@xlBLAZElDx beginner park riders, sure this board will do, however if you are asking about a beginner snowboard I might steer you more towards the Burton Clash.
I tried this board like many years ago. I remeber it was hard to carve on it and doesn't hold an edge well at just medium speeds. It sort of like feels chattery when you go fast. Although spinning arround with it was pretty easy.
yes i have had this board for 1 season now it is a great park boad. great sidewall construction. It can go down the steepest of trails with no difuculty. I dont know what all this stuff about it gettin speed wobbles because it doesnt. Great board love definatly get it
so should i get this board if i want to jib it up while i still want to ride on the mountain (regular trails) with my frends and this is my second board im an intermidiate rider plzzzzzzzz help and does this board have edge?
yes this board has an edge... and sure you can ride it all mountain... its just not the stiffest all mountain board but really you can ride any board anywhere it just doesn't work as well as other might work in given conditions.
not sure where you are getting this whole spin out concept, if a board spins out thats operator error not the board. the Dom is a park killer that can be ridden outside the park however with a softer flex it might not perform the best at higher all mountain speeds.
i have another question if i get this board but the dom grom one my frend said it has no edge and it has a v rocker that if i went straight i would spin out is tht true?
again, as I posted below this board can go anywhere as any board can, however its limitations become very evident when its taken outside its comfort range. Kinda like taking a Honda Civic on an off road course... it might make it but getting through it won't be fun.
Lol ya makes sense but the only real trouble I had was when I got to the steeps or on ice cuz the board starts to vibrate an shake because of the flex on it
the problem is what the Rep has available at the time... its hard to get a full assortment of the next years boards so we have to ride what ever they have.
it depends on the riding you want to do... you said on the operator that you wanted an all mountain board that can do some park. The Dom is a park board and gets a little squirrely outside the park at all mountain speeds.
again setting up your gear is super easy. try to adjust your angles your self b/c if you are out riding and hate your angles or your gear gets loose you need to know how to fix it... thats why they are snowboards and not skis... way easier to adjust. DO NOT TAKE IT TO A SHOP!!
again the goal is to ride what ever feels comfortable to you... 24 inches may be a little wide if you want an all around stance but for park only thats not bad, but again it what you like in the end.
the box your bindings came in has instructions... read them first... they have all your questions answered. There are 3 holes you need to line up between board and binding... as long as the binding is relatively centered then you are fine.
the best part about snowboarding is that you can make adjustments yourself... so take them off and try something new and if it doesn't feel right then try another setting... everyone has their own perfect feeling width.
lets see I am 5'8" and I ride 23.5 if that says anything and my stance is by no means that wide. another school of thought for measuring is the centers of your bindings being slightly wider than your shoulders... but yes 16 inches is way too narrow.
if its a brand new never been used board then it should be pre-tuned and you should be all set. Your base of the board is a polyethylene material called ptex which is what the wax ad hearse to... why do you have a brand new board that has a scratch in it?
if it goes all the way to the core then yes it needs to be repaired before you ride it, if its just the ptex then you can get it repaired or just fill it in with wax
any ski or snowboard shop, or even at home depot.... just make sure its a metal file not a wood file and beware, once you file them down you can't even sharpen them back up.
what.. make it rounder? the only part of the board you might want to make rounder would be the edges... top sheet are only for looks and who really cares about it other than that
no, unless you spend your days fast planting or doing one footers over jumps then you would only use a stomp pad to get on and off lifts and then if you are putting your weight on your back foot in either situation you are going to fall... a stomp pad is for those that cannot put their weight on their front foot to actively engage the edge to turn the board when exiting the lift, also you can just jam your back foot against your rear binding for support when getting off the lift
yeah i have motos theyre fine to use with this stick. id get some customs aswell or like he said some missions if your willing to spend a lil bit more
thats a loaded question and you will hear many different opinions.... the Dom is camber the Banana is reverse... Some people love reverse camber other hate it. The Skate banana while many shreds ride it in the park is technically an all mountain board. the Dom is softer and a rail killer but again you are going to hear many different opinions about the 2 boards
twin flex means the nose and tail flex the same, directional flex means the nose and tail have different flexes... the tail might be softer than the nose and vice versa.
ive got 2 questions. whats the point of the grip tape top? what does it do? and i know this board is good for the park, but is it good for the whole mountain aswell? carving, powder, ect.
the grip tape is for sheer ascetic quality and really has no function unless you want to do one footers. This is a park board first and foremost and not intended for all mountain and park riding... you can try but you will only get so much out of this board when you take it out of the park.
I have the 08 dom which is basically exactly the same, I take it through powder, park, and everything else the mountain will throw at it and it does fine for me.
This won't snap off a 15 - 20 footer will it? I just bought it and do mostly boxes and rails but sometimes get up the courage to launch a little more than just a roller.
Burton says you can rock a large binding on the 150, the waist width is 251.0 which is on the wider size but you might have a little toes drag, but this is a park stick so toe drag isn't that important.
i have this exact board for 350 but .... this board ain't that good because of the lacks of ablitity to do high tricks do you see any tricks that this guy did in this video ?? he cant because this board ain't good and also jus get a LIB TECH bannana board for 600 bucks instead
first if you got the Dom for 350 you only saved 20 bucks, second if you spent 600 for the skate banana you got RIPPED OFF! its only $469. The kids who own the DOM that I have seen around town are throwin some pretty big stuff, some people like the soft flex and other don't, it all depends on what you are comfortable with.
the ICS, nope, good ole 3 hole pattern and almost all binding companies make a disc that is compatible with it. Unless you buy it at sports authority then you get what you pay for... no guarantees there
its called ICS "Infinite Channel System". Most of the high end board Have ICS but the lower priced boards like the DOM do not have it. Next year however the DOM does have the ICS system.
I would really suggest looking at a ladies board then... the VA Va Voom is a great ladies park board and will treat you much better than any of the smalls
are you a lady? if so what about checking out some of the womens boards...? All the companies and especially the good companies worth talking about have great womens lines. A K2 Va Va Voom or a Burton Gtwin would ride better than the burton smalls or Dom smalls
This question doesn't relate to the exact board in the video but anyway, i'm 5'3" weigh bout 100 lbs and i've been riding a 138 piece of poo from dicks. That size has felt pretty good to me. I was considering getting either the burton 138 dom grom or 140 custom smalls, but not sure which one. I mostly cruise and hit rails. Any advice?
well the main difference between the 2 boards its the custom smalls is more of a kids wide so whats your shoe size... that might make a difference between the 2 boards.
Well you are on the higher scale for the board in general... Check the ranges below, but you can try a shorter stick but the chances of it breaking or the board just noodling out really quickly are both strong possibilities. I would advise against going too short but in the end its all about what you want...
Ok so my NEW board just broke 3 times in a row so I'm thinking of getting a Dominant. I go to a tiny mountain, (with like 3 REAL slopes)all groomed, aboslutely no powder etc. And all I do is go in the park and do rails/boxes and hit a few jump (biggest 30 feet) so should I get a Dom?
I have this board but smaller different colors with the Burton Mission 2009 blue and yellow bindings so sicks.

