During the post 80's-mid 90's era that all changed, fueds lasted months at most and titles changed hands on a regular basis regardless of who was the bigger draw.

Jericho had a lot of great defenses and matches in general and was involved in a lot of first time match types involving the IC title it doesn't matter if he was a lengthy champ or not. and he also was a "fighting champion"

hence my statement it's irrelevant how long someone held a title for. it's what they do when they have it.
