but not on that night.
Ugh, damn conspiracy theorists. Gotta "love" how they consistantly pull bullshit out of their asses, then toss it around claiming it to be truth. I can't stand them.
I like these programmes, but I really dislike the over-dramatic music and the shouty, over-dramatic narrator. I always feel its somehow disrespectful.
@gullivera I know what you mean about making it over-dramatic. What balances it out for me is the way the tone is respectful when it's letting the victims' families talk. I feel overall the programme has a balanced feel.
@MrPician It doesn't have to be either/or, I was just saying the bloke sounds more like he should be doing car insurance ads, not a documentary about an incident where lives were lost.
@MrPician Way that its done in Air Crash Investigation with not too much over dramatic music is best way. These seconds from disaster ones are rubbish
One last comment. I give no slack for legitimate excuses for why this was not found, before an explosion. Reason, in this case because of lessons we learned with high heat, high pressure flash point accidents, and NASA since Apollo 1 blew up from high pressure oxygen and a electric spark. Apollo 13, which also shorted, ignited and blew up part of the ship. There was no excuse. Boeing had normal replacement times for wiring and inspection. So I don't blame them. I blame the FAA.
@Boogyman4050 When will you face the truth and admit that Twa 800 has been doomed, shut down by a US Navy missile ?
Not to mention that Twa 800 had to fly over one of the most congested air spaces in the USA therefore in the world. If investigations would have really gone into detail they would have revealed the truth. We expect CIA to lift the veil on this odd explosion. This mystery could be easily cleared up if the president would order the FBI to release the tapes of the satellite that evening
Conspiracy people, If you want to bark at the government so bad, then bark at real conspiracy theories. Like the FAA's tombstone policies. The over 200 people that died from this, saved 100,000+ lives later because their death brought out the facts of flaws in wiring in the fuel tank areas. These flaws affected over 1200 planes that all could of exploded the same way. They weren't smart enough to find the flaw before an explosion.
To the folks that believe the short circuit/high heat fuel vapor explosion final report. It is true, that if Flight 800 had "not" sat on the runway area for all that time, allowing for the heat build up, they would of made it to France and they would be alive today. BUT... That particular plane would of exploded, the next time it stayed running with the A/C on in hot weather if the wiring and sensor were not replaced.
No matter what you think caused this. It was a tragic loss of innocent lives. Even to this day, I feel very sorry for the families that lost their loved ones from this stupid and preventable accident.
The cases for the conspiracy cover up are not supported by the events that happened, after the explosion or the remaining evidence. For awhile, the Navy cover up and the RPG launched from a speed boat seemed somewhat curious stories, but now, forget about it. We know the truth now. Some folks refuse to believe the truth and that's their American right. So keep on writing BS conspiracy theories. Then go get drunk and rant about it. LOL.
Horrifying. I remember about a month after this my mother had a TWA flight from Newark to Lourdes, France and I was terrified for her. I can't imagine what the families of these poor people went through.
8:37:05 - "3 3 0 5, so long, stinger 5 0 7. Anything we can do for ya before we go?"
8:37:20 - "Ah, yes sir. It just blew up in the air and then we saw 2 fireballs go down into the water and there was, ah, smoke, ah, coming up from that also, ah, there seemed to be a light. I thought it was coming right at us at about, I don't know about 15000 feet or something like that and I pushed n my landing lights, ah, you know, so I saw him and then it blew."

Kooper05 4 months ago 19
@Kooper05 Jebus?
CuteCatFaith 3 weeks ago
@Kooper05 not to mention his 10 second input is FAR more credible than that of the NTSB's top officials and their years of combined experience with dealing in plane crashes...

@DLPBurke I do have respect for them, I was laughing at his ludacris statement that the Navy shot it down. Please, I never laugh at death.

CSKRGV 5 months ago
whose to blame? the employee that mishandled the "missing passengers" boarding pass. WOW,

@amazingdany No, idiots "know" that, there's literally no evidence to that theory, and everything that's been put forward has been disproved.

@amazingdany Nope. It was the center fuel tank. All the evidence points to the fuel tank.

im glad i watched, i had read a lot about twa800 and i wasnt convinced, mostly because the details about the fuel tank and the short are almost unmentioned, or poorly explained. i mean "a short in the fuel tank" as an official cause, at face value sounds a bit weak, but this doc gives all the minute details. unmentioned though is the fact that the bomb sniffing was linked to one of three twa 747s, and they did not record the tail number. though it probably was the same plane, its not certain.

This was brought to you by Webster's Thesaurus.
harlequin75 6 months ago
So if the plane wasn't shot down, then the blame rests on TWA, if they wouldn't have let the plane sit on the tarmac for that long running the air conditioners and heating up the center wing tank while they searched for a passenger who was already on the plane the whole time, then the crash wouldn't have happened, I believe if the plane would've left on schedule, all those passengers would be alive today, something might've happened in the future, but not on that night.

@gullivera i love the music but its really over dramatic
TheSoundtrackFreak 7 months ago
@gullivera I know what you mean about making it over-dramatic. What balances it out for me is the way the tone is respectful when it's letting the victims' families talk. I feel overall the programme has a balanced feel.

This mystery could be easily cleared up if the president would order the FBI to release the tapes of the satellite that evening
scaramosca80 7 months ago
Conspiracy people, If you want to bark at the government so bad, then bark at real conspiracy theories. Like the FAA's tombstone policies. The over 200 people that died from this, saved 100,000+ lives later because their death brought out the facts of flaws in wiring in the fuel tank areas. These flaws affected over 1200 planes that all could of exploded the same way. They weren't smart enough to find the flaw before an explosion.
Boogyman4050 8 months ago 2
To the folks that believe the short circuit/high heat fuel vapor explosion final report. It is true, that if Flight 800 had "not" sat on the runway area for all that time, allowing for the heat build up, they would of made it to France and they would be alive today. BUT... That particular plane would of exploded, the next time it stayed running with the A/C on in hot weather if the wiring and sensor were not replaced.
Boogyman4050 8 months ago
No matter what you think caused this. It was a tragic loss of innocent lives. Even to this day, I feel very sorry for the families that lost their loved ones from this stupid and preventable accident.
Boogyman4050 8 months ago
The cases for the conspiracy cover up are not supported by the events that happened, after the explosion or the remaining evidence. For awhile, the Navy cover up and the RPG launched from a speed boat seemed somewhat curious stories, but now, forget about it. We know the truth now. Some folks refuse to believe the truth and that's their American right. So keep on writing BS conspiracy theories. Then go get drunk and rant about it. LOL.