if i go to a shop what should i tell them if i am regular

they r only facing out a little bit

the ICS, nope, good ole 3 hole pattern and almost all binding companies make a disc that is compatible with it. Unless you buy it at sports authority then you get what you pay for... no guarantees there

what do you mean by ICS, and do you know what im talking about with the grooves in some of the 09s thanks
elementskater48 3 years ago
its called ICS "Infinite Channel System". Most of the high end board Have ICS but the lower priced boards like the DOM do not have it. Next year however the DOM does have the ICS system.

oh alright. yes i'm a girl, i actually was lookin at the va va voom before
gnarlysurfer311 3 years ago
I would really suggest looking at a ladies board then... the VA Va Voom is a great ladies park board and will treat you much better than any of the smalls

gnarlysurfer311 3 years ago
are you a lady? if so what about checking out some of the womens boards...? All the companies and especially the good companies worth talking about have great womens lines. A K2 Va Va Voom or a Burton Gtwin would ride better than the burton smalls or Dom smalls
PortersLars 3 years ago
to be specific if it helps, they're the men's burton moto book
gnarlysurfer311 3 years ago
i wear a mens 6, or womens 7.5

This question doesn't relate to the exact board in the video but anyway, i'm 5'3" weigh bout 100 lbs and i've been riding a 138 piece of poo from dicks. That size has felt pretty good to me. I was considering getting either the burton 138 dom grom or 140 custom smalls, but not sure which one. I mostly cruise and hit rails. Any advice?
gnarlysurfer311 3 years ago
well the main difference between the 2 boards its the custom smalls is more of a kids wide so whats your shoe size... that might make a difference between the 2 boards.

ok im getting a burton dominant, im 122 lbs and 5'3", wat size should i get?
JWPvideoproducts 3 years ago
if you want it for straight up rails then the 146, maybe a 150 but anything bigger you will be on the high side of the weight scale.

Hey PortersLars,
I am 5'10" 180-185pds, what size should i get?
Gonna be using it for park session, and some mountain riding.
154? or 156? or maybe even shorter?
taye001 3 years ago
Well you are on the higher scale for the board in general... Check the ranges below, but you can try a shorter stick but the chances of it breaking or the board just noodling out really quickly are both strong possibilities. I would advise against going too short but in the end its all about what you want...
DOMINANT 56 125 - 175
DOMINANT 59 130 - 180

dude.. i'm 5'11", 180+ lbs.. and I ride a Dominant 159.. dont go too short!
Mine was great in Pow and backcountry too.. mid-wide helped a lot!

I am 5"2' and 95 pounds and i just got a 146 Dom can't wait to ride it. if it snows in PA... :/

heh.. I took my 159 07 Dom out for a day Heli-Boarding.. did ok :)

Ok so my NEW board just broke 3 times in a row so I'm thinking of getting a Dominant. I go to a tiny mountain, (with like 3 REAL slopes)all groomed, aboslutely no powder etc. And all I do is go in the park and do rails/boxes and hit a few jump (biggest 30 feet) so should I get a Dom?

marine you should get a wide
