You need to read other books beside the bible man. Christianity is only 6000 years old and humans have been living on this planet over 100,000 years and yes they have been forming unions that we would call marriage today and yes people were having sex not for procreation but for the fuck of it. Religion as perverted sex and made it something to be ashamed of not the way your putting it.
I think it's important to point out in responce that even in states that had marriage equality for lgbt americans any church can decide to perform or not perform any marriage they want. We are not talking about access to religious marriages. This is about civil marriages and we live with a secular government and with a freedom of religion. As such an argument to deny people equal treatment under the law needs to be more than merely the religious views of some people.
gays and lesbians have always been allowed to get married even to each other just of different sex and happen to be in traditional marriages as we speak. Are you implying that maybe they are all living a lie or unhappy in some way? if your going to say that they would be miserable in living such a way, then welcome to the club. everybody , gay or straight, is equally having a miserable time with opposite-sex marriage. what your asking for is SPECIAL RIGHTS that exist outside of the consitution
i feel marriage is far from sacred these days when people marry for money, and materialistic things, some get married for a few days before they get devorced ... and some even make shows on the marriage concept with the bachlorette, who wants to marry a millionare, etc
and the whole John 3:16 ...if i accept jesus i find everlasting life ...eternal life ... that would be a curse on my soul that i could just never bare
