What happened to it all? What happened to the soulful groups, groups like the O'Jays? This song was long after their pop 'prime', but yet it shows how great groups can still get it done. I find it hard to find replacements for these old school groups; today they are replaced with a single DJ and some poor pop singer that lacks the passion. That is what is really lacking in vocals today, passion, heartache, love. All I hear is plastic, manufactured plastic. I still have the past, and always will.

I was born in 77'....i still remember my dad putting the headphones on my ears....the ojays, temtations, isley brothers, Chi Lites, etc. Born in Atlantic City...he cut a couple records with his group back then. i miss him. He passed in 09' a week after my Bday. He will always be w/ me through these songs.

@otteleoaka I was born in 61 so my teenage years were the 70's and I can tell you without a doubt there is no better old school R&B music then from the 70's. Good music from the 60's and 80's also ,got to live and feel the true essence of Hip Hop. The late 80's music started to go down hill and from the 90's on it's just been garbage.

I love this version. A rarity that is not on the list of contemporary (must cover to be famous) artists. Arrangement is simple but affective; conjuring up the true meaning of what soul music is all about! Plumb those depths, emphasize what we all at sometime feel. This is on the O'jays "Let me touch you" album 1987. It's out of print but they are remaking cd's of it on a three album in one cd release or if you can find the LP record on ebay or record store
