@ThnkHppyThghts If only it were Colin and/or Brad. Whoever makes this show should take note of that. Also, 'and' is inconcievably more preferable than 'or'
Just so nobody is confused, I did a bit of research (3 minutes on Google), and found that 'Weekend' (the show from which the Scotland clip was taken) was a *SATIRICAL* newsmagazine. And it was from the mid-70s.
@SeventhEve Haha, thanks, don't have a low opinion of the US, so I thought it was satire, but you never know. It could have been the precursor to Fox News.
@viperswhip Haha, you gotta get out ahead of these things... but yeah if Fox News was just one gigantic troll it would be the most epic trolling ever.
I am scottish, and that thing about scotland was the funnies ive ever seen! its slightly irritating that some people will watch that and think its true. Other than that i think that is fantastic haha
Have you seen the film Leap Year with Amy Adams? It's set in Ireland... I think you can already guess where this is going. Suffice it to say, it definitively proves that you can't get rid of thick people who've never seen past their own county lines - they just make the entertainment industry too much money. Nothing we can do about that I'm afraid, bar forcing everyone to watch QI and Inception. XD
Cool. But your fellow American friend Virgo-Something-Something thinks you need Jesus, even although he's considering throwing you in a lake of fire. I guess that's what Bill Maher means by two Americas.
@PurushaDesa im fat.... but an atheist. in the bible belt. panhandle of florida. alabama, basically. i watch qi, jonathan creek.... big train. any simon pegg, bill bailey, dylan moran, nick frost, eddie izzard. i kinda want to move to england or sweden.
If you can handle slow trains, crap broadband, cynicism, an incredibly diverse range of accents, and bit more religion than Sweden, then welcome. It's 17.5% VAT (soon to be 20) 20% income tax. Fat's not a problem. NHS is mediocre but free with nice cheap prescriptions - you can still go private if you want.
Otherwise, I recommend Sweden for atheists, providing you're okay with 25% VAT, 31% of your income and a slightly higher language barrier.
@PurushaDesa i kinda want to live a month in england, a month in sweden, just move around and see something else. no income tax at all in florida. but my recent ambulance ride to the hospital was $800. plus the surgery, hospital stay, prostitutes, etc. and round these parts its "math", not maths. and "jelly", not jam. and sports, not sport. and jersey shore, not never mind the buzzcocks. thanks for the info, im gonna crack open a swedish dictionary. "tohry" means "scrawl" in swedinese.
just a bit of trivia: that show "Weekend" was known as a bit of a quirky and not completely serious news program...most Americans know that Scottish men sometimes wear pants
