the extra weave hair in the braid will help to hold the braid for people with very soft or fine hair. You really don't have to use the weave hair. You braid very good and the braids look secure enough to hold a sew in weave.

My question is why didn't you use any weave in your braids... i'm new to wearing weaves and I was told that not using weave can harm your hair... What's been your experience? Have you ever used weaves in your braids?

Yes I have always wondered why people do that...doesnt it make your weave bulkier?? I thought people that had very thin hair just used it.I only shead the regular hair you would shead on a daily basis....And I probably will not use the extra weave either...TOOO MUCH WEAVE for me HUNTI...LOL

@ThaShoStoppa05 Hey Ladies! I'm a hairstylist & I agree, more weave does make it bulkier. I have heard some other stylist say that it makes the style last long to use hair such as, jumbo braid, but I disagree! Your hair will shead everyday just as you said so no braid your own hair will not hurt as long as you take care of it (Washing, Conditioning, & Oiling) as usual.

I notice that when you add weave into your hair it's mainly for thin hair or very short hair so your hair will not come loose. (when doing a sew-in)seems that Thashostoppa05 has full and thick hair. :o)

@MsVal01 Also sometimes the braid hair can break off you natural hair so be careful when brainding in weave before doing a sew in. If you have enough hair its not necessary.

@MsVal01 I do sew ins as well as braids (micros, kinky twists, etc) it's been my experience that adding hair to the braids (unless there just isn't enough to grasp ie too short or thin) actually harms the hair more. think about the hair you're adding...that 2 for a dollar hair is synthetic (plastic) it's cuts my hands up when I work with it. Imagine what it's doing to your real hair. It's actually worse for your hair than just putting a little oil cream on your real hair and braiding it up.
